  • Dear Global Friends,

    Part 1..

Probably it may be true in other parts of its meaning. As 20,000 leagues is equivalent to nearly 60,000 miles.

Probably it is an invention of a great submarine that travelled around the globe in 60,000 miles under the sea.

If it is 60,000 miles deep inside the sea, then this submarine will be squeezed into unrecognisable tiny size.

For example, one ton of metal will be squeezed into roughly one pound per square inch.

to be continued in Part 2

  • continued......Part 2.

There may be extremely hot and cold temperatures in between these spheres.

So how can human beings survive with high compressed pressures and extreme temperatures ?

Probably the writer would like to express the wonders of nature that human beings are unable to conquer,

same as in outer space. Human beings have a limited knowledge, capability and resources to overcome the unlimited of nature.

    END....

  • Wow this guy sounds just like Eddie Izzard.

  • @alphatotheomega7 It's funny that I've heard about James Mason through Eddie Izzard xD...I suppose you did too, no? Eddie does a decent impression of him... :)

  • @LLVynterchilld Yeah it's really good. Funny thing is, I watched this movie as a kid and I never noticed the ludicrous accent before.

  • The entire "You call that murder?!?" scene is one of the most brilliant ever. It's actually harder to analyze than it seems, especially since James Mason's depiction is the perfect balance between controlled emotion and deep-seated grief - while still maintaining borderline madness driven by revenge, but doing it with absolute cool. Only James Mason could pull off that kind of interpretation of that particular scene.

  • No One But James Mason could have Played the Role of Captain Nemo to the Hilt like he did.

He Fit that Part like a Glove. Similar to the Way You know who Fit the Role of Captain James T. Kirk.

  • Haha, have you guys seen Steve Coogan do his voice in The Trip? Nailed it.

  • 2:47 onward is my favorite part! xD

  • I thought this was a good movie for Kirk Douglas as well as Mason. He added a lot of humor to the movie. And he looked Damn good in that striped t-shirt

  • Lol. The dinner scene is no doubt the best scene of all--that and the scene with the seal for those of you who've seen it (probably everyone) the one with ned land and esmerelda.

  • "The cream is of course milk from the giant sperm whale" 'stops pouring' That dinner scene is hilarious. One of my favorite films of all time.

  • I am dying... and the Nautilus is dying with me...

  • I kind of want to see this now. :)

  • James Mason was much better than Gregory Peck was

  • Or arent you accustomed to untensils?

  • what is a league

  • @wewillbeheros A league is four kilometers.

  • @Emma1996able That's pretty deep

  • @DeepSixed300 What's "pretty deep"? 20 000 leagues was the distance professor Arronax and his friends travelled with the Nautilus. Not the deep.

  • @YDDES Fail. Google "20,000 Leagues" and "Saturday Night Live".

  • @DeepSixed300 Nope. Sorry, but You fail. The French "League" could be a distance somewhere between 3.25 - 4.68 km. According to some sources, Jules Verne used about 4 km as a league. 80 000 km couldn't be the deept, it was the distance.

  • @YDDES No, you humourless moron. I was quoting a line from a famous parody of the Disney take on 20,000 Leagues that appeared on SNL in the US many years ago. The premise is that very joke - people who mistake the 20,000 Leagues for the depth travelled rather than the distance travelled. You would have known that though had you simply done what I suggested below and googled the two titles together, rather than wetting your pants in anticipation of getting to play at "facts".

  • @DeepSixed300 Well, You may think You have humor, but namecalling is not fun, neither funny. Bye.

  • James Mason was HOT in this film!

  • Eat your pudding, Mr. Land.

  • James Mason was much better than Cary Grant was

  • James Mason is the perfect Captain Nemo. He said he liked this role very much

  • @Emma1996able You can say that Again, I totally agree Perfectly.

  • @Emma1996able Perfectly said about James Mason!!!

  • Love the hearts - love Mason too. The movie wouldn't have been the same without him.

  • please, upload the whole movie!!

  • Superb! My favorite movie! Is there any character more smug, more condescending, more deranged, or who wears a smoking jacket more beautifully than Captain Nemo. James Mason FTW!

  • Hahahahaha! I loved the hearts. Very good.

  • I loved James Mason in this!
