  • This song really does kick ass. Pixies are such legends.

  • Doolittle, the best album ever.

  • Best song off Doolittle.

  • Que buena rola vato...!!!

  • I also bleed Doolittle.

  • 11 people have no blood at all...

  • i fall upon the thorns of life, I BLEED!

    Shelley in the 1980's???

  • Some of you people are pretty silly, saying there's no good bands anymore. Here's some good bands for you people who seem to have lost hope in modern music; The Flaming Lips, The Shins, Fleet Foxes, Wolf Parade, Modest Mouse, The Black Keys. We just passed through a decade where the vast majority of popular music was utter shite. Rap, Screamo, Emo, all that stuff is either dead or dying. Music is only going to get better from here.

  • @alexofnottingham Even the RHCP are still making awesome music.

  • @alexofnottingham its true man this next generation is gonna be good for music.

  • @alexofnottingham idk, there are still some (BUT VERY LIMITED) types of those genres that can be interesting but only one song off their entire collection of albums you know? but yeah, Modest Mouse and The Black Keys are pretty good! Throw Weezer a bone in there too

  • i love her voice in this

  • @Carthsgtr Sorry if I was arrogant, but that guy was pissing me off. I like GNR and Metallica, I only said that because I wanted to see his reaction. Sorry.

By the way... Nothing Else Matters fuckin' rocks.

  • those first lyrics..."as loud as hell, a ringing bell"...SO FUCKING COOL I SWEAR

  • that bassguitar,,,ohhh

  • this song is about what it means to be alive

  • My Dad's album sleeve design.

  • PIXIES started the movement of great music.

    and they will never die.

  • @usedtosay troll alert

  • Reply to Usedtosay. Your weak dude you really know very little about music why are you even on here. Just cause you listen to music does not mean you fully feel or understand it just go off yourself and don't bring your little issues or mental problems onto youtube. Fuckin loser

  • Such an awsome fukn song?? Where eould we be without pixies??? HUH????

  • This is so much better than Nirvana...

  • @DougazP For sure

  • so good..

  • @Everyone

    "Hey... Shut up!" -Stewie Griffin

  • I love music from the 90s and especially this kind!

  • @TheLazyPoltergeist this song was made 1987

  • @mjndblain

    Anyway, i love it :P

  • I believe that everyband is infleunced my the pixies. Im just listening to them now and i fucking love them. Kinda found out from Nirvana and Nirvana is my favorite band.

  • Kurt Cobain was HUGELY influenced by Pixies. No 90s Grunge movement without them!

  • @pushthetempo2 Without Pixies or Nirvana? Cause I don't know how many "grunge" bands were Pixies influenced, but "grunge" was around years before Nirvana. Also, "grunge" doesn't exist, it's Alternative Rock.

  • @TitaniousGrubbs Grunge is a genre, so yeah it exisits. This is more like Alternative Rock. All the stuff on the radio today, that is Alternative Rock. Grunge is more like Punk Rock and Metal combined. Its fast but heavy and lots of distortion. But im sure you already know this.

  • a descent into madness

  • lol why am i too lazy to open itunes?

  • Fucking AWESOME!!! The Pixies wipe the floor with everyone! I just adore this band.

  • Cage the elephant is another great band thats heavily influenced by the pixies (:

  • what a wonderful song, one of the best ever made !

  • Thanks for posting this, it brings back so many great memories. What a powerful band and love Kim!!!

  • Y'all are crazy. Pixies created their own sound and flavor . Nirvana got along with them. It's called genre, not song biting.

  • wow, listen to the drumming at the start and tell me it doesnt sound anything like nirvanas song scentless apprentice

  • @MrSmashingpumpkins12 Hey sweetheart/jackass....the Pixies had their first shows in 1986. Far before Nirvana and that hopeless loser of a "guitarist" let alone a singer.

