but mastertapes are mainly recorded at 15IPS

high speed versions of Revox reel to reel tape recorders DO offer this speed, but not the standard versions

you could record on 7 1/2 IPS on a two track G36...

but for a master I would use 15IPS with studio recording tape...

there is a highspeed version of the A77 and a professional version of the A77 too

@ragusa61 Can I ask why? I have the same player and have used it like this and on flat surface.

Also if anyone knows why I have 50v between my unit and ground I'd be very grateful of any suggestions. I get the occasional shock :/

i don't think you'll be able to use this machine without a tape, just a guess of course!!!!

Oh I thought so too, but actually you can, you have to engage the record button (and not play), then the signal will go the outputs.

Mine is still being serviced at revox france he'll be ready next week !
