  • Fantastic video !

I went there last week and i saw only one leopard walking along the road!

I think the one who doesn't like this video is only jealous!

    Guido from Italy.

  • @Guysimpsons77:

    Grazie mille Guido. :)

  • What is the name of the music?

  • what you don't show is the riduclous traffic jam of jeeps racing around calling each other on GSM's and scaring the wildlife. I just asked our driver to stop by a quiet waterhole and watched birds, amazingly a leopard walked up, then of course the driver got on the phone within a minute or two the hundresds of other jeeps arrived. Yala =despoiled too many jeeps !

  • @wilfwilliams: Sorry to hear about your bad experience williams, but luckily i have rarely come across the traffic that you describe. it's probably because i always go to Sri Lanka in end of February or beginning of June, and avoid the holiday season crowd. and on top of that i also i make sure i go to yala during a week day, so i avoid the local crowds as well. AND on top of that, i always do early morning safari, which means i enter the park at 6am. :)

  • nice video..

Is it possible to spot leopards on a day trip from mirissa to yala & return?

  • @skshamshir1 Thanks :)

well, yes, you can, leave Mirissa in the morning, get there by lunch time, have lunch and start an afternoon safari around 3pm (it's useless trying before 3pm, its too hot and all animals hide in the shade) and if you are lucky, you can come across a leopard coming out to drink water. I have seen more leopards during the early morning safari though. (6am at the park entrance)

  • amazing country

  • thank you Daphne & Oliver. yes, we were very lucky too. but only on the third day, the first two days we didnt see much, but i wouldnt leave the park until i saw leopards :) so we kept going back until we finally did :)

  • wow! you've got some great footage yourself too! kind regards, Daphne & Olivier from The Netherlands

  • The best part was the scene with the Cheetas/Tigers. Tamil Tigers are coming, hiding and will attack.

  • Kanaya: The pictures were taken with a Canon 400D with a 100-400mm lens :)

(the videos were done with the Casio Exilim Pro HD video camera.)

  • what is the camera that you have used to take still images
