Ever listen the Dead? Quicksilver Messenger Service? Sabbath? Everyone was doing things nobody else did back then. I'm not dissing Floyd, it just seems a little bit narrow a view.

i think what sets floyd apart is the intellectual approach, that solid layer sitting on top of their music.

simply put they're soaring somewhere higher then the rest of the hard rocking, head banging bands...

quite possibly people in many of these bands were more musically gifted than the floyd but they didnt seem to be capable of setting higher goals than expressing a specific emotion through nice melodies, good sounding harmonies and entertaining music overall.

JroNC I see what you're saying of course but I think you may missunderstand a little bit.

Pink floyd WAS doing things that the rest of the musical word wasn't. So were other bands, but they were all different in their originality. Pink Floyd was most certainly doing things quicksilver messenger service wasn't, but the same holds true vice versa.

who the hell choreographed this dance?. I'v been taking ballet for 8yr, tap for 3yr, and jazz hip hop for 2yr. the musics to good for that shity dance. the dancers look like chickens with mad cow. but the awesome.
