I always love playing around with the brutes, hunters, floods, and elites. I'll end up making them fight and make the winner fight me. And so I end up killing them, I'm not a good Halo player...But it's still fun to play.

In Halo Reach hunters have recieved a huge graphical overhaul. They are much more textured, appear to be larger,have Forerunner symbols and emblems on their armour and appear to have some kind of eyes on their helmets.

The hunters in halo one were the toughest by far. Their fuel rod cannons actually shot fast bolts of energy unlike halo 2 and 3's hunters who used really slow beams or a slow moving bolt that's really easy to dodge and not to mention the beat downs they could dish out with those damn shields :P

I thought the elites had more of an advantage because of their shields. Me doing my research found out that they actually got their ass handed to them when they attacked planet Te. The only way they were able to make them surrender is by threatening to glass their planet. So Hunters have better combat, but the Elites are the ones that fight with their heads, which is why they're one of my top favorite characters.

Don't count the hunters out completely. While I agree with you that the hunters ofter have better combat but, at least according to the books, they aren't total morons, its just that they often follow orders of their superiors, such as elites, to the letter, which usually involves them acting as moving cover. I wouldn't count them out yet, and they aren't stupid, but many times just don't have a lot of options, being unable to move into smaller areas like other characters. Just my opinion.

Well lets not forget that hunters are actually formed from hundreds of organisms called lekgolos (or however they're spelled). They can actually control a scarab, which is why there is no pilot in a scarab in Halo 3. However, killing the power core in the back kills it instantly, but at least it doesn't look like a basket xD

Other than that, they're tactically disadvantaged because the covenant have better technology than them.

you know i think in halo combat evolved elites were too easy they fired next to no shots and really had very little firepower but then again the hunters could kill you without shooting at all and if they did shoot you could be kinda fucked

hmm sounds like u never plyed the game on legendary before. elites are the toughest enemy in the game. hunters are no problem only a few pistol bullets in the bak kills them

i did play it on legendary full way through and still play it to this day however im not speaking from a player vs hunter/elite perspective but from an elite vs hunter perspective. as you can see the elites dont stand a chance because their melee is not sufficient to cause damage. as a result they would need to rely on ranged combat to take them down however they do not shoot enough to do so

Hehe, like instead of a really big colony splitting apart and becoming a pair of bond brothers, they just become one super hunter big enough to carry the scarab gun from Halo 3 (the halo 2 scarab gun was WAY overpowered) and with better, redesigned armor with fewer gaps. I would so love to fight one, and play as one.

wow this is kinda off, if it was halo 2 or 3 the hunters would lose to elites, cause in theory they are the same, if not better than master chief, because when you play with them online they perform the same as spartan armor players, also if you think about it, master chief was trained to battle from infancy, but elites were like " its war time, guess i should learn how to shoot" and they still give master chief a hard time, just imagine if elites were raised from birth...just a thought
