Haven't kept up with the technology? GM was a pioneer of and is the leader in Hydrogen Fuel Cell Technology for automobiles. GM was and is a pioneer in electrification of the automobile. As for EV1 vs Volt vs Tesla. With the Volt once you run out of electricity a gasoline powered generator keeps you going, by supplying electricity, and never driving the wheels. With EV1 and Tesla, once your battery dies after 150-200 miles, you're stuck, you can't call AAA and ask for a can of electricity.
