I re-read your comment....and I'm sorry, I misread it. LOL!! I thought you said why DOESN'T the word LAME come up....Yeah, no he's never lame. He is just himself and that is awesome. I love it!
It's not referring to the Watchmen comic. It's referring to:
"Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? is a Latin phrase from the Roman poet Juvenal, which literally translates to "Who will guard the guards themselves?", and is variously translated in colloquial English as "Who watches the watchmen?", "Who watches the watchers?", "Who will guard the guardians?", "Who shall watch the watchers?", "Who polices the police?" or other similar translations."
Oh, My Bad, i assumed "Who Watches The Watchmen?" was the quote from Watchmen because, The Armory Wars is Sci-Fi and Watchmen is also Sci-Fi, however you could be correct, i wouldn't know i ASSUME.
Also i've read the Amory wars, so I just used Logic to answer your question.......
@KillLarryDead It actually is an obvious reference to The Watchmen, one of the comics that inspired The Amory Wars. However, it's not about The Watchmen lyrically. The title fits the lyrics for the same reasons you said it does.
The phrase is very old. It has its roots in latin, "Quis custodiet ipsos custodes". It's used to ask who ultimate power should go to. If a group of people is given the power to watch over us and make sure we do right, then who makes sure that they do right?
It is called a concept video that relates to a concept song from a concept album. wiki A Prize Fighter Inferno---- the answers are waiting............
I know what you mean, but im guessing the fact that the amish people are burying claudio is represented by: "Stay with me to guide this dream, before they bury me"....Other than that, im as stumped as you are =]
Shchphinkter11 while i admire your enthusiasm facts state otherwise. The phrase itself would technically ''belong'' to the writers of the Satires of Juvenal where it is plainly stated. Also the novel Watchmen was first published in 1986 while the first film adaptation was attempted in 1991. Both of which predate Armory Wars official documentation. Now I love Armory Wars but facts dont come from dogmatism or over zealousness.
lol sorry dude, read the context of the statement and the direction of its purpose. Noone can own a phrase of course. And I never implied that it couldnt in anyway be used by this band or anyone else, I love the band and the comics/novels that go along side.

ok soocoolryan you are a fuckin idiot and if i knew you in real life i would drop your ass in a heartbeat. FIRST OF ALL this song was written fuckin WAY before watchmen was ever thought of being a movie which is undoubtedly how you found out about that comic/movie, SECOND the phrase "who watches the watchmen" is a common phrase thats been around for years, no one owns it but if anyone did it would be claudio. how bout you learn your shit before you run your mouth you faggot
'soocoolryan' How can you say something as ridiculous as that, when you have stolen your name from 'Charlieissocoollike' Who is a much more likeable human that you can ever strive to be.
This song was never anything to do with that, and the Watchmen are actually railroad people, which in turn has FUCK ALL to do with the Graphic Novel or Film or Watchmen.
who the hell his charlie? and who cares what railroad people do? i'm sure claudio read watchmen, seeing as the thing's been out forever, it's fantastic, it's something that he would read, and it probs had something to do with the title. idk i just feel as though a watchmen (the book) referance would have been better.
Whats that got to do with Watchmen (Novel) or the phrase ''who watches the watchmen''? the phrase outdates even railroads by quite the wee while there...
I never not once stated that this has anything to do with the novel, didnt even remotely hint to it, if one would stop being so asinine for a moment, one might read a context before jumping. The question was eluding to what any of this has to do with railroad people.
If that isnt hinting toward it, i dont know what is.
Also, stop trying to look intelligent by using an archaic words where you have no idea what they mean, or what context to use them in. Re-read 'Eluding' in the thesaurus before using it again.
What are you talking about, do you read back prior to a comment made beforehand at all? or simply reply to the last thing said? The phrase im talking about here, the argument about the Watchmen is just odd, but people dont realise that the phrase existed a long time prior to the novel so w/e. Im trying to work out how railroad people made it in there, as the phrase certainly doesnt come from them either.
Well if i read back to a comment made beforehand, i AM replying to the last thing said, so its the same thing.
Also, i dont even know what you are on about, because your original comment was just 'Railroad people?' which denotes nothing at all.
SO before acting all big shot, re-read your OWN comments. Everything i have said so far is with fact, wheras you just stab in the dark with random rubbish.
And i do realise the phrase existed before the novel, which is what im saying.
And as noone asked who ''the watchmen'' are how did that ever fit in, other than to state thats where the phrase were to come from, why did you ever mention them?
No, i was replying to Ryan who was talking about this sing was meant to represent Watchmen (Novel) and i told him it wasnt. Anyways, im done arguing with you, as you fail to see the opinion of anybody else, and you truly are impossible to deal with.
FYI he never said that it was meant to represent Watchmen but felt that it had more of a connection to them, as far as the general public goes hes probably right sadly enough. And either way never needed to be mentioned as it clearly doesnt, chances are he was just a random trying to stir a reaction from a fanboy, clearly it worked.
well there are comic books called the Amory Wars, their about Coheed's and Cambria's(his wife) "dilema"(i dont want to give anything away), and their based on the albums. Their writin by Claudio himself so they stay true to the story and they are really well illustrated, i would reccomend picking them up if you dont like C&C because their just really good sci-fi fiction. I also believe there is a novel written by claudio but its out of print so im still trying to get my hands on one.
So it seems we can all agree he IS in fact god? alright meeting adjourned. back to awesome music

Jesus, its like you all have the most incredible memory loss.
And its not in context of real life, its part of the story. If you guys knew your stuff i wouldnt have to talk to you all like you're idiots.

I never not once stated that this has anything to do with the novel, didnt even remotely hint to it, if one would stop being so asinine for a moment, one might read a context before jumping. The question was eluding to what any of this has to do with railroad people.

'Whats that got to do with Watchmen (Novel)'
If that isnt hinting toward it, i dont know what is.
Also, stop trying to look intelligent by using an archaic words where you have no idea what they mean, or what context to use them in. Re-read 'Eluding' in the thesaurus before using it again.
Also, i am far from asinine.

ParadoxBroken 2 years ago
Well if i read back to a comment made beforehand, i AM replying to the last thing said, so its the same thing.
Also, i dont even know what you are on about, because your original comment was just 'Railroad people?' which denotes nothing at all.
SO before acting all big shot, re-read your OWN comments. Everything i have said so far is with fact, wheras you just stab in the dark with random rubbish.
And i do realise the phrase existed before the novel, which is what im saying.
danfrost313 2 years ago
And yet you still dont answer the question how you manage to fit railroad people in there.
ParadoxBroken 2 years ago
Because 'The Watchmen' are the people who watch the signal boxes and tracks...Which i already answered.
danfrost313 2 years ago
And as noone asked who ''the watchmen'' are how did that ever fit in, other than to state thats where the phrase were to come from, why did you ever mention them?
ParadoxBroken 2 years ago
No, i was replying to Ryan who was talking about this sing was meant to represent Watchmen (Novel) and i told him it wasnt. Anyways, im done arguing with you, as you fail to see the opinion of anybody else, and you truly are impossible to deal with.
Have a good day
danfrost313 2 years ago

I also believe there is a novel written by claudio but its out of print so im still trying to get my hands on one.

yea its about inferno, the prizefighter, the books go more into detail than the albums do.
