  • 1:40 Howard Hesseman paying his dues before WKRP

  • The plot is laughable and the acting is awful!!!

  • Johnny Fever!

  • This picture is a crock....most people went to see it for the ass-whippins....the message of non violence is silly...the free school advocates non violence, while relying on BJ to exact revenge in their name...this is the same hippocracy they leveled against "the establishment"

  • @abcbatman1966 ever heard of Peace Through Strength??

  • This is a good movie with a positive message. It's hard to understand people's hate towards it. Not everthing will be relavent to the issues we have today. This movie just gives a positive message that could be relevant but honestly isnt competely.

  • I stood in line for hours to see this. I'm ashamed of that. This movie SUCKED! I want my money back.

  • @owg59 damn how old are you lol

  • Wow....the 70's realy did suck and this is embarassing in every way humanly possible

  • I'd forgotten all about him.

  • Just as stupid today as it was 40 year ago.

  • @dirtyharrypotterful

You are the stupid son of a whore !!!!

  • Heil Billy Jack!!!

  • Johnny Fever lol!

  • avoid the two sequels THE TRIAL OF BILLY JACK(1974), and the final installment from 1976 BILLY JACK GOES TO WASHINGTON.

  • LOL, hey that dude smoking the J looks kinda like Jeff (Skunk) Baxter from the Doobie Brothers...;)

  • Never understood marshal arts movies. All anyone has to do is go down to Walmart buy a gun and shoot them in the leg.

  • @kenfuscious This film isn't really about marshall arts. It's a fantasy about getting even for abuses in society when "the system" is ineffective or corrupt, and the limits of non-violent philosophy in the real world. Lots of followers of Ghandi and King were abused, injured, jailed, or killed before there was social change in their societies, but without sacrafice, perhaps nothing would have changed. The underlying question is whether violence is ever an ethical way to effect social change.

  • @alphakid42 Geeez lighten up. I was just trying to make a humorous observation that Marshal Arts as a form of self defense in the post gun powder era would be 99% of the time ineffective. When I saw this as a kid it was about Marshal Arts the rest of the story was badly acted and corny. Yes violence is sometimes an ethical way to effect social change.

  • @alphakid42 master sun tsu once wrote that war is an unfourtunate but nessesary state of affairs and that ultimate excellence lies not in winning every battle but defeating your enemy without ever fighting

  • As a fan of Billy Jack I will simply say that it's about the utopian ideal that there should not be any racial prejudice. Of course there's a harsh reality in the conflict between those with power and those without. What I like is that Billy Jack has a guiding set of principles and appears to want to live life in accordance with them. Not to mention there's enough violence to suit any masochistic male.

  • EXCELLENT movie! x0]

  • What is even more amazing is that the critics did not rate this movie as a good movie but the people decided that it was!

  • I knew Johnny Fever was a hippie!

  • When I was 11, I thought this movie was the greatest celluloid effort EVER!!! At 51, I see it for what it was: a political statement with a utopian message for those under 21 in 1971 and it had a decent theme song. It was perfect for the idealistic young people in the waning years of the Vietnam war. But sadly laughable to those who've lived ANY amount of life since then.

    Sorry...just my opinion.

  • i never heared of this film before But it look's bloody gd :-) i thank my friend who shared this with me :-)

  • "An Indian isn't afraid to die". Sounds funny coming from an Irishman.

  • @KenMacMillan Billy Jack in the movie was a half-breed, Indian and white. Even Obama calls himself black, even though he's half-white and actual African (not even American black). Besides, lots of whites were adopted by American Indian tribes, and they fought just as ferociously against other whites defending their adopted tribe. So why are you so confused? So stop being ignorant and read a little history.

  • @feral1404 Yeah, they play up to the whole super indian powers thing that hippies bought into back then. It's funny to watch nowadays.

  • I saw this as a kid but now as an adult I see it for what it was.Anti White male liberal dumb shit.Thats why they made him half Indian.

  • @bustercotten332 Part two was even worse. After they accused vietnam vets of making women & children dig their own grave & then gunning them down I had to shut it off.

  • @bustercotten332 He IS half Indian stupid.

