I must say that streetlight is probably the most talented band I have ever heard. BUT Less than Jake is my favorite because their music is so true and just great for making life awesome... if that makes any sense at all (not to mention the catchiest stuff ever)

In my opinion Less than jake is the best. Perfect blend of ska and punk. They also have kickass singers. THen Streetlight is pretty close. Streetlight have sexy horns, but not as good as a sound the ltj has. Then aquabats have more of a 90's ska punkish sound. They have hilarious sounds. Then reel big fish. I mean, their still awesome, just not the best. But they do badass covers and their older older stuff is amazing

In my opinion Streetlight is the best, I mean I saw them live and they're easily twice as good live than recorded, but each band has their own style, Streetlight's more serious and Reelbigfish is goofy as hell, Less than jake is somewhere in the between. and Big D and the Kids table deserves a mention. again they have their own style. It's all Ska-punk just varying shade of the same color.

@Morrik07 i couldnt agree more. I think streetlight is the best. One of the best bands of all time. They have the skill, originality, everything that makes a band great. But personally, less than jake just speaks to me more? i know less than jake isnt better than streetlight but i love less than jake the most. Lol i dont let my opinion get in the way of seeing actual skill and what-not

Spose. There's always Ryan from Catch 22 (although they're not that hot live). Mighty Mighty Bosstones, they had 2 saxes last I checked (which was a while ago I'll admit), but yeah its usually trumpets n bones. JR rules though, hes the best sax player they've had.

There are interviews with Tomas Kalnoky in which he openly admits that they don't claim to be a ska band. They are ska influenced, but a lot of people don't consider them ska. I suppose it's in the eye of the beholder. It's a style of music that has been around for so long and has evolved so much that it's hard to say what's ska and what isn't.

It's true they are Ska Influenced and id say Punk as well. It's some kind of fusion of Ska Punk. They use a lot of Ska Chords for the guitar then Power Chords which is used a lot in punk. So i'd call Them Ska Punk haha

But their sound is awesome, It could just be classified as Awesome.
