It's funny how Asians would mess up something, but would always follow whatever some random people told them to do, and say okay. Try to do this in Oakland.
The reason cars block the intersections is that when traffic is so congested, cars making a right turn onto a street back up that street even more, so the cars across the intersection going straight towards the cars that just turned right never get a chance to go through when their light is green because the street has been backed up from all the right turners, so if you're going to get anywhere at any time you have to go straight when the light is green and block the intersection
Sounds like a great opportunity for SFPD to bring in some revenue. Then again, that would depend on them actually doing their jobs. Wishful thinking on my part.
I always make sure that the intersection will be clear before moving, especially when dealing with inner city traffic. I've learned from experience, although many people apparently don't care.
I also stop before entering the intersection if there is no room for me to get completely across... one time this driver behind me honked, the light turned red and had I gone I would have been in the middle of the intersection. I opened my door and yelled at him calling him a stupid mother fucker. ;) JUSTICE
I always stop before I might potentially block an intersection, pedestrian crossing or a marked "keep clear" F-line intersection or firehouse area.
I've lost track of how many people have either honked at me for daring to keep that 2-to-3 car blank intersection space empty in front of me... or passed me only to switch lanes in front of me to take that space and block the intersection.
I don't take it personally, I just obey traffic law.
oh, right by the Greyhound station. I used to practically live there. Certainly slept in that station a few nights. I met a guy who told me he had been hit by a car on four different occassions while living in SF.
why are there always assholes blocking intersection?
this shit happens in any big city!
It's unacceptable!!!

I know how you feel, sometimes I just want to get out the car and point at the traffic signs or pavement markings.