  • this movie billjack and trial of billyjack the fight scenes. I did in real life and the same reasons.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • omg Billy Jack is one of my fav movies, the Trial of Billy Jack is just as good, me and my dad would watch these two movies all the time when I was younger and I still love it to this day and proud to call myself a native american. Today was the day i found out the name of the movie! \o/ I forgot the name but found it on google, Im SOOO glad and gonna watch it again very soon BILLY JACK FTW!

  • I have seen this movie over 100 times, and still love it

  • @hangman1469 Someone needs a real life, like a 1000 times!!!

  • @lp32862 someone needs to keep their opinions to themselves.

  • I have seen this movie over 100 times, and still love it

  • Los Hippies son despreciables

  • 1:40 Johnny Fever!!!!!

  • a great film

  • Isn't that the guy who was the teacher in "the Head of the Class" smoking a joint?

  • omg i loved billy jack.

how come we never see this on the old moives on tv

  • 1 of the best b films ever made.

  • the ice cream parlor was my favorite scene. does anyone know where it is on youtube or anywhere else?

i loved this movie as a child (and i still do) billy jack was my hero and someone i looked up to...

im gonna go watch our vhs tape now...lol

    <333

  • @alwayzmeteri should be on piratebay or isohunt or some such if you wanna download it mate.

  • oh yes what movie this

  • I just go berserk !

  • I just bought the 4 dvd set of Billy Jack collection.

  • it was a movie, damn. It made us feel GOOD about EVERYBODY's equal rights... we came out of the movie ready to defend our fellow man.. except whitey maybe. we focused so much on minority injustice we couldn't see what was coming down the road 25 yrs later.. Hip Hop and Equal opportunity fuckin' over the very people who gave their heart and time and energy for other people... we know better now, so I say Build a "bigger fence" and put all you dumb fucks in it!

  • @sixstring2slim what the FUCK are you talking about dumbass?!! this doesn't have SHIT to do with hip-hop and for your info it was 'whitey' aka George W. who fucked things up to the point they are now. Either make sense or shut the fuck up!!

  • Funny how all these misguided white libs created the ground work for the immagration problem in AZ now. Oh, the white man is always the bad guy. All the killing happening in AZ and Tx is caused by hispanics, but the anger to make him do it was caused by rednecks in this movie. How dumb and more dumb to be a democrat just a bunch of enablers. The only thing great in this piece is the ground braking fight scenes. Nothing more. Tell those hippies to ram that guitar up their asses.

  • Ummm......IF White People are the Devil as this movie portrays....and Whites are Inherently EVIL.....

    .

Then....WHY are MOST of the actors here Honkeys?

    .

    Clue me in?

    .

Hey....I am Irish/Cherokee...does that mean I have to HATE my IRISH blood?

  • @ThoughtTraveler You just don't understand. It isnt about race/color in basics, it's about the big wigs that gave and still give whites and bad name. Thats not to say that all other ethinicities dont have those corruptions either.

  • never heard of it or anyone in it

  • This was an amazing Movie. I seen it when I was a kid in the theatres--- Howard Hessman. He was so funny even then.

  • Fucking leftwing propaganda you can see this came out when the US started to turn into shit because of all the fucking hippy losers.

  • @SteveSmith26

Yea... you're right... we need to go back to a time where people get shot at for exercising their constitutional right to protest - or the pre-civil rights days when discrimination was legal and blacks had to sit in the back of the bus and drink from separate water fountains - or perhaps go back further when women couldn't vote. Yep.. now there's a version of a country to be proud of right?

When you're done watching Sean Hannity maybe you could define LW propaganda for me

  • When I go outside exercising my pride of being white, I get beat up by those so-called peace-loving hippies. How is this better? I mean, every white pride march or protest get violently attacked by "anti-racist" criminals so where is the freedom?

  • @SteveSmith26 - Well, aside from the fact that I'm having difficulty believing your claim, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt - but in the absence of any real understanding of what takes place at a white pride march, I don't feel qualified to able to address your question.

I will say, however, that any group of people maintaining a sense of pride for their race, when in fact they had no say in how they would pop out of the womb, is indeed a racist group.

  • It makes no sense to be proud of something you had no choice about. If you think that being white is something to celebrate, then simply celebrate and feel lucky and grateful. But pride is something you earn.

There is virtually no intelligent logic in claiming pride for that which you were not given a choice.

It's like being dropped by way of parachute from an airplane - luckily landing on an obscure island in the middle of nowhere, and then saying you're proud to live there.

