  • thats an awsome place.... and also nice fish

  • lol that seal was sleeping .

  • where is this

  • Hi TheFishJunkie, as I watched this video i began thinking that the whole scene looked really familiar, like I was there or something.... then, suddenly, my suspicians were confirmed when I actually appeared in the video. thanks for the tips that evening. i'm planning on going after the sea trout this weekend atctually. I was browsing yhoutube for some hints when I came accross this. peace!

  • That's funny. April/May is the best time for sea trout in Newfoundland. The Gut is always good but I hear Bay Bulls is where to get the monster browns.

  • I saw the pictures of the slinks you kept on quidi vidi on backyard reports.

  • Backyard Reports? Wasn't me. Catch and release only.

  • Very nice Video......thanks for sharing.....we get sea trout a little bigger here on the Northern Peninsula....makes an excellent shore lunch.

  • hey man what kind of fly are you using btw great video 5/5

  • I was using San Juan Worms, Hare's Ear nymphs and small shrimp patterns

  • are the shrimp patterns waited

  • Yes with a beadhead

  • That's Kidi vidi in the video...As you can see from the fish at 3:24, it has been caught before. Maxilla plate has been ripped right off by someone too lazy to properly remove the spinner. All the rivers in SJ hold monster trout, probrally because of two factors: high siltation and high sewage.

  • Lovely video. How big do the sea trout get in this area?

  • Most of the sea trout are around the same size as in this video. From March to May, larger sea trout move in from the ocean and start to enter the rivers to spawn. This is when you can catch the real monsters. The largest brown trout I've heard landed was one over 30lbs.

  • Thanks for the information. Beside targeting large fish when they return into rivers, do anglers have the opportunity to target them on the beach during their ocean phase?

In Denmark, where I fish at times, there is a fairly popular beach fishery for sea-run brown trout. Most of the fish average between 1 and 10lb, while bigger fish are caught at times. The current embedded video on my channel is on this beach fishery actually. Check it out if you are interested.

  • No one fishes from the beach in Newfoundland. Don't know why exactly. Most people wait until the sea trout enter the rivers mouths. I've watched your videos before and have thought about trying beach fishing. maybe next time.
