I'm so happy that I finnaly heard this song again! Thank you for posting it! The 1fm Disco channel plays plenty of lost disco 45's and gems (plug, plug) but I never heard 1fm play this song.
This is a classic one.I think Pete Phipps Glitter Band drummer wrote it.Check out facebook group The Glitter Band RE-BORN in 2009 to see what they are up to know.Still really great.
One of my favourites from 'Listen to the Band' - seem to remember playing this a lot in 1975 and telling all the 'cool' kids at school (the ones who liked Yes..!)that it was the Average White Band... Hours of fun listening to them going on about how I'd finally stopped being a Glam Rocker and started listening to 'decent' music... Happy days!
In 1975, the DJ at The Sundown didn't say that this was a Glitter Band song, perhaps he thought that, at the start of the disco era, people wouldn't give it credibility! The song went down a storm, it was also played at Global Village (central London) and Kingswest (Brighton).
To paul51. No, you are not the only one who have heard this song before. It was on the B side of the tears I cried and I loved this song and still do today. An old friend of mine who was a DJ called Barmy Barry who used to work in the nightclub called The Roundabout in Gloucester and he used to play this song a lot of times for me back in the 70's. Brilliant!
The Fabulous Glitter Band so very underrated. All their members wrote their songs and it shows how diverse their style was from this Disco Funk to Drum Stomping. Quality.
I love this. I had no idea its Gary Glitter. Thought in was another band with the same name.