  • @DickLodge68 I was meaning to have a go at nirvana ripping off the pixies, not vice versa, I know how much cobain was influenced by this band and just saw how much he drew upon them in his style.

  • @MrSmashingpumpkins12 Cobain was a loser....although his "fans" would say otherwise. He couldn't play guitar for shit, sure in hell couldn't sing.....had a heroin addicted girlfriend. I say good riddance. That "offends" some people. Well, tough shit......he was a talentless piece of offal.

  • @DickLodge68 well nirvana are one of the most influential and best bands to ever be, if you think that their bad than your gonna have a LOT of people disagreeing with you there buddy

  • @DickLodge68 Your name is dick lodge, thats all i should really have to say to make you look like an idiot. And just because someone cant paint doesnt mean they cant create a masterpiece. And your calling someone a loser just because you dont like what he did. Im pretty sure most people have a favorite nirvana song so that would make him a winner you fucken dick lodger

  • @Jkup420 The name is a joke, jackass. Read what you wrote and tell me that you make any sense at all. Nirvana was awful and how people heralded Cobain like some sacred cow is beyond me! I've played guitar longer than you have existed...so think about it and maybe you should shut your pie-hole when you don't know what the fuck you are talking about!

  • @DickLodge68 Cobain made music that sang to teenage angst of the time. Angsting was cool. Nirvana made it cool. People could care less how good a guitarist he was or how great a singer he was. He stood for something and was influential to a generation.

  • @DickLodge68 Can i just say one thing to you sir. What are you smoking that made you crazy?

  • @rockerMASL Do you want to say one thing or ask me a question? No wonder you are a moron, you can't even handle the simplest basics of the English language! I don't smoke anything these days. What compelled you to think that Kurt Cobain was anything but a loser? That to me is crazy!

  • @DickLodge68 alright I admit i was bein an idiot haha, gettin all defensive n stuff. Thats just how people get when you start talkin bad about bands they like

  • @Jkup420 Hey, we all do! We ALL think we are right! Thanks for being honest. You name suggests pot. Just some advice...I smoked dope for over 25 years. Not preaching to ya but it's way better without! I'm sure you wouldn't like the old bands I do either. Easy to be offended and that's part of the problem. Have a good one!

  • @DickLodge68 oh man thank you thank you. you just changed my life. all this time, everything i thought was so cool isnt. i get it all so clearly now. damn, you are like jim morrison or something but not because the old me thought he was cool. so i guess you are dr phil maybe yeah thats it he seems cool now. wait wait what im i doing on a pixies video. do you think i could call you? i just hit replay shit i think im relapsing.................you suck.

  • @philbertlamblips Ah, wow that was funny! With your 8th grade mental capacity, that must have taken you a good half hour to write! Should have just said "you suck". I wasn't talking to you. So go piss-off child and let the grown-ups talk.

  • @DickLodge68

Judging by your music tastes on your profile I completely understand why you'd hate Nirvana. It's easy to see why, from an outward perspective, the majority of the grunge scene seemed like a step in the wrong direction for rock music. Was Kurt Cobain genuinely talented? Not really. But did he have a message? Most definitely. Does everyone get that message? Of course not. Hence why you have your opinions about the man and his music, which you're completely entitled to.

  • @jagmaster Judging by your profile...oh wait, you don't have one! But yes! You are correct, I think the '90s was the worst decade of music! Cobain's biggest "message" was when he decided to put a shotgun in his mouth and pull the trigger.

  • @DickLodge68

The aim of my comment was not hostility by any means. I like all of the same music you do, I just happen to like 90's music as well because that's what I grew up with and I can relate back to it. And like I said before, to someone whose primary music interests range from the 60's to the late 80's, the 90's were probably comparable to how most sane people feel about Justin Bieber. Regardless of these arguments, we should all just get back to listening to the Pixies.

