In my opinion this should be the first wrong step for google !!! after facebook and twitter internet needs anti socializing program... all the crap users share among each other can seriously harm your Intelligence !!!
Congrats for this - mixing general ranked info with my friends input (as I always trust & value my friends opinions more than a stranger's input - especially in a emotional intensive context) Improve a bit the contextual relevancy (as todync noted) like: if I am selecting the restaurant based on my taste buds, I'll look for opinions of those having taste buds like mine, but if I choose a restaurant where my friends had a great time, I'll go for the Social Search thing. Nice job Google!
I love this new innovate idea. I believe this has the ability to shut Bing up for a while. But one thing I found interesting listening to another video about this, Facebook hasn't been mentioned yet. That is critical! Other than that... GO GOOGLE!!!
She 'woks' for Google as a technical lead, what have you accomplished in your life to be so pompous? Right...nothing, because you wouldn't be leaving such a pointless comment in the first place.
ok, i'll offer up my own more constructive comment, which is that you (meaning anyone) would have to trust your friends' judgment and their work SOOOOOOO much in order to use this service. i'd rather read the general reviews of restaurant rather than a friend's reviews (he or she might have totally different taste than i do; just because it's my friend doesn't mean anything).
also, who's to say that my friend's photos of a vacation spot are somehow the best or most useful? i'd rather just use Google Images or Flickr and get the bet professional, commercial, or artistic ones.
If a restaurant learns that (they usually do) someone is there to review the place then they will put in a little more effort for a positive review. Whereas your friends review might show how the restaurant normally operates food and service wise.
Photos. Your friends may have found a spot thats not well known. Why? Because everyone has a different view of whats "good". It never hurts to look at your friends photos.
Great Demonstration Thank you google.

Because she writtes code without accent or insults.
That's what matters for Google.

Hmmm if I need to know my friends' feelings about something, I just need to pick the phone, or to chat, or send them a mail.
And I'll have more details than any review.

Great idea!!
I tried it out a couple of minutes ago, and it was a little buggy, but I'm sure with time it'll improve. After all, it was just released today right?

Actually, in 0:46 you can see her facebook account in her Profile page.
So I think that Facebook is in it.
HerrBismarck 2 years ago
Awesome observation, thank you. I know Facebook and Google haven't announced a deal yet like Twitter. I am hoping for that soon.
JayGlogovsky 2 years ago
I guess there is a technical issue: Facebook is mainly private, so I guess it is more complicated to extract info i a safe way.
