  • BRILLIANT!!

  • I read a review for the Glidecam 2000 online that said DSLR's are too light for it and results in inaccurate balancing? Is that true? I have a Canon T3i

  • Hey is the girl in the video single?

  • Where you live? lol... that place looks so... happy..

  • Did you apply the color correction on the camera settings or software?

  • did you apply any form of smoothcam in fcp or is it only the glidecam that makes it so smooth?

  • @ultran84 its just the glidecam!

  • yep i am now and it works perfect....thanks everyone

  • Hello, what lense did you use to shoot this if i may ask?

  • @Dynesty101 just the 18-55mm nothing special.

  • Hello, what lense did you use to shoot this if i may ask?

  • little tip: when filming people with sunglasses, don't film them from the front.

  • @tontie777 you can shoot from the front, but you must mask the reflection in eg after effects or vegas

  • did you add anything to this camera to make it look like this? Or if i bought this camera now would it look how it does in the video? also what other affects does this camera have, HD?

  • Hey sorry to bother but do you ever have any issues with the camera overheating in video mode? I can only get like 5 min of footage at first then shuts down cuz sensor is telling it to shut down. And yes im using 6class memory cards PLEASE HELP

  • @330Outdoors hey sorry but don't really have troubles with that, i mean the longest clips i've shot are maybe around 8 minutes or so, but it's kept on for long periods of time.

  • @330Outdoors Hi, the 550D or T2i can rec until 12 min. you need to format your SD card in "Low level format option" I use SD class 10 and only format in low level and I don´t have any problem! I hope this help you! I apologize about my english!

  • @330Outdoors are you sure its over heating? is it just ending your clips? I had that problem and I just upgraded to a class 10 card and it solved everything.

  • @330Outdoors

The T2i/550d can overheat at times, factors are humidity and temperature. its a built in the camera when the battery gets too hot it alerts the camera which stops the process. Change to your spare battery or let the one in the camera cool off. The class of memorycard only helps to write down the images that you are filming to your card, the higher the class the faster the writing to the card. But i would recommend a class 10 memory card for HD filming.

  • @BeatingTheWorld thanks for the tip! :D

  • @330Outdoors ,,, hy buddy use class 10 to mak your vedios longer

  • @330Outdoors This happen because your sd card is too slow so the buffer get full really fast. Purchase a Class 10 sd card and everything will work fine :-)

  • did the lenses or lenses you used have image stabilizer?

  • how did you manage to balance it? I have a t3i with kit lens and I can't seem to balance it with a glidecam 2000 pro.

  • @BKCapinanes i didn't use any weights at all, try that?

  • you wasted your money, that type of glide cam you got isn't meant for the T2i you would have been better off getting the pro 1000 rather than the 400. at :05 the footage was shaky, simply because of the wrong type.

  • @AdroitNecromaner i bought it for my EX3 which is a 8-10 pound camera. I was just 'testing' it out with my small camera. It gets the job done fine.

  • @jdawgT2 Oh. okay,

sorry if I sounded like an ass!

  • If the girl had blond hair, she would looks like Helen Hunt in the movie Twister! :P

  • 30 or 24p?

  • what is glidecam?

  • I love the song and love the video. I really need to buy a glidecam.

  • that guy is very veiny :)

  • Well done!! Good luck for your future shoot!! Keep it up :-)

  • magic bullet is great and all but I would rather manually color grade it in after effects. I have more controll.

  • is it just t2i and lens or you have a mic on there too?

  • ARE YOU FAWKING KIDDING ME!??!!

I bought a Canon HFM30 camcorder last year for $700

and now this baby came out and it takes HD photos

AND video... and now I'm stressed out because I want

a camera and I see this thing that I want to buy that

comes with 1080p video. I'm pissed!

  • @jungIepits LOL i'm in the same boat as you. I just bought an expensive camera for $1000 (Standard Def) and now i see what these DSLR's can do and now i'm mad that i didn't find out about what they're capable of until just recently. I'm pissed off as well.

  • Fuck the camera. I want the girl!