  • @jagmaster Agreed! Funny you mention Bieber...because I could never trash him. That's beyond me. People trash-talk him because he's really just a kid that's famous and rich now! Good for him! But he's a pop star for teenage girls, big deal! Cobain came out and re-invented the Fender Mustang (which just happened to be my first guitar in 1982) but people thought he was some great guitarist? Not at all! Point being...he was a grown man and not very talented beside the regard he received.

  • @DickLodge68 Ok dude dont need to be a dick about music. anyways your nothing to me. i just wanted to see how mad you would get. later fag. have fun with life.

  • I hear Weezer's songs "Undone" and "Only In Dreams" in here! Ha no doubt the Pixies had an influence on Weezer and alot of other bands! Gotta love the Pixies :)

  • @hoobadoobler Yeah their cover of Velouria is pretty good

  • @USEDTOSAY Two direct words: Fuck you.

Pixies are one of the greatest bands of all time, Frank Black and Kim Deal are genious people and you're a stupid fuck, understand? Now, go listen to Metallica and Guns n' Roses. That's where you belong, shitty pants.

  • Comment removed

  • @USEDTOSAY

    1. You need to calm down

    2. Rock has always been chord. The four easy chords (Am, Em, C and D) That combo right there is about 10,000 songs. So.. um... yeah.. Your wrong in many, many, many ways.

    3. it sounds like you have some problems yourself. Is it your Father? Bad Grades? Maybe you should buy a guitar learn some chords and then maybe you too can be one of the greatest bands too.

  • @USEDTOSAY Calm the hell down, idiot. Take your ranting somewhere else.

  • @hoobadoobler You mean they did? I remmber reading weezer got there sound from these guys

  • @SATURDAYateSUNDAY

That's what I'm saying; Pixies had a strong influence on alot of bands :)

  • @hoobadoobler especially cage the elephant

  • If you want to destroy my sweater!!!

  • Didnt dinosaur jr do this before the pixies, albiet not as well.

  • Yup, you guys got it.. I WAS around when these guys came out and would turn everyone on to the Pixies who would listen. I had this funny feeling that I was listening to the future of music.. And low and behold as the years went on I was right. As I heard Weezer and Pumpkins and too many other to remember .. even recently Mother Mother. The Pixies are all over the place.. You gotta remember, in the late 80's NOBODY was doing what the Pixies were doing. They were in a league of there own.

  • @ejomo11

I would like to contradict that, sir. I know 3 perfectly good bands that "were doing their own things" and maybe even more. The Smiths, Sonic Youth and The Stone Roses.

    Have a good day :)

  • @aijunk2 He means that nobody was doing what the Pixies were doing, not that they were the only ones doing their own thing.

  • @ejomo11 you should be top comment ;)

  • The instrumental sounds like Weezer, the vocals is Weezer and Smashing Pumpkins. honestly, i even hear Billy Joel lol. listen to that song Terry.

  • high voice of kim and low voice of black fit so fucking perfectly

  • Ya this sounds a lot like the sweater song by weezer................what a rip off!

This band was way ahead of its time. I bet the band members were all talking about this when all these songs later came out...........who knew?

  • 9 people think Lil Wayne has talent...

  • pixies are the best!

  • Nobody knows... WE GO TO SLEEP!

  • AS VAMPIRES FEED, I BLEED!

  • reminds me of minutemens cover of Dr. Wu!

  • Going to see these guys in November with Raconteurs and Iron & Wine O.O going to be the best show ever

  • @DerKosmonaut77 hahaha 'arrogant art student cunt' i know exactly what you mean

  • @richcronin24 Sadly so do I... The "experemental visual art" type is the worst

  • Some people like ... this sucks ... be personal taste ... but call it the best ever ... I think it will be much arrogance ... in the arts and who understands them to be all very subjective ... thumbs down ... without arrogance

     get better!!

