  • can imagine how bad this stick might feel while playing it look at the thing its made out of flimsy plastic

  • Can this apply to a Mayflash Arcade Stick with non-common ground PCB?

  • what size is that tackle box? did you use the tourny template for your layout? would it be big enough for an 8 button layout? just wanna upgrade from my shoebox :) thanx man.

  • Totally fkd up my setup Today.

I blame M$ for the non common ground dpad! ARGH.

    Thanks for your video.

  • Hey thanks for this Video.

I still have a Question; Can i buy "seperate" microswitches and put them into the JLF WIHOUT a PCB and they fit?

Or do the JLF-TP needs a PCB to fit the Microswitches "right in Place" ?

  • @jimbeamrye Yes, I take a micro switch off the PCB in this video. The one's in the stick do not have a PCB.

You can also buy them separate but it's not really worth it since it comes with 4 anyways. Just take them off the PCB and they will fit normally.

  • you're better off cherry switch modding your JLF or finding a JLF-TM(which is p fucking rare.) Or mayb get an LS-32. It always disheartens me to see the PCB mounted switches get fucked up because these fags just had to use a non-common ground wireless microsoft 360 controller. Fuck microsoft.

  • why not just use the ground on the arcade stick?

  • I want to Cherry mod my Sanwa on my Tournament Edition joystick without doing any sodlering.

Now I'm wondering if I can just remove the Sanwa microswitches from the Sanwa TPMA and if I could pop in the Cherry microswitches instead,

Is this possible or will I have to do some soldereing/wiring if I want to Cherry mod my TE stick?

    Thanks!

  • You should be able to use quick disconnects. If you do it will require you to cut the wire harness, and if you do that you won't be able to get the omron switches back without soldering.

  • Having just finished my wiring and what not (putting it in the box now) I can say that videos like this one helped me out a lot. Thanks a lot!

  • yo i have some

Happ Competition Pushbutton with Horizontal Microswitch i have no clue how to wire them to my 360 pcb help ? i need a little more info

  • What exactly do you need help with? The ground and single wires? The actual PCB?

  • thanks for the reply i have my wire going from my wire pcb to the buttons but i dont know how to wire them

one end of my wire is at the pcb the other end how do i connecgt it to the Horizontal Microswitch that i have

  • The Happ buttons use Cherry switches, there are 3 "prongs" on them. The outside one(the one thats bent and on the edge by itself) is for common or shared ground connections, so if you have 2 or more buttons that share ground connect those prongs together and connect one of them to the ground on the PCB.

The middle prong is the signal. Use that for the signal wire straight to the PCB.

The inside prong is ground for non-common ground buttons.

    Is that what your asking?

  • no but thanks for giving me that info how would i go about connecting the wire to the middle prong

you know what i mean the wire its self to the bottom of the button like in this video i see at

5:55 that green button how is it connected to the wire ?

  • Solder, same way you attach it to the PCB. Put some solder on the prong the attach the wire. You could use what is called a quick disconnect as well.

Watch part 5 of my Wii hori mod. I do some soldering in that video.

  • alright man thanks im gonna watch that video

  • Check back at the channel on monday or tuesday. I'll have a proper solder tutorial video up then.

  • cool looking forward to it i subbed so i see it when u post it

  • Thanks so much. I managed to kill a pcb trying to do the common ground method with a wiring harness, a simple switch without a pcb will be so much simpler for me.

  • Thank you for the time you spent making these videos dude, they are very informative and save alot of time deciphering the right information on forums !

    Cheers.

  • hello im building my first stick and im faced with this problem, i purchased a wired bb 070 gamestop 360 controller to find out it is non common ground, i like your video but have a curious question, do you really have to take off the PCB for the JLF, could i just not connect to the bigger contacts below the PCB and not connect the wire harness?

  • You don't have to take it off, you can scratch the traces like I showed first. You have to do either or, if you don't do one then all the grounds are still connected and it causes strange inputs to occur.

  • how deep do you scratch?

  • You have to cut the trace, it's a thin piece of copper "wire" under the green surface. Just scratch it so you cut the trace.

  • Thanks for this.

  • You don't need a soldering iron if you just buy the microswitches separately.

  • Depends on the switches, I am talking only about the stock omron switches. You can't connect quick disconnects to them. If you buy other switches then sure you can, but this is about the stock JLF. I talk about non-omron switches in my Cherry mod vids.

  • how do you know if its common or non-common?

  • Check Slagcoin and for your PCB diagram. The 360 controllers differ slightly if they are common or not(different IC chip placment on the back for example).

  • how do u get the micro switches to line up correctly?

  • They should just sit in there. The microswitches have two holes in the that sit into notches on the mounting and the gate. My next video series (modding a Wii Hori stick) shows it a bit better. But yeah, they just sit there.

They well fall out without the gate on though.

  • thank you! :D

  • just in time!! thank you .

    this is my first stick.

    I'm at this part .

  • Cool man. Hope it helps.

If not just let me know and I'll try to explain it a bit better.
