It's a real shame that the actual game didn't live anywhere near up to the hype that surrounded it. Of course as hyped as it was, I think that was probably impossible. The game was too similar to OoT IMO, which was a great game, yes, but one I had already played and completed many times. TP was just okay, nothing that great, which saddens me as a longtime (20+ years) Nintendo fan and a longtime Zelda fan (20+ years also). Hopefully Skyward Sword will bring back the fun.

@MadSnake123 Yeah it just seemed to be missing something, like it was only partially finished. The story was pretty lackluster and uninspiring to me. The game in general had cool moments, no doubt, but it wasn't what I expected of a Zelda game. Maybe my expectations were too high. I was really excited and looking forward to it when I saw this trailer originally and was highly disappointed when I actually played the game. I never even replayed it because it was too boring to me.

@edgeblade35069 I'm going to watch a playthrough and see if I still feel the same way since it's been a few years now though. I want to be wrong about the game, for it to surprise me and actually be good. To show me that I just wasn't paying close enough attention to details or something, but I don't have high hopes for any of that.

@edgeblade35069 I agree 100%, TP was probably the worst main Zelda game in the series IMHO... Granted, with the insane amounts of quality and care used throughout the series, being the dullest diamond in the rough makes it a diamond. It's leaps and bounds over most other Wii games, and still deserves a seat among the greats of the Gamecube era. Still, as a Zelda game, it was pretty weak.

@Laneinator227 Keep in mind, Twilight was coming out after we had to embrace the cartoon world of Wind Waker (I liked BTW), The most hardcore Zelda fan wanted a game closer to OOT in visual style. Skyward actually seems the closest to OOT style while Twlight is almost an over correction with the darkness.

Miyamoto even told us that it was a hint that he didn't have a sword in his hand, and 90% of every zelda fansite u go to will have a page talking about how her body structure is almost identical to the master sword. E3 2004 was held in Los Angeles Convention Center, so I wouldn't call them "ASIAN NERDS" just nerds in general. This was darker and much more realistic looking Zelda (especially after Wind Waker) and thats the main reason for this emotional outburst. It was like standing there face to face with reborn Ocarina of Time once again. Which is exactly what Zelda fans have been waiting for since 2000.

During the 2008 E3, Shigeru Miyamoto was being interviewed and he said that the Zelda team was working on something completely different you can probably find the interview on YouTube. I don't know if it will be as great as Twilight Princess but it's Nintendo after all 99% of their games are good.