  • @DerKosmonaut77 wow someones mad at their ex gf

  • every song must start from some sort of inspiration or another song. its called the musical chop-shop.. you would know if you have a set of fingers and some strings to play on

  • The bass remind me Only In Dreams by Weezer :o

  • Gran disco

  • shit i heard this and i thought i was listening to Smashing Pumpkins! These guys are amazing!

  • as loud as hell

  • @Ronducular your and idiot

  • dude, where's this cave?

  • Am I the only fan that, when it comes to the members of the band, thinks of Black Francis first rather than Kim Deal?

  • @OpenedCanOfWhoopAss I'm right there with you.

  • @OpenedCanOfWhoopAss no i definitely think of black

  • I get goosebumps with the part: "there's a place in the buried west...". Oh my golly, this was the song that started my lifelong adoration for Pixies...

  • cant call it confusina, cause i know what im doing...as beer spills i rederect to the computer screen and then i see that i cant bleed but still i i i i i i i i i

  • Beyond ahead of their time, the Pixies were inimitable despite Kurt Cobain's statement. He was also a great artist who was giving due credit to a band more influential than >95% of original artists in the "genre" if it can even be labeled as a genre

  • Wow Kurt even said he copied from the pixies. Do your homework kid

  • haha. Nice that they were around years before Nirvana.

  • wow these guys steal from nirvana a lot wow oh wowwow

  • @Aepotheosis Bud. Pixies were around long before Nirvana existed to quote Cobain "I was basically trying to rip off the pixies." Nothing down on Nirvana, they are a great influential band, but you have to know that the Pixies are the influence to the influence.

  • @juices1234 no offense but i believe that abe lincoln said that you shouldnt take someones word literally until they can show proof or w.e. so culd u give me some sources

  • Comment removed

  • @Aepotheosis this is from the dvd, watch?v=-bXNkcVYJ8s but it is said that Kurt Cobain was influenced by the pixies, along with others... search it a bit... ;)

  • @Aepotheosis google kurt cobain quotes pixies. watch the first 5 seconds of loudQUIETloud. Evidence is all there. Cobain quoted multiple times of his deep influence from listening to pixies. Pixies first album debut: 1988 Surfa Rosa this album 89'.

Nirvana first album debut:: 1989 Bleach and nevermind 91. Sorry to break your heart shaped box, but Nirvana got it from the pixies bud, not the other way around

  • @Aepotheosis You want wikipedia articles about this shit then look it up yourself, don't ask us. Frankly the idea that The Pixies ripped off Nirvana is the sort of bullshit artist garbage that people groan at. Even if you ignore the fact that the two aren't all that alike, millions of people witnessed which came first. It's just junk knowledge that most of us store in the back of our minds but apparently is important to music trivia youths trying to one up their friends on retro song knowledge.

  • @IsraJones yhbt hand

  • @Aepotheosis DOUCHE!!!!

  • @metalgodess81 no u

  • why are we here??

  • <3

  • from minute 1:30 where Kim starts screaming i have a huge chill down my spine every time, amazing song!

  • This song needs to be blasted as loud as fucking possible.

  • pixiz

  • XD! 7 se desangran !! fuck!!

  • There's a place... IN THE BURIED WEST!

  • I found a CD of the pixies dolittle 20 years ago while cleaning an apartment. Stuck it in a player and was hooked! It is a ocean wave of intensity and moment quietness - so much the perfect American band! They just went out and did it - it didn't have to be perfect - I love that!!!

  • you want a fucking girl sing a period blood song ! w00t ham double damn nasty nasty song

  • weezer could only manage to use this song.. one of the softest pixies songs...

  • great song!!

  • YES! I LOVE it when Kim sings!

  • I don't understand why someone would click on a video if they knew they wouldn't like it since this is music!

  • I've lost this record :( Anything else but not doolittle, please

  • 2:00 is awesome

  • ★PIXIES RULE FOREVER★

  • THE PIXIES INSPIRED WAY MORE THAN CORGAN

  • @Stuie1973 they sure did, they inspired Corgan and Cobain. Smashing pumnpkins are amazing though.

