crap, after listening to you play Canon Im worried if the version I have is the easy version. Mine is not this long and doesnt sound as complicated at some parts. *sigh* (back to search the internet)

George Winstons version is in C which I would guess is an easier key on piano but he seems to optimize it somewhat for piano. He uses chords in place of single notes more often than most other versions. If you have midi I found many free online but there is a zip file free called "canon variations" with about 30 in it. Winstons is second from last I think but most of them sound very nice. Id like to have heartbtrue on midi :)

Actually the song is WAY difficult to play, even when you're not reading it... even G.W. made a mistake in HIS OWN version, if you listen close it's the second or 3rd to last variation he does.

I wish I had the sheet music to check how I did learning it by ear.

heartBtrue, just to mention, I like the way you do the last part better than George Winston. Yours is more clear. It could just be my lousy computer speakers but his I cannot distinguish notes at the end. Also if there is an "imperfection" I dont notice and Ive listened about 20 times but then Im imperfect.

HeartBtrue, I dont know what to say about the stories you show that could match all that goes through my head as my eyes swell with tears. I may have been drawn here because I have and "oddity" that I feel very strongly about ceratin ones who have suffered and they dwell very deeply in my thoughts yet I never physically knew them. Sometimes I will go to places they had been or places where a tradgedy had happened and I attempt to absorb some of the pain, all done in silence and alone.

This song is just "killing me" now. Someone tell me what it is about certain music. I want to clinch my fists and tense up yet reach for something in the spirit and I dont know what it is. This is why I just cannot play often times. The emotion is just so strong. Surely others have felt this? What is it? Someone tell me!

I looked the song up. Very interesting. No wonder it reminds me of so many songs. One website lists about 50 songs that were made from it including modern pop from famous groups. Considering the original structure of the song written in 1680 it is quite amazing. Im drawn to linearity for some reason and thats how I would describe their analysis of the song structure. If anyone else hasnt read about this song I suggest they do.

Through my life the song "last kiss" would sometimes make me cry so hard I almost couldnt breathe and I didnt know why until a few years ago. My 7 year old brother was killed by a car when that song came out. I was 9. It just now made me do it again writing that!

There must be something big I am missing. Who are these people? Are they your relatives , friends? Regardless, I guess I find myself hiding from the feeling because I dont want to cry uncontrollably. As I listened to this song the second time it sounds a lot like a song that I had been trying to know what it was for about 6 years now. The entire video is to hopefully remind us that anything exterior (including an OUT-of-tuned piano,no microphones,and absolutely FLAWED playing by a very-much flawed "pianist" on the very 1st-take/recording)matters not so much as how we view...the INTERIOR. One of the saddest, most hopefully tearful videos I have ever seen... as well as one of the most beautiful renditions of the Canon I have ever heard. Usually I don't like this tune because it was played too many times by my highschool band... But this was lovely. So halting and emotional.
