As a fan of the Supernatural TV show, I just have to laugh when Dean Winchester hated on this group and called a bunch of monsters 'Jefferson Starships', and then a handful of episodes later he's singing Air Supply in the car while Sam looks at Dean as though Dean has two heads.

How can you like Air Supply and not like Jefferson Airplane/Starship ballads??

Just a year earlier (1984), founding member of both Jefferson Airplane & Jefferson Starship left the band because he didn't like the direction Jefferson Starship was going and so the rest of the band was going to continue without him but he sued to keep the name of the band so Grace Slick & the rest of the band shortened it to just Starship.
