  • the bumper is very damaged in the in

  • I noticed that vehicles with the spare tire on the outside, didn't do as well...

  • It looks good but the inner bumper structure is still toast.

  • @Eissat2 I dont think that's the case. I've had a similar bump in my 04 Forester, and have had to push a big dent out of the plastic when it didn't pop back. There's a large airspace between rubber and metal in these to allow for low speed impacts like this. Any faster than this, and you might dent the metal, but the metal bumper structure is on pneumatic shocks, as well, and has some give before bringing up solid.

  • @Eissat2 actually if you watch the actual iihs video where the compare all suvs the forester did the best and it sustained no damage

  • that was very anti-climatic, which I suppose is good for a crash test!

  • All cars should have bumpers like this. My 02 wrx is similar but the paint still spiderwebbed when an asshole hit my car while he was parking.

  • Is that a 2002 or a 2003?

  • That is actually a 2003. Whoever posted the video got the years mixed up.

  • thanks

  • @TittyClamps it can be a 2002 my03... thats what i've got

  • @surfaboi92 I know. I have a 2004 Volvo S40 2.4i but it's still a 2005 model, as it's the new body style. This could possibly be a 2002, but as it IS the new body style it's an 03.

  • @TittyClamps It says 03......

  • @corvetteboy10 Yeah, it used to say 2002 until he changed the title.

  • Nicely designed bumper. Car companies seem to struggle with that somehow...
