I have basically the same rifle and just wanted to add my BAD lever does not fit properly. The back is too thick and is basically activating the bolt catch. Gonna try and grind it down this evening and see if i can get i to fit. Otherwise this is a great rifle. Just had it out this weekend and it functioned great once the bad lever was taken off. Weighs as much, after accessories, as an aluminum model.
I have not heard of that happening, and I have not had any problems with mine, and no thay don't come like that, at least not mine, but you could have it done, or just get a colt bolt that is. if you got one for free you got a deal, you will like it. check bushmasters web site you mite be able to get one from them to.
I hear these break at the rear under the buffer and behind the pistol grip. I got one for free and don't know what to do with it yet. Do they stake the gaskey and shot peen the bolt?
I really liked your review. I held a Carbon 15 today and really liked it. Never had a semi-auto rifle before and am thinking about this one....it was only about $645 as well. Its good to see yours holds up in all conditions and after so many rounds, and you have military experience which ups your credibility. I've read a lot of bad reviews online but you never know how people treat/clean their weapons and if they are just full of BS anyway.

Your Carbon 15 looks sweet. I'm getting upgrades for mine slowly. I just got a decent UTG quad rail system and VFG for it. I do love it. My next AR, I think I'm going to build it from scratch tho.
@GunsNGauze I think I will do the same. but I really want a 308 AR platform. a good semi auto sniper rig. but this bushmaster has really inpressed me. do let anyone tell you that there no good, they said the samething about glock when they friest came out. and there one of the best hand guns out there. I'm glad to see some more people are buying the carbon 15.

@MrChuckwilliams Hi chuck thank for your comment, it's true I really do love my carbon 15. I just got done duracoating it in dark earth, and that stuff is great. you will not be let down with this weapon,it is very relieable,and it is very light, and is great on long hikes, I just humped 3 miles in the MT. up here in montana today, and it felt great to carry, I have had meany of diffrent AR's in my 25+ years of shooting and military service.and I would most definitely go to war with it.

I have a carbon 15 2011 its absolutely great i noticed u have a quad rail and magpul moe grip and stock. do those accesories fit well with that gun.
