@pviCommander No, Deleting the "Game Data Folder" Which is where the patches are and DLC's do not derank you. And it does not make you lose your maps you can just easily go to the psn store on your ps3 and download it since its already purchased.

oh and Black Ops wont work on your PS3 either because (and this is the legitimate reason) Treyarch is in love with the gaybox and the spent much more time on the gaybox version than the pc and ps3 version so there are tons of problems with the ps3 and pc versions because treyarch is a bunch of faggots and dont know how to make a game

the best solution is never to buy an xbox, after mine broke 4 times and i send it to get fixed and they break something else on it and send it back to be with a broken disc tray that was their fault and fought with me over everything i tried to do with it i bought a ps3 and mine wont play black ops either but it will play all my other games and that is still better than any xbox

It's very easy.

Okay so, log into your account management then go to your profile.

Once you're there, scroll through until you find your profile information.

One of the options will be called "edit connection"

Click on that then when you're in the next screen make sure that you're connected to your original network.

Restart your system, now go back in the list and click on account management once more then turn it off.

This time, unhook your PS3 and break it or throw it out. Get a new one.

The thing that happens is that it sometimes online makes a black screen when loading after a new match or to a match but mostly it happens that when its loading to an online match i can see the screen loadiing and loading in infinite time. The game is sooo awesome but i dont want the ps3 destroyed :(

Get the YLOD repaired locally, many people have made a business of it, and quiet frankly it runs typically about $50. Sometimes its only temporary, better than PS3 90 day refurbished deal.

I have the solution! Eric from playsation told me what to do when i called him. you need to start in safe mode. turn off your system and then turn on and hold the start button until you hear 3 beebs and your system should be on standby with a solid red light by the power button. no repeat the process again accept on the last beep it will be 2 fast beeps and you will be directed to the safe menu. choose option number 3 file clean up. it will remove corupted files. then start up your system.

I got black ops a month ago. Before I got it, my ps3 has been working fine as ever. I played the black ops single player for like 2 hours. Then when i went to multiplayer, my ps3 suddenly kept turning off whenever I tried to play a match. I was like what the hell? Then I turned the ps3 on again and the screen says the system was not turned off right. I ignored it and tried to play black ops multiplayer again. BAM! Same thing happened again! Now my ps3 doesn't turn on anymore!

Black Ops fryed my PS3s hard drive and I had to replace it. The game is literally unplayable and to be honest I'm starting to believe there is some shady business behind these issues. I know 2 other people who also have their PS3 broken because of this game and I can tell you I will NEVER AGAIN buy a COD game!!!

This is not not particularly what happened to me, but I had the "old" Ps3 (80G) for 2.5 years, never had any problems with it until I started playing Black Ops Online> For 2 weeks play was normal, then it began consistently freezing and not turning off so I had to use the Power button on the back. Eventually my system began not even reading game discs or blu ray./ Evidently I had to go and buy a new one. Ive read that many peopl have had this issue. Also, recovery mode did not cange anything.

I just bought Black Ops a few hours ago and when i tried it, it only got as far as showing "Trey" of Treyarch then it froze. It didnt even reach the main screen.

So i restarted it,but now it wont read the disc. I tried playing other ps3 games as well as Bluray movies but it wont read it anymore. NOTE: Everything was working fine before I tried black ops. This ruined my Thanksgiving mood as well as my PS3... Thanks alot :( kiss my ps3 goodbye

mt copy of black ops did the same thing i returned it to game stop and the new game didnt launch. all my other ps3 games work fine but black ops is SKANKED OUT i tryed to re configure my system, erased my saved game, and swithched from HDMI back to regular but no fix im taking black ops back today and demanding a refund unless anyone knows a fo show fix. i was able to play both on and off line for two days before i experienced this problem some one please help

@loey200 Yo i did this too i took my copy back thinkin its the game because my other games worked fine but it wasnt my other copy didnt work either. But its working now and has been since whenever i commented saying it was. And it still freezes occasionally but i guess thats the servers fault. If its the same problem as what i had then you just need to leave it and try it again in a couple days then it will work well mines did atleast :)

@WeeCasperHD my first one kept crashing at save points in halflife 2 but luckily it was still in warranty i got the smaller better motherboard in my newer one if u have had it for ages it can suffer from long term use, keep using it if it work but i wouldn't hold high hopes of it lasting too much longer without crashing issues getting worse,

as for some reason unlike pc the ps3 seems to crash when going too slow where a pc would just go slow but get there in the end
