  • it's a work of surreal genius ... it'll be archived in years to come whether they like it or not? :))

  • keep coming back to this one, brilliant

  • I think Hamilton looks a bit like Buster Keaton.

  • This is really poetic and beautiful.

  • Pitchfork gave this album a U"2" out of ten ...I've no idea which strange parallel world version of U2 would come up with a stadium sound for...weirdos. Still give me the noble Carrion any day.

  • love this tune!

  • Good sound, but I hate ventriloquist dolls!

  • Love this song. Heard BSP sing it on Friday night at Berwick Village Hall. Amazing night.

    She made me jump.

  • British Sea Power join Razorlight, The Cribs, Darwin Deez and Noisettes at Get Loaded in the Park – Sunday 12th June, Clapham Common. Limited early bird tickets selling fast!

  • And the award for most pretentious lyrics of all time goes to.....

BRITISH SEA POWER OMG COME ON DOWN!!!!

    music's good tho.

  • Can't wait to see this band live in my home town Brighton next month!

  • The song is totally inspired. I love the papier mache marionettes in the video.

  • How can ANYBODY compare this band to the likes of either Coldplay / Clayplod or Arcade Fire just beats me..... they have absolutely NAFF ALL in common with BSP.

    BSP are frankly beyond compare!!!

  • how beautiful is the girl dancing in this video who knows who she is

  • @kandinskij She plays violin in the band, she is indeed beautiful

  • this video SCARES ME but the song is awesome

  • the beatles are over-rated anyway

  • @daveeeeeeeeeed1

  • Wood looks very much like Eric Cantona,

  • Saw these tonight at stockton, singing this song, the vibe was off it!

  • I was having a very cryptic morning & then i saw this video & it was all decoded.

  • Hammer house of horror meets Thunderbirds on acid..This is one helluva song...if you'll pardon the pun. Thanks Rough Trade.

  • I don't know why this music video hadn't reached 1,000,000 this song is so goooood

  • A carlton corsair, a raleigh twenty yeah! Excellent lyrics.

  • Absolutely fantastic! Hurrah for another great British band!!

    TootlePip.TBG.

  • What a band.

  • absolutely stunning!!!!

  • i like the band , bu the puppets scare me a little . . .

  • why's there so much lag on this video? it's a little strange...

  • there is another shorter version of this video on you tube which is 'in synch' ...but I prefer this out of synch version (but I dont know which is the proper correct version)

  • Great song. Big Daddy vs King Kong Kurt

  • they just too creative, man some people would love this video too much and others hate it :P the only flaw in the video is the puppet's mouth dont move

    -regards

  • Ye want tae hear their latest offering.

    The Old Man of Aran

    its feckin awesome

  • This song always gets me pumped up!

  • Shame about the Subs, they are a real distraction. BSP are fast becomming one of my favourite Bands.

  • Great song. Love the video.

Although the sound and video are horribly out of sinc.

  • Great song, not sure what the lyrics mean though (?)

  • Is the music supposed to be so off with the video? It's really lagging.

But anyway, I love this song. The album actually took me a few listens to really get into, but that's probably because it takes a few listens to piece the lyrics together.

  • Serious mind trip for me, but it didn't hold my interest too long. Creative, though. ^^ 5/5

  • ppppp.........fffff

    papusile alea :-s

  • Possibly one of the most underrated bands in the world right now.

Have seen them live and they blew me AWAY.

    Up the Sea Power!

  • Is it me or are BSP obsessed with the soccer am wrestlers when writing this song!

  • i think the link is more about big daddy, but you never know.

  • Anyone hear this by accident off a cd which came off a magazine? Cant remember the name of it, i think it was The Word.

  • "The Word" is correct

  • sorry for the fans and the band but i feel scary watching this vid :-(

  • whimp O-o

  • whats up with them always having stuff in their mouths

  • they didnt get enough food as kids -_-

  • this is scary as balls, but also kind of good...

  • The slow string part at the beginning sounds vaguely familiar. Any ideas anyone?

  • I don't know but it kind of reminds me of something Radiohead would do.

  • Superb song, and a wonderful video - a kind of nostalgia for Dada. As for the comments below, it's as well to remember that Oasis and Coldplay are the bands that the advertising suits like...

  • Amazing

  • Once again I will say, much better than Coldplay or Oasis.

I dare to say that this group is as good as the beatles.

  • @donoghue72 well, obviously not as good as the Beatles.

  • @Ledonist not as popular as the Beetles

  • @donoghue72 I agree with one half of this.

  • @donoghue72 but it will always stay a matter of opinion

but maybe i'll agree with it

    maybe not

  • @donoghue72 i dare say you are talking complete shit.

  • @donoghue72 I have to agree. British Sea Power are pushing the boundaries in the same way that the beatles did in the 60's. A totally original band with lots of depth.

  • @donoghue72 pedazo de grupo, loren;

  • @donoghue72 Is there anything that is NOT better than Coldplay, Nickelback and Oasis?

  • @donoghue72 As good as? Better.

  • @donoghue72 shut up!

  • @donoghue72 LMAO

  • seconded.

  • Get a reality test and stop taking acids!

  • acids? you mean acid , its is a plural word even without the "s".

