Surprisingly, Hitoshi Sakimoto has done over 100 some soundtracks. In a variety of genres. He composed the soundtrack for Gradius V as well ad Odin Sphere and Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter w/Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger, Xenogears etc). Amazing composer. And I agree with your video note. This is possibly one of the greatest battle themes in gaming history. Fast paced, epic, challenging and unique.
