    render a nParticles video with 2 different particles in 2 minutes? sure, then you wake up after that, right? what computer you got for that?

    I won't take 10 hours to render that but you won't render such a video in 2 minutes my friend... that ain't a Maya Vector image render (:

  • @RhinoXeros You're not much for constructive criticism are you? Besides he has the nparticles casting shadows, and it also looks like there's some motion blur. Both increase render time significantly.. If he had no motion blur and no shadows then yes, it would render much faster

  • I guess that would be simulate and render. I didn't cache anything, just set it up, and hit the sheets. This anim is slightly cut off though the full animation is FireWater.

    I think the majority of simulation time would be from meshing the nparticles. Which didn't turn out very well. What's needed is to emit new particles upon collission, and then only use the lower scale on the collision particles, while leave the free air particle scale the same.

  • Hmm...ok. I literally just downloaded the 30-day trial version of this software yesterday. I have very little experience (obviously), but I have been tweaking out on it and I have picked up a lot in a day.

    So when you render, it has to render each frame individually (in an animation), right? How do you simulate the fully-rendered animation? There has to be a faster way. No use waiting that long if it's not going to turn out right. I don't see how it animates fully rendered animations.

  • Also, my render parameters were just default 800 x 600 settings. I probably could have optimized further, but it was just for testing.

  • I posted the render times on the video FireWater. Since, this one was kind of cutoff. But after cacheing both particles and fluids, the fluid meshing and rendering took about 10 hrs, for the FireWater video. ~175 frames

  • Just out of curiosity, how long did that take to render? What were your render parameters?
