  • how cute

  • I know this vid is old and all but does the chilla learn by it's on to take a bath or do you have to teach it ..if you have to teach it how? please i need help!!

  • @Ninalol100 The Chins know instinctively how to bathe in the sand/dust. Give them the dust to bathe in and they'll hop right in and start cleaning :)

  • @gemstar82 Thanks Alot :) xxx

  • i just got my chinchilla from petsmart too! i can't wait to give him a dust bath im trying to give him a few days to adjust before i really take him out

  • Actually, I've had two chinchillas and you really should give them dust instead of sand. It's better for them. You can go to a pet store and by jugs of dust.

  • @kuikman462 It actually is dust made especially for chinchillas. So she's safe :)

  • @kalebnation How much are you selling Chilla for? I'll go up to thirty dollars! :3 I'm broke

  • @kuikman462 the petstores sell 2 kinds of chin sand, one is more firm than the other, chins can use both but they do prefer the more dusty one, here in Denmark I buy the more dusty one in 25 KG bags much cheaper than buying the small bags, and you always have loads of sand for them.

  • chinchilla cant get mites or flees because of there coat

  • You have to go in there... your gonna get mites! or whatever chinchillas get.....

    Lmao

  • Awww! Normally Chinchillas scare the crap outta me but this ones soo cute!

  • you really need to learn your facts about chinchillas your doing alot wrong.

  • 3:04 i loled

  • blue coud is the best dust, alone with kaytee brand. some sands are not good for them. . . . its not supposed to be sand. its supposed to be dust. there is a difference. trust me i have a chinchilla

  • blue coud is the best dust, alone with kaytee brand. some sands are not good for them

  • @orchidoutlaw I use blue cloud dust and it makes them soooo much softer!

  • what heartless person dislikes this video?? its sooooo cuteeeeee!!!

  • awww!! So cutee!

  • i love how she like, hops with her back feet :D

  • The way you talk to her is so sweet. :D I love it, it's like she's your daughter.

  • I wanna Chilla now...time to go begging to the mother...Do they cost a lot?

  • I am pretty sure that that squeak was because she was Lonely or Cause she was exploring new things! By the way she is to CUTE! ;)

  • There are many products advertised for chinchillas that are not appropriate. That bath sand will not properly clean her and it will actually slice up her hair and make her fur look mottled. I recommend Blue Sparkle or Blue Cloud bath dust. She will LOVE her baths and she will get a proper cleaning. I see you are in CA...Blue Cloud is based out of California. You can get a 50lb bag for about $20 :-)

  • Too cute! <3 I look forward to getting a chinchilla. :)

  • I came here again to look at how cute and adorable Chilla is and the stupid Chinchilla pelts advert pops up at the right sidebar ==... (I know Kaleb has addressed this issue before)

  • What will happen if she gets wet?

  • @llamasATwalmart If you dry it really quick nothing should happen, but if it's not dryed properly or quick enough the chinchilla might get a sponge infection or something like that, and that can be fatal in some cases.

  • @somethingawful100 Wow! I had no idea! Luckily, I don't own a chinchilla and did that by mistake. Someday, I will get one, though! Thanks for the reply.

  • @llamasATwalmart No problem, happy to help. I don't own a chinchilla either but I'm thinking about getting one and I've done a ton of research :P

  • @llamasATwalmart There are some myths that getting a chinchilla wet will kill them instantly and other such nonsense. A wet bath, while it should only be done in a very few situations, is perfectly fine. But as was already said, it can cause sever problems if not done properly. There are many chin care sites on the web that will tell you how to perform a wet bath and when it is necessary to do so.

  • @kalebnation thats the wrong kind of sand youre giving her.

you might wanna be careful in what you use,

it supposed to be volcano dust.

  • @theitchyicecream The box said it is bath sand specifically for Chinchillas. So I trust the box :)

  • @kalebnation just be careful (;

  • @kalebnation I have that same house and if it's the same brand dust as the house it's all natural pumice sand, it's the right stuff :)

  • @kalebnation I use the same kind and the same house, chilla doesn't need fancy volcano dust.

  • @kalebnation yeah they've got like 3 typs. And my vet said it doesn't really matter which one as long as it not to tin that they breath it in to much. And not to tick or it won't work ;) as far as i can see yours just fine.

  • @kalebnation You take very good care of your chinchilla but she is right about the sand, but oh well it's your chinchilla not mine! :)

  • @kalebnation i have a ?, is there a good way to pick her up, cuz our book says to hold the root of the tail and put them on top of our hands, put my dad and sis just grab her, wats the best way to pick them up?

  • Comment removed

  • @theitchyicecream um mind ur own buisness. obviously his chilla is fine and happy

  • @theitchyicecream i like volcanos :)

  • i want one!!!! where did you get this adorable chinchilla?????