  • Would have done a retake on 2:15, looked like it might have hurt too! Nice job.

  • @provids ya and when she slips at 2:58 too XD

  • how did you rotate the camera at the beginning?

  • Know this is very old...

But deffinitly would like to see this again but removing the Photographers/camera man reflection in the glasses :D

  • what software to get the slow motion

  • GLIDECAM VS MERLIN??? PLease, which one is better?

  • I see a story told here.....you got skills in both shooting and editing video. Good job. :)

  • hmmm nice ... how much did you spend on the glidecam ? with or without smooth shooter ?

  • @yanndemoerloose $500 no smooth shooter

  • very nice dude

  • It is super cool man... I love your work...

  • good vid, but next time stay away from reflective surfaces. I can see you in those aviators

  • wow

  • manual focus at f22.

  • @jdawgT2 question about the T2i. Can you shoot at 60fps? I plan on doing some "poor mans slow motion" possibly with 'twixter' and 60fps would be very, very helpful. Many DSLRs don't have 60fps capabilities. The T2i is a better price than what I've been looking at, but I see here the video quality will suit my needs quite nicely, and if I can get 60fps...I'm sold!

    Thanks

  • @xNighx yes i always shoot in 60fps just incase i want slow mo. so yes it does have it.

  • @xNighx - T2i you can shoot 60fps at 720p. At 1080p fastest is 30fps. I don't know of any Canon digital SLR at the moment that shoots 1080p 60fps.

  • niceeee, i really love the tint. what did you use to edit the colors?

  • manual or auto focus .. good video btw

  • @TheFlightLog Auto focus on a Canon in video mode?.. Didn't think so lol. It's manual focus for sure. Canons don't do auto focus in video ;)

  • @MrNuun Yes they do ;) At least mine does ^^

  • @HaugMedia Really?.. Your CANON DSLR has auto focus in VIDEO mode? You sure?

  • @MrNuun no i didn't use auto focus, auto focus sucks while shooting video on these, manual is way better. but obviously it's hard to manual focus while walking around with a glidecam and no focus ring.

  • @MrNuun except they do. dont recommend you use it

  • i love this video i dont know why it has the ITTTTT factor well done

  • Pretty fine work for some testing. Going to be getting my hands on a T2i in the next few weeks. Going be learning all kinds of things on the fly. A Glidecam seems to be one necessary piece of equipment.

Your video gave me some fuel for thought, brother. And like BerxVideo said - MAKE A MOVIE!

    Good job jdawg.

  • @javiermalicea hey thank you very much i appreciate it! good luck and have fun!

  • тю я думал клип будет а тут...:(

  • make a movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • at 0:48 you can see the reflection of the kameraman in the sunglasses.

  • nice! what effects did you use? and did you have to convert it to like avi or something to be able to load it in vegas?

  • i see you in her glasses

  • if you call this a test then... wtf make a movie now !

  • Not sure why your using a glidecam with the the kit lens...

  • Well done, colors great and locations perfect all the best from Ireland

  • does it shoot in 1080p?

  • @ValentineHipHop yes it does!

  • Hey JDawg,

What lens did you use for this and how come it's got a blur around the edges?

  • @CannibalRon just the 18-55mm and it's blurred from magic bullet quick looks, i wanted the colors to pop more and that was the color correction that i liked the best, wish it didn't blur the edges though.

  • @jdawgT2 Gotcha. Well the video looks great. Keep it up! :)

  • holy sh*t, such a good video, and music choice!

    amazing work!!!

  • can u tell me what export settings you use to get this awesome quality on youtube even at 360p?

  • @SevinTV Yeah, well it was shot in 720 HD and exported through final cut in quick time conversion at 1280 x 720 HD.

  • @jdawgT2 how much do u charge for color correction?

  • @SevinTV how much do i charge? never done it for anyone before. i just used magic bullet quick looks.

  • great

  • i absolutly love the contrast. the greens are very green, the blues are very blue. but the edges were blury. it seemed annoying 2 me. but overall it was amazing quality, especially HD

  • The end of cast away <3

  • How did you get such smooth slo mo?