  • ...suddenly u realized that u are that faggot

  • Did I hurt your feelings? LOL fuck your master.

  • NO FEELINGS

  • i laughed my ass off reading your comment:D:D although i like this song..you really use words as if you would make a poem or shit:D "the black dick of lucifrer":D:D:D

  • Dude, thats fucked up. Get help, you sound like one of those crazy WBC people. Also, to those who gave jmd620 thumbs down, can't you tell he was being sarcastic?

  • I was talking about Lucifer. not Jmd620.

  • I know, but you still sounded freaking crazy though. I mean "lucifers black cock"? Isn't that kind of racist?

  • You might be right about that, but I wasn't reffering it to Black People.

  • God isnt real.

  • but baby jesus is!!, grown up jesus however is a hippie..

  • best song in a long time Fuck oasis and coldplay

  • ehh how about no? haha

  • la voz del vocal cm hace un parecido al (dead cap for cute)

  • Amazing song. shame the video gives me nightmares. Creepy as...

  • fucking creppy...

  • wow, im a metalhead but i loved that!

  • Great SOng

  • This song always gets comparisons to U2 but it sounds much more like the shoegaze band the Lilys than it does U2 or Arcade Fire. A great epic classic no matter what.

  • good shit!

  • great lyrics, great song, great band!

  • Another great video by a breat band. Please come back to Buffalo!

  • so good it hurts. i fuckin' love this song

  • my sentiments EXACTLY

  • I don't get it...is Lucifer bad or something?

  • Lucifer is another name for the devil

  • Just saw these guys last night. Great live show. Very good musicians.

  • EASY! EASY! r.i.p. big daddy

  • cool stuff

  • im glad BSP keep their own originality rather than sink in the new age "CG and high tech videos are a MUST" wave that everyone does,5 stars to BSP :)

  • great song

  • I am totally blown away. Great song.

  • You'd think though with a band of this high a profile someone somewhere would be spending more more than $15.60 total on the bands wardrobe and video production.

  • Has anybody ever read the liner notes from this album?

It is seriously a load of the most entertaining nonsense ever written!

  • Haha so true. I must of read it through about four times and I'm still none the wiser.

  • Great song.. great video.. and it was released on my 25th birthday.. what a present! :)

    ~Moondanser~

  • so love this song!

  • C'est génial!

    It's something shocking and fascinatig...

I breathe '30s atmosphere, and such a modern sound....

And movie reveals this mood very well...

  • owned by the silent bombr

  • yeah you can really take someone seriously with a pseudonym like "rhaastaa"

  • Which is...?

  • Might I reccomend Frankie Goes to Hollywood or the Pet Shop Boys? How about some Bronski Beat?

  • I wish whoever posted this would disable comments so that the sublime experience of watching/listening to this song wouldn´t be soured by reading comments from such social detritus as "cheeryvibez" and "rhaastaa" (don´t their chosen log-in names just tell you everything you need to know?). I´d love to know who they think writes "good" lyrics. Actually, no, scratch that, I really WOULDN´T like to know.

  • poor rhassta is disturbed...from here i can imagine you horrible/horrified reaction if u look at the 1st Chainsaw Massacre movie by Hooper (in 1974) or other classic horror movies....

you need to exercise your brain a little more...

u should stop livin' in a smog...and maybe the sun will clear your minds...

  • Great song!

    Hmmm, nonsensical?

Just because you don't understand something doesn't mean it doesn't make sense. Shock horror, some people may even find it interesting!

  • This Is Music, no doubt about it.

  • The lyrics are far from nonsensical. Maybe some of the references (Pope Benedict as a teen, British bicycles, evil biblical locations, etc.) are a little too obscure for the tastes of some listeners, but as the previous poster indicated, they can be deciphered. If everything was instantly understandable and spelled out for you on the first listen, you wouldn't be expected to think about what you were hearing.

And "talentless" is pretty far off the mark...

  • I can't thumb this comment enough.

  • the lyrics arent nonsensical at all. do a bit of research. Its refreshing compared to shitty pop songs out now.

  • British Sea Power - love this band

  • wow

  • creeeepy

  • I love you guys! Please come to Cali. Please.

  • What do you mean "not that cool?" That they're representing Hitler as evil?

  • svankmejer!!!!

  • Anthemic,great sound.

  • brilliant song

  • It kind of reminds me of the Czech film 'Faust'.

    Great song, great video.

  • The worst part that is the dummies are scary

  • Brill video! I wonder who directed it? It's very Kenneth Anger - very "Inauguration Of The Pleasure Dome" meets Supermarionation

  • Hamilton himself directed it apparently.

  • Actually, I believe Hamilton the lead singer set the whole thing up himself.

  • Overall sentiment is existentialist, with a return to nature worship. Will humanity return to nature, or pursue industrialization ("silk/cherry wood" and "cyanide {Hitler died of it}/Kevlar" [natural vs. manmade]).

Lucifer = bringer of light, and can be equated with enlightenment or knowledge. "Several lucifers come..." might mean leaders with opposing ideas of "real knowledge."

Rather than engage in the fray, distance yourself from the conflict...take a bicycle ride and enjoy the moment.