  • We give ours dandelion bites. He also loves Timothy hay and raisins.

  • she was probably scared because she didn't know that hole was an opening

  • tree?

  • You got your chinchilla at petsmart? So did I! I saw the box

  • @Yu7Yu7Me7Yume7 speaking of that, does the box have any info about exoctic pet vets, cause in case our chinchilla gets sick or injured, we need to know who to take her to.

  • @mesner5 Sorry. There's no info on the box..

  • dude thats a kwl video that music goes perfect with the little guy haha

  • what treats are those?

  • Does your Chinchilla smell bad, cause my mom says that they smell, but i really want one.

  • @dancer52100 chinchilla doesn't smell bad. my mom wouldnt let me get it before cus of that too, but chinchilla doesn't smell like rabbits and other small animals (i used to have rabbits and they smell a lot). But yea...you should totally adopt one. You just have to clean the cage, i clean mine every 1.5 - 2 weeks and it doesn't smell at all. I sleep next to mine's cage everyday =]

  • @dancer52100 I have a chinchilla and i can tell you that they actually have no natural smell if you smell them. Their fur is so thick that smells cant get in but if you leave the cage uncleaned for more then a week at a time then yes the cage will start to smell but not the chinchilla

  • I think chilla got hurt jumping Off

  • chin dont often get flees there fur is to dence

  • Oh my gosh! She is so cutee! I'm gunna get a chinchilla in a few months :D I'm so excited! Lol

  • how old is your chinchi ?:D ... I have a 3 month one but strangely it's tail hair is slowly falling ... I'm kinda scared.. I don't stress her at all because this might be a reason of fur falling ...yours is cute :X ... hope mine will become like yours :D

  • @YoloRapp if it's loosing fur that means it's scared

  • @gamecubeable It stoped now :) ..I think he had something else because he was bitting his tail :)

  • @YoloRapp that means he was stressed how long did you wait before handling him when you first got him?you should wait a week give and take to let him get used to his new eviroment because it's a big change from a pet store to a real home

  • Hahahahaha. that is so adorable!

  • @PEACExLOVExHEARTS2 I had a ferret, and now I would like a chinchilla too!

I think you should choose a Chinchilla since ferrets smell bad, eat everything, and steal everything too. Plus they think every corner in the house is a potty. :(

  • chinchillas r awesome, they so fat and cluddly like, hamsters, gerbils and other rodents aren't

  • @shinigami815 there not fat lol, there really agile and athletic. they just have very thick soft fur, most chins are only a couple of inches wide, smaller than a rat.

  • @smiley8120 i got 3 cats and 2 dogs i have 2 chillas and their fine you can put your chillla in the bathroom and watch him run around but you have to chilla proof it

  • I love the chinchilla music

  • am planing to get a chilla but am not really sure i have a few questions do they like to be touched? like can you put them on ur lap and they well stay there? and do they bite?

  • @GreatCommunistEmpire they like 2 b touched, they do bite sometimes and they like to move around

  • @GreatCommunistEmpire No Chinchillas do not like to really be held, they are more free roaming rodents. They do bite, when you buy a chinchilla you do not know if your going to get a really nice chinchilla or a meaner chinchilla. One of mine hates human interaction and bites every chance you get but I love her anyways, you should seriously think about buying a chinchilla they take a lot of time, care, and money.

  • OMG! I love Chilla!

I actually went AWWWWWWWWWWWW through most of it.

Don't chinchillas lose their hair or something if they get wet?

  • @InuSakuraNaruto No they do not lose their hair if they get wet, there are some situations where you may have to give your chinchilla a soap and water bath, they just don't like water and have a harder time drying. No one should give their chinchillas a water bath unless it is recommended by a vet who is knoweledgeable in chinchilla care or you know better and you also know what soaps are okay to use on them, like Dawn dish soap.

  • Basically every bath a chinchilla gets should be a dust bath preferably Blue Cloud or Blue Sparkle dust.

  • @bluejay56350 Oooooh, cool! thanks :D

  • AWHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • Chilla's whiskers are so adorable when she's eating her treat![:

  • 3:03 CHILLA IS STARING INTO MY SOUL!

  • i have a chinchilla! WEEEEW CHINCHILLIN WID CHINCHILLAZ

  • 3:31 There you go! GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY

    LOL

  • lol soo cute ;D they´r soo cute first time bathing, but is this really the first sandbath? ;P mine bath (the first time) when their just 1 week :D

  • @Mupp9797 1 week old they SHOULD NOT be getting a dust bath.

  • @Mupp9797 Sand shouldn't be used for dust baths for chinchillas, it should be chinchilla dust that is made specifically