  • @WadeVideoPromotion I shot in 60fps, which makes it smoother.

  • @jdawgT2 OK thanks cool. I have final cut express. Would I just shoot in 60fps and then just choose to slow down the time? Or do I need additional software to make it like this? Thanks so much.

  • @WadeVideoPromotion well for this video i converted the slow mo in cinema tools. i can't remember exactly how i did it, it's been a while, but i think you convert the 60fps clip to 30fps and it gives it that smoothness. there should be an explanation online somewhere if you type that in. sorry about that...

  • @jdawgT2 OK thanks, I'll look it up!

  • that girl in the beggining has a cups and she is real skinny

  • good job! nice...

  • What Glidecam ya using Matey?

  • @MYNITV glidecam pro 4000 without weights.

  • So basically you used manual focus and just kept the right distance from the subjects, right?

  • too much shake

  • very nice video, like it:)

  • 3:03 bad fading ^^ sry but i heard that :) but great video!

  • Is this WITH or WITH OUT the glide cam? If it's WITH the Glide cam it's not balanced correctly. Looks like crap

  • @4Firearms it was my first time, that's why it's called a test...obviously.

  • @jdawgT2 it looks good to me!

  • Pause at 0:48 You can see the camera man in heer glases...

  • i have never seen a ugly person on a 550d video makes everyone look attractive what a amazing camera.

  • When I am in video mode I am unable to take everything in focus.

    Only subject.. Background comes blurred.

  • @S00rabh the only solution to that is to shoot F11 or so more will be in focus. not much else.

  • Dreadful camera balance ..

    Good video

  • just bought this camera yesterday with the 18-55 and 55-250mm lenses...i wish i can start shooting like this...i got a lot to learn lol

  • ahah.. from her sunglasses is possible to see the cameraman xD

    Nice Vid aniway ;)

  • 4 people live in alaska

  • Would you recommend a rebel t2i or a 7d for shooting mostly sketch comedy videos

  • @enjoiR3 sketch comedy? t2i would be fine. Honestly there's not too much difference between the 2 other than price and the 7d is water proof, they both have the same size sensor.

  • @jdawgT2 not necessarily water proof. weather proof :-)

  • @Mangorule24 that's what i meant, sorry.

  • @jdawgT2 haha it's chill, just didn't want any dumb asses putting there nice 7D's underwater!! lol

  • @jdawgT2 also you should look in to the 60D, as it has a artiiculating screen, or try the T3i

  • @jdawgT2 not too much difference? what a noob answer.

t2i does NOT have stepped ISO settings like 320, 640, 1250 this means MORE NOISE.

t2i OVERHEATS much more quickly specially if you shoot 720p. 24 minute clips nonstop. T2i overheats twice as fast as 7D.

    t2i only has CPU, 7D has 2 CPU's

    No top LCD in t2i

    no click wheel in t2i

Focus system in t2i is super basic. (more for stills)

basic battery system, SD cards instead of CF

  • @KypHeM and for the price t2i is better. if you are a pro, you dont want to buy a 7D, espacially for filming.

  • @KypHeM Well even with everything you stated, there isn't much of a difference. My T2i has the Magic Lantern firmware on it so I can get those ISO ranges and more. I've yet to overheat but I heard it happens. The CPU is for a faster burst speed so the 7D is def better when shooting stills. However, we're talking about video here and they are basically the same in that department. I rather get a T2i w/ ML FW and spend the difference on glass in lieu of getting a 7D. If you're doing stills 7D.

  • @R3APER24 Actually I had no idea they got Magic Lantern for a Rebel. Stepped ISO is very handy I must say.

I had my 7D overheat on number of occasions trust me when you shoot video NONSTOP it will overheat pretty fast.

T2I will begin flashing red after second 27minute clip I promise.

LCD gets so hot you can't even touch it. A little more and it will smoke.

  • nice capris dude

  • How did you do the slow motion.. Nice camera....

  • @1BiGdAvE63 I shot it in 60fps and converted it to 30fps in post so it made it made it a smooth slow motion.

