As a former Evangelical Christian who is now Eastern Orthodox, I'm glad to find this hear. The Jesus Prayer is a gift to all Christians and is but one of many practical disciplines that give expression to our faith moment to moment, aiding us in dispelling "the thoughts," resisting the devil and learning to pray without ceasing. Very interesting video. I think mysticism is a great gift to mankind, and more people could learn from these teachings. I practiced Buddhist meditation for a while, I still do, but one day after meditating I just had this feeling I should return to some Christian practice and explore that. So, I started reading the Bible and I picked up a Protestant rosary and learned about the Jesus Prayer. "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner."