  • 7 people bleed

  • That bass line is so sinuous.

  • @reader599 Yes .. I play this line of down sleeping in my bed and my dog sings better howling

  • I bleeee he heed deliciously quirky stuff

  • @sammyh1982 So true!!! you couldn't have said it better

  • It's amazing how one can hear the sound of so many amazing 90's alternative bands in a Pixies song like this..Smashing Pumpkins, Bush, Weezer, Blur, etc. Pixies really were the progenitor of all those bands and more and I hope they really get appreciated more and receive their due credit. I just really started listening to them a few weeks ago (embarrassingly), and I've been listening non-stop. Amazing.

  • @sammyh1982 Don't forget Nirvana and Radiohead.

  • Can't people just shut up and listen to a great song.

  • These guys the Beatles, the smashing pumpkins and REM are just everything to me....cast me away on a desert island with Revolver, Doolittle, Siamese Dream and Automatic for the people and ill die a happy man :D

  • @MrDanWZERO I assume you would need something to play the music on.

  • I'm a newbie to the Pixies, so at the risk of sounding like an idiot and getting a whole bunch of "you idiot" comments from super-fans, I'm gonna ask if that's Kim Deal on backing vocals. If it is, I love her voice.

  • @kmacmuzikmafia27 Yes, its the one and only Kim Deal. If you really want to here more of her vocals check out Pod by the Breeders its amazing stuff.

  • listen to this almost every time i cut myself

  • @BlueNote4003

posting stuff like that on yotube isn't going to help man.

    talk to someone.

  • What in the hell with 7 "dislikes?' Are you people taking crazy pills?????

  • what a classic.

  • You can definitely hear where Billy Corgan got insperation for "Today" from this. You can hear a little bit of "The Sweater Song" too.

  • @deadpoolcloud

Thats a great shout. Its funny because I bought this album and the blue album recently.

  • @deadpoolcloud Absolutely dead on... good call.

  • @deadpoolcloud Yeah hahahaha

To be fair they're not complete rips

    Well, Today isn't anyway :D

  • @deadpoolcloud im so confused.what your saying are bands are influenced by pixes?? i miss the older music.you have to dig through so many bands now to find good ones.i listen to everything so its even harder to keep up with literally all kinds of music.

  • seguro que nadie piensa esto al ver crepusculo

  • the opening is very similar to when i come around by greenday

  • Amazing song.

  • i was bit by a vampire the other day and he was surprised to see that i bled PIXIES PIXIES PIXIES PIXIES PIXIES PIXIES PIXIES PIXIES PIXIES PIXIES PIXIES PIXIES PIXIES PIXIES PIXIES PIXIES PIXIES PIXIES PIXIES PIXIES

  • the drums, guitar, bass, and vocals are amazing in this song!!!!

  • @nathanjamesbaker lol you wish

  • omfg this is like heroin right now...

  • @ElectricMusicNeed your gay

  • Their songs are so short, but still so full with meaning and diversity that it's impossible to listen to it just once or even ten times. More... and more... and more...

  • nobody else was making music like this in 1989.

"creep" and "the sweater song" owe their entire existence to this song

  • errrrr...try jawbox, new fast automatic dafs, neds

  • @nabsmo

pixies predate jawbox by about 5 years..jawbox's first ep came out in 1990..by that time the pixies had released1 ep and 4 albums

new fast automatic daffodils started in 1988 and their obsucure and quirky lyrics owe alot to frank black...instrumentally their music was awesome though and different from the pixies

  • @97bruin you dumb

  • @chrismeow12 Like your 1inch penis.

  • I like how 27 people like Kurt Cobain's quote. Fitting.

  • A true classic

  • @22ness0hayden like your mom and me last night

  • @jesssports11 you fuck dead people? lol

  • the bass in this song is so frickin nice, rock on kim deal