    Are you a racist?

  • They should make a remake where there is a revenge against those fucking hippy losers.

  • Really LOUSY acting - really Strange photo angles - and a great story line!!!

  • these billy jack movies were great and still are they really define the events that happened at that time like the kent state massacre or the corrupt government these movies are really good

  • All I know is that this movie really kicked off martial arts and all it's movies. Bruce Lee's Green Hornet caught the interest and Billy Jack brought in all the big bucks. The movie it self sucked, it was action that made the money.

  • i like the scene where he makes the guy drive his cars into the lake

  • @antz733 I like that scene, too. And as National Lampoon noted about Ted Kennedy if he had driven a Volkswagen Beetle (which floats on water), he'd have become President. Too bad the Posner kid was driving a corvette. he should have had a beetle.

  • Was that Johnny Fever from WKRP tokin' on a bone??!!!

  • Yes!

  • Yeah... he was in a comedy troupe called The Committee.

  • They should remake these films. My choice for playing Billy Jack: TED NUGENT.

(of course you know I'm joking)

    :>)

  • We need another of these. They were comedy gold :D

  • This was the only good billy jack movie. The rest of them sucked!

  • Someone correct me. Law enforcement protocol requires Billy Jack to exit the building, put his arms against the wall, his back to arresting officers, get frisked and be handcuffed "safely & securely" behind his back and be taken to jail. But ... I still liked this Hollywood liberty with the truth.

  • william its impressive to me that someone picked up on this technical law enforcement procedure it makes me wonder are you or were u in law enfocement lol anyway good find

  • I was never a sworn LE officer unless you count being an assistant district attorney 20 years ago. I knew about the "arrest procedure" from trying a few "resisting arrest" cases and having real cops explain it to the jury.

  • no protocol in this era.

  • a classic piece of american history. you've got to remember that this was a time when our country was in turmoil over Viet Nam and social injustice

  • I still like Billy Jack, but I sure do hate me some dirty hippies... And now looking back on it all, if The Charles Manson Familly would have had them a 'Billy Jack' protecting them from the establishment out there at Spahn Ranch, the cops would have been in for some real trouble...

  • hippies are good don't insult them

  • some billy jack oughta teach this punk a lesson.

  • You know what I'm going to do Nicko, just for the hell of it? I'm going to take my right foot and whop you on that side of your face...and you know what? You're not going be able to do anything about it... WOP!!

  • Don't gimme that Billy Jack Bull shit! (name that movie)

  • @nicko978 Major Payne.

  • @nicko978 'Major Payne' and then he punches him in the throat.

  • @Badfinger1964 but they would still wish you peace and love and want to give you a hug despite you hating them.

  • billy jack kicks ass

  • hey, i noticed the soundtrack is the same in Bruce Lee's Way of the Dragon.... which came first ?

  • I loved this movie wish it was easily obtained now in stores i cant find it

  • @Ghostsnumber1fan It's very easily found online for purchase, on VHS at least. I bought first just the one movie, then the whole set. The last one, in my opinion, was the worst: "Billy Jack Goes to Washington".

  • Well worth watching, mainly because it's hilariously dated.

  • BILLY JACK was a huge massive hit. The most successful independent film in history. One of the ten highest grossing films of 1971. This was the movie that made Tom Laughlin a huge star. I saw this movie more than six times. And to this day it still packs a powerful punch.

  • It was so popular because of the martial arts scenes and the "a**hole gets his" scenes. The acting was absolutely horrific! But oh well....

  • @rayssonation it didnt make a god damn penny in 71 . not till its 73 re release did it make 40 million . and the most successful indepedent film in history is crash

  • this movie classic shot in my homestate of new mexico has all the makings of an underdog hero! Ripe for a remake or not? Also refects elements of the redpower movement of the 70's native amercian band 'xit' would have been cool to have on the soundtrack!

  • @FenderTwinLover Actually, it was shot in four different locations, two in NM, one in Arizona, and one in California.

  • I've yet to see Billy Jack, but is this really the trailer? cause that looked like it couldve been the end of the movie, and I doubt they'd show that in a trailer

  • When I first saw this movie advertised, I vowed to see it as soon as it came to town. And I did- several times.

  • At 1:50 it's Howard Hesseman. Doctor Fever of WKRP in Cincinnati.
