@UdallIn72 Corporations aren't totally synonymous with bags of fun. Corporations have created a lot of variety, convenience, and products that appeal to many people. However, they've also successfully been the source of environmental disasters, lobbied for economic policies that have stripped away regulatory laws that protect the average American, as well as successfully pushed for governmental actions that have allowed them to usurp the middle class's position in this country.

Yeah, real government. And the blame of both Republican and Democrat for screwing with the healthcare industry for so long, and so thoroughly, that healthcare insurance has become a government-engendered cartel (government-controlled monopoly). The "unintended consequences", the blowback, has made it so that it isn't the fittest and most efficient that survive, as in any self-regulating market. Such regulatory preconditions, hamstringing real competition, its no wonder the free-market failed.
