  • Best small rotor "motor" engine I ever owned. Wankel was a smart guy. Things will crucify a red line. Good times. RIP.

  • am i the only one that notices this engine is backwards?

  • i always thought 10a and 12a engines were single rotor, and i'm pretty sure you can get a 26b quad rotor...

  • @hobotob0 there are never been single rotr cuz it would be to unbalnced

  • @KLONIME1001 there are single rotor motors everywhere, just not in cars.

  • Its amazing how they make so much power from something small

  • How many chambers are there to these engines? Just 2?

Also are these generally big engines? Could they fit in a MX6 or a ford Probe?

  • the rx7 had a one rotor engine i believe, the new rx8 has a two rotor engine called the renessis. they are very light and compact with a very nice P/W ratio due to the all-alluminum construction. the larger renessis would likely fit into a probe engine compartment with room to spare.

  • Wouldn't just 1 triangle piston thrown around like that cause your car to idle or run rough?

I can see where 2 pistons would balance out.

I saw one engine at my friends house... There's like slates that go in between and on the sides of two pistons... Very cool.

  • Both FC and FD Rx7's (2nd and 3rd generations) have twin rotor 13b's.

The earlier rotary engines only had one, and the later 20b's had 3, which were race engines. 4 rotor engines are out there. I don't think anyone really ventures into more than that.

  • thats awesome, now we know...

  • meandmyevo you tell crap. In the Rx7 are always 2 Rotors.

  • @2C00L4UB1TCH Now I know, thanks for being a complete asshole you little whore.

  • @meandmyevo only the rotor housings are aluminum, the plates on the ends and in between are iron, the renesis is a 13b, its the same size since the first gen basically, the next gen rotary motor the '16x' will be all aluminum and slightly larger, just info :P

  • no i dont think they're big engines, you could easily fit a 13b in there, not sure about a 20b

  • Yeah, fairly small. The 13b is especially known for its light weight, which makes it a strong competitor despite the relatively low output and displacement. (Comparatively 1.3L)(13B)

  • it's got one combustion chamber for each rotor, however each rotor has 3 points of detonation.

No, these engines are all small.

    the 10a is 1000cc 2 rotor

    the 12a is 1200cc 2 rotor

    the 13b is 1300cc 2 rotor

    the 20b is 2000cc 3 rotor

    the 26b is 2600cc 4 rotor.

Yes, you could fit a 26b in a ford probe as well as all the other motors.

  • Well you're on your game. Sadly I don't have the probe any more.

And I thought they only made them up to 2 rotors... Geez.

  • Well said sir.. well said.

  • @monono954

well i learned something today, i always thought 13b's had three rotors.

either way they still haul ass.

  • i'm so enlightened right now.....

  • brap tv lol

  • aha brapppppp. this video is as descpiptive as a dick

  • im confused

  • This explains everything!!

  • lol BRAP tv, bbbbrap brap

  • dont the car vibrate a lot

  • No..... there are two rotors... they compensate each other...

  • in addition, because it compensates itself, it does not need a heavy flywheel like a cylinder enginge to stabilize its vibrations

  • huh thats cool