  • @jdawgT2 Nice work. Thanks for the info...

  • Well done. I have a ministry of sound music video DVD, and you achieved the same look as some of those vids.

  • @rashb Thank you so much!

  • amazing mannnnn

  • great video. i liked it.

  • jealous about the blue sky. long time not seen. got chemtrails.

  • @pixelcomet ahahahahahahahahahahahhahaha

  • shes hott!!!

  • love this video!

  • Very nice video! Nice shots, music, story, everything... :)

  • the boob! "ouch" 2:15

  • the boob! "ouch" 2:15

  • 1:19 NOKIA

  • I LOVEEEEEEE THIS

  • would you recommend the glidecam 4000 pro? i have a t2i as well and need a steadicam.

  • @stanlymanly2 yeah it works, you really don't have to use any weights, the 2000 one would work great too.

  • is this official music video xD

  • Kudos to the person in the white shirt holding the camera! Teehee.. Good job though.. I also have a t2i, I just have yet to exploit it... (Exploit.. LOL)

  • looks good but i can see you in her sunglasses

  • Great work... Jdawg...

  • Who's the girl??? Beautiful legs!!!

  • is that the same rode that was shot in cast away?

  • @BigVick4506 haha no, this is in Iowa, looks like it though.

  • @jdawgT2 I figured that. You in eastern Iowa? It looks a lot like around where I live.

  • damn that was pretty good and it looked amamzing!!!!what sdhc memory card did you use to keep up with a camera like this?????

  • @flashyg55 thanks!! san disk extreme 8GB

  • FAIL 0:34 lolllll

    Niceee videooo! great job

  • @luizluiz1992 wat was the fail

  • she's hot!

  • This is a great test. Could you fill me on the weights you used? I have the ame set up but I'm having a hard time balancing the camera

  • @stopherlew yeah I didn't use any weights, the camera was so light and it was the bigger glidecam, so it worked for me.

  • @jdawgT2 You didn't find it leaned more to one side?

  • @stopherlew no cause you move the top head thing around left, right, front and back to balance it correctly, the weights are only for the weight of the camera, you gotta move around that top black piece for the leaning. Kinda hard to explain but there's more than the weights that go into the balancing.

  • super super super super super supersuper super supersuper super supersuper super supersuper super supersuper super supersuper super supersuper super supersuper super supersuper super supersuper super supersuper super supersuper super supersuper super supersuper super sr

  • NICE! what f stop did you use?

  • @formattester6 i can't really remember but i know it was higher so more of the picture was in focus and i didn't have to deal with focusing as i was gliding it.

  • what were your settings? 1080p 30fps? or 720p 60fps?

  • @barnzee1 720p 60fps so i could have a smooth slow motion. i converted it to 30fps in post to make it slow motion.

  • I am curious how you manage to keep your subject in focus when you want it to be. I just got my T2i and auto focus is worthless during the record unless I missed something. Do you have any pointers for us? Thanks.

  • @32DegreesC hey, what i did was put the f stop high as too have more of the picture in focus, i was almost always zoomed out to the farthest option and went with that, i was nervous about it not being in focus, but it worked out for the most part.

  • @jdawgT2 OK thanks. What about shutter speed and ISO? Thanks.

  • This is so beautiful! Fantastic test video of the Glidecam. You're very talent in handling the shooting process, editing and choosing a nice song. Watched this like 5-6 times already. Do you remember what aperture, ISO and focal length you used by any chance?

  • @dannymarrfilms hey thanks so much!! I only remember using the 18-55mm lens and keeping it zoomed out for most of it (18mm) but other than that, i don't remember sorry...

  • I'm using the Glidecam 4000; I can achieve correct ver/hor balance but I'm only using a single washer, bolt and screw and did not use any of the large counter weight disk. Did you use them?

  • @HotelCasinoful no i didn't use any weights or anything at all, i might add a washer and stuff like you did though, that's a good idea.

  • was this all shot in natural light, or did you light your scenes?

  • @BitchMank it's all natural light.
