@stalindud Different camera libs that don't work with ICS. ICS for the X10 is built from scratch and doesn't use any of the Sony Ericsson files. Hopefully it will be available soon. But as of now, no.
@thedoubleking1001 Not officially from Sony Ericsson. As you can see from this video, ICS is able to run on the X10 but as of now with bugs. Hopefully a stable version will be available in he near future.
This is amazing. I used to feel screwed by Sony Ericsson shortly after getting this phone, but developers such as Zdzihu have really helped keep this phone fresh. Thank you for all your hard work and determination. I cannot WAIT until this ROM is stable for everyday use.
@johnnylanza Gracias.
@blazeshowz It's an early alpha rom & isn't finalized yet. This rom isn't made by Sony Ericsson nor will they release ICS for the Xperia X10. That being said, through the efforts of the developers, they are striving to keep the X10 relevant by releasing new roms for our phones. I'm glad the possibility is out there for an upgrade. @aceplaya84 Jerpelea or FXP is releasing a more stable version of ICS/CyanogenMod 9. He will be providing a download link soon. Supposedly most of the rom is working except for the camera. I'll try to upload something when it drops.
@aceplaya84 Here is a list of working and non working items from Jerpelea: WORKING AUDIO - ok GPS - ok WIFI - ok TOUCH SCREEN - ok CWM RECOVERY 5.5 - ok BT - ok GSM - ok VIDEO DECODER - ok 3D - partial - sometimes crashes GRALLOC - with bugs GSM DATA - buggy - for some networks works for some does not work HOTSPOT - ok - command line for now USB MTP - settings->storage->push menu->usb computer connection->media device NOT WORKING CAMERA
@D3kaay25 There are too many problems to write down :)
It is in alpha stage so nothing is really working other than the phone. My suggestion is wait until a more stable version is ready. CM9 will be released soon so stay tuned!
@88dipendra That's why it is in Alpha Stage. Only for testing purposes. Only install if you want to test it out, otherwise wait until a more stable release. I just wanted to show that the possibilities are out there to updating our phones to ICS. Now the waiting game starts.
@12klaka Yup. It is still in Alpha so it is only for testing purposes. It isn't ready yet. CM9 will be released soon, which looks like a beta version coming out very soon.
@12klaka Thank you very much! Yeah, hopefully it goes final soon. CM9's release will be soon and supposedly everything is working except the camera. That being said, it still isn't perfect. GSM and gallery only works intermittently.
@Alexis6488 Yes. The link is in the description. You have to have a rooted phone. Create a FTF bundle for the downloaded kernel files and flash via Flashtool. Then flash the update zip via xrecovery and it should work. Please note that not all features are working as it is in Alpha. You can make calls and that's about it. Only flash if you want to play with ICS for a bit.
@pappachook There is an audio stutter fix available in a flashable zip format. You have to be rooted and have xrecovery to install it though. Check my previous video for a link and a general idea on how to install it. Or you can just flash a new rom and it will already be there.
@dpukvinu The Xperia X10 has always been slow. On 1.6, 2.1 or even 2.3. The way we got around it was to use custom kernels. There are no custom kernels available for the ICS port currently as it is using the famous 2.6.29 kernel by SE.
@ossibang97 What makes you think it's just a launcher? I've included the link in the description, download it, install it on your phone and let me know for real if it's just a launcher. Oh and by the way it's called Android Development.
@seyoum2 Ice Cream Sandwich will support flash. Adobe will update the app for ICS but will no longer focus on Flash as they will shift to HTML5. Apple has won...hahhaha.
@sopdogg thanks for the offer, I'll come to you first if I want help! Heh, the first review I read of Skyward Sword was a bad one and it turned me off and made me sad. Then the next day I read about a hundred glowing comments/reviews and now I'm interested again :D Still don't want to expect too much from it though. Funny that we chat on random videos... not bad just funny :)
@amintha100 I don't think it is in FTF format yet. The one I downloaded was in 7zip format. Unzip it. There should be two files: Kernel.Sin and a update zip file. Backup your rom first because you will lose xrecovery when you install this. Transfer the update.zip into your SD card. Download the latest flashtool, convert the kernel.sin into a ftf bundle via flashtool and flash it. Restart phone, get into CWM5 just like you would xrecovery, flash the rom via CWM5. @highjump44 It's actually a picture of me with Charmayne Star (NSFW if you google her). My buddy and I went out and saw her when she came in my hood for his birthday. I thought the tattoo was a dead give away. Hahah.
@highjump44 I have two X10s and a Galaxy SII. Running the TEAM Rom and ICS on the X10s. Using them for testing purposes. I love the TEAM rom, optimized stock with transparent menus, additional/extra tweaks, plus everything works! Coupled with Doom's latest Kernel, it is blazing.
@yoblako77 No sir, not at all. It is in Alpha stage and it isn't supported by any custom kernels yet. The Kernel is basically stock as such the frames per seconds have been capped at 30 and no overclock yet. Once custom kernels are available, the experience will be much better as with the X10. Stock X10 is very laggy and made many owners very upset. I'm just happy that a port is possible and I am hoping for good things in the future!
@nightwing369 I want to say yes, but supposedly a lot of older devices won't be able to handle ICS. If the OG G1 gets it then there is a chance. More than likely, we have to hope for a working CM9 for it.
@themysteryman36 X10 is very similar to the Arc. But an optimized Arc will trump an optimized X10. But you can definitely make the X10 better than a stock Arc IMO.
Nyan Cat was my first thought too :D My X10 is still virgin, I guess you could say... I've never gotten into any of this cracking, rooting and bootloading business. Good to know the info is out there though! Ha... I've never even installed an app from outside of the Market
@josephbilling Hahhaha, no worries. I have a few how to videos if you want to take a gander. If you download the latest flashtool, it is easier than ever to root, crack bootloader and all that fun jazz. Let me know if you have any questions if you ever decide to do it. Have you checked out Skyward Sword yet? IGN gave it a perfect 10.
@plushoom That's what I did. Use flash tool to create the FTF bundle first and then flash the kernel. Get into CWM5 and flash the zip and voila, you got it.
@plushoom The kernel is in .Sin format, you need to make it into the .FTF. Download the latest flashtool and then open it. Go to advanced, then bundle creation. Find the Kernel and create the bundle. Remember that the ICS Rom is in Alpha and it has bugs in it. Internet does not work yet but phones and SMS works. Also, this is for the X10 only.
@plushoom Sorry about that. XDA isn't always noob friendly. They want you to search first which can be quite daunting. It gets easier with time, believe me. I'm there all the time too and can definitely see how some people are treated for not using the search button. My goal of this channel is to provide a safer environment for people to ask those questions. Noobs are my main demographic as this channel is directed towards them. Hahaha.
