Rabbi Blumenthal, I'd like to challenge you to a public debate on your understanding of Lev. 17:11 and the blood placed on the altar for atonement. My name is Louis Ruggiero and I've written a book, Countering Rabbinic Judaism: a Messianic Perspective endorsed by Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum. I've also just completed a 3-part youtube series refuting Rabbi Michael Skobac's teaching on Isaiah 53. Please contact me if you are interested in engaging me in a respectful discussion at LRUGGIER@twcny.rr.com
@Jews4Judaism Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of engaging in a formal public discussion on the issues. I already have a 3-part youtube series refuting Rabbi Skobac's teaching on Isa. 53. I was hoping to have a series of scheduled debates with some qualified counter-missionaries. If you know of any who might be interested, please advise. My challenge is on the table. Also, if you have any questions at all regarding my refutation of R. Skobac series, I'd also be happy to respond.
@Jews4Judaism Does Jews for Judaism have a chat forum that I can join so I can participate directly with them on certain topics such as Isaiah 53, the 70 weeks of Daniel, the Virgin Birth, Isa. 9:5-6 etc.? Please advise if there is and the directions to join. Thank you.
@DangerousTalk Blood is the life of all mammals, it is what sustains life. One way of looking at it is that blood is to God what a rose is to your girlfriend or wife. To a man, a rose is stupid and meaningless, but to your wife the rose is a token of your commitment. That you should sacrifice a clean animal to God is a token to your commitment to redemption, in a way you sacrifice your wealth (the animal) to show God your appreciation, but the feeling must be behind it or God will know.
Did the Xtians who MAY have existed between the supposed death of Yeshua and the destruction of the Temple, about 37 years later, use the argument that the death of Yeshua was necessary for atonement if the Temple was still standing?
Also, the poor man who could not even afford birds for sacrifice was allowed to offer grain. Does grain bleed?
Xtians also turn around and drink blood, John 6 ("my blood is true drink") giving clear rise to the doctrine of Transubstantiation in Catholicism.
@IWannabeJew Let us not forget that the Temple had been destroyed once before and Jews got along just fine without it. The issues of repentance without sacrifice was answered in the Tanakh long before Jesus came along by Prophets that both the Xtian and Jewish scholars believe in.
So what were all the sacrifices in the Old Testament Scriptures all about? Did YHWH just enjoy seeing people abuse animals?

How does blood equal atonement anyway? That is such a ridiculous concept.
