When the uninsured like me get sick, or break their arm, we go to the emergency room, rack up a $1,200 bill, then everyone ends up paying for that with higher premiums. The IRS won't fine you. That is myth. Do you even know what's IN the bill.

@Flamesdupont incorrect. When you have a "drivers license" in Illinois, you MUST have insurance in order to have a license if you were ever stopped w/o insurance. If you did the same with healthcare insurance, it would work. Also, your idea implies the insurance companies don't see EXACTLY what you are doing. No way around it...
@Bolgernow Bullsh--. You don't have to purchase car insurance in order to atttain a IL. drivers license. However, if you are stopped or involved in a traffic accident and you don't have proof of insurance you will recieve a $500.00 fine.

Them paying $3,650 vs $127,000 for an operation, they'll take the fine.

@cmpm439 the IRS will NOT be imposing a FINE. The idea of the bill is to make the tax reduction incentive so enticing you'd be paying for more by NOT having insurance. CBO agrees. If you pay big taxes today for SS, FICA, & your state, by purchasing insurance YOU personally will lower your taxes with a break. If you work for a company, & say "I don't want insurance at all through you", now your employer will be loosing valuable tax cuts & might say "Get it or your gone". Did u read the bill?

@cmpm439 we currently only have 83% of all working American's actively paying into SS, Medicare, & medicade. That number must rise to 90-94%. The accounts for the gap there alone, but it's not enough. I also suggest better ROI on our investments currently yielding only 1-3% ROI. Also suggest taxing up until $200,000 for SS, Medicare/medicade unlike anything after 100,000 isn't today. Again, done here. Good day.

@Flamesdupont I SUGGEST YOU READ THE BILL UNDERSTAND IT, THEN try to have a rational conversation with someone. If you GET insurance you will GET a tax break on your weekly/monthly check. Your SS, FICA, & state taxes will drop. Let's say you pay $110 in taxes per check, now you'll be paying about $50-60. You now save about $50-60 each check in taxes. If you DON'T have insurance, or cant PROVE you have it, you'll pay the $110 you NORMALLY pay. But now, it's HIGHER than you COULD pay. Jeez

Effective January 14th, 2014this bill offers extensive tax credits to small businesses/employees(They will pay lower tax rates in their check) who have fewer than 25 people & provide health care benefits for them. Also employed folks who pay more than 9.5% of income on health premiums can get policies from a health insurance option

When the uninsured like me get sick, or break their arm, we go to the emergency room, rack up a $1,200 bill, then everyone ends up paying for that with higher premiums. The IRS won't fine you. That is myth. Do you even know what's IN the bill.

@Flamesdupont incorrect. When you have a "drivers license" in Illinois, you MUST have insurance in order to have a license if you were ever stopped w/o insurance. If you did the same with healthcare insurance, it would work. Also, your idea implies the insurance companies don't see EXACTLY what you are doing. No way around it...

AGAIN, did you read the entire bill? It's in there. Now, what's not in there, but has 4 years to be fixed is that insurance companies "daily fine of $100 for not covering people with pre-existing conditions" will have to be raised. Them paying $3,650 vs $127,000 for an operation, they'll take the fine.

@cmpm439 the IRS will NOT be imposing a FINE. The idea of the bill is to make the tax reduction incentive so enticing you'd be paying for more by NOT having insurance. CBO agrees. If you pay big taxes today for SS, FICA, & your state, by purchasing insurance YOU personally will lower your taxes with a break. If you work for a company, & say "I don't want insurance at all through you", now your employer will be loosing valuable tax cuts & might say "Get it or your gone". Did u read the bill?

The vast majority of people who escape federal income taxes still pay OTHER taxes, including federal payroll taxes that fund Social Security & Medicare, & excise taxes on gasoline, aviation, alcohol & cigarettes. What's the point?

@cmpm439 we currently only have 83% of all working American's actively paying into SS, Medicare, & medicade. That number must rise to 90-94%. The accounts for the gap there alone, but it's not enough. I also suggest better ROI on our investments currently yielding only 1-3% ROI. Also suggest taxing up until $200,000 for SS, Medicare/medicade unlike anything after 100,000 isn't today. Again, done here. Good day.

@Flamesdupont I SUGGEST YOU READ THE BILL UNDERSTAND IT, THEN try to have a rational conversation with someone. If you GET insurance you will GET a tax break on your weekly/monthly check. Your SS, FICA, & state taxes will drop. Let's say you pay $110 in taxes per check, now you'll be paying about $50-60. You now save about $50-60 each check in taxes. If you DON'T have insurance, or cant PROVE you have it, you'll pay the $110 you NORMALLY pay. But now, it's HIGHER than you COULD pay. Jeez

@Flamesdupont Individuals with incomes of $200,000 or higher, and families with combined incomes of $250,000, will be subject to a new 3.8 percent "Medicare Tax". Effective January 14th, 2014this bill offers extensive tax credits to small businesses/employees(They will pay lower tax rates in their check) who have fewer than 25 people & provide health care benefits for them. Also employed folks who pay more than 9.5% of income on health premiums can get policies from a health insurance option

Because most small business file their taxes as individual people Those business arent going to offer insurance because the fine will be less then the cost or credit to provide it. We have always paid taxes on goods sure but not income taxes, that is a victory tax originally. So your argument that America has always paid taxes is flawed. We have always paid goods/service taxes as is the basic need for government.. limited and self-sustained. bolgermow, 90% of people with insurance are happy. others still have an opportunity to go elsewhere if not happy. the stated goal of many dems is to use this as first step to single payer. this bill is meant to divert us toward that goal. dems passed this bill with no bipartisan support and against the will of the people. since they are currently spending us into bankruptcy anyway, why didn't they just set aside 30 billion to set up health clinics rather than taking control of the entire system?
