Okay i`ve seen many videos of riding 2010-2012 999cc bikes and i dont know if its me but in my oppinion the r1 acceleration is the fastest much faster than the other 999cc sport bikes (like fireblade, suzuki`s gsxr even ducati`s panigale). I think the bike is incredible.
@ngv4ever The handling is good despite it being the heaviest bike in the class. The RSV4 is still touted as best-handling and it holds second heaviest spot still, I believe. As for acceleration, ECUnleashed reflash really helps the U.S. R1 (which is restricted a bit when you buy it). That said, straight line acceleration is better on a number of the other liter class bikes. Pulling out of corners, however, is really good on the crossplane. I prefer corners more than straights, anyway.
@ironmedic I cannot tell if the woman on the GSX-R I pass at the very beginning was trying to follow him or not. I'm just glad he motioned me to pass in the straight. I didn't work on anything that day with the control riders, so I don't know if he just happened to be there or what.
