  • I LOVE LEGOLAS

  • dude legolas is prince his father thunduil is king man think of it

  • Fake blonde gay

  • thankz thatz cool

  • doz anyone know what legolas name meannnnnnn???????????

  • @92animelover The name "Legolas" translates to "green leaf."

  • Legolas certainly is a Prince. However, I think that he only behaves that way in Mirkwood and on royal things etc. But anyway, Legolas is the best!!!! Nice vid btw.

  • No offense, but if u read the book u'd know that he's the prince. but luv the vid!!!!

  • yes Legolas you are the prince of Mirkwood, sorry you forgot with your amnesia feel better! Get well soon!

  • Hey halloo Tolkien says that he is a prince in his notes so...

okey sorry.. everybody is not as tolkien crazy as I am ^^

  • he's sooooo pretty :')

  • oh yes we love him ! :)

  • I , Thranduil King of the Silvan Elves of north Eastern Mirkwood have not a son named Legolas! He is a bastard!

    Duh, he's a prince!!

  • i swear to god, you people destroy the credibility of tolkiens work. you have to make it either unbelievably homosexual or antisemitic. Elf obsession is wierd, and if you doubt my words think about how you are seen and reflect. unless jeffrey dahmer is your dad cut the shit lol

  • Very good.

  • I CALL HIM!!!!

  • When I read the book the first time and after misunderstanding a part in "The Fall Of Gondoloin" (I thought that Legolas Greenleaf was the same as in LOTR) I got the impression of Legolas being born during the ruling of king Oropher (Thranduil's father) and therefor didn't really see himself as the prince of Greenwood or Mirkwood when his father became king...

  • The fellowship of the ring says: There was also a strange elf, claid in green and brown, Legolas, a messenger from his father, Thranduil, the King of the elves of Northern Mirkwood. pg 234

  • Legolas;My hero♥

  • Has Legolas an older brother???

  • @fare63 ♥or maybe a younger one?♥

  • @NimwenEleniel Yes, maybe. But if he has no older brother, he is THE Prince of Mirkwood ...

  • @fare63 ^_^ HE ALWAYS WAS!!! He never told anyone though. to himself, he was just an avarage elf.

  • Well he is beautiful enough to be a prince :D

  • Legolas son of Thranduil - Thranduil is the king of mirkwood ( i think) in "The Hobbit"

so this makes him a prince end of.

  • Ur not a fan unless u know this people! So stop saying u are untill u get the real facts!

  • Legolas the barbie girl!

  • Great video. I know that he's a prince, though. I figured it out a while back; though I must admit that the books did only hint about that fact. Great job deciphering it this way! P.S. You wouldn't happen to know where the pics from 1:10 to 1:23 are, would you?

  • yea he is a prince...and this is really good!and i like it when he has his hand to ear.thats good.i love the music and i luv Legolas but i love this video!

  • Look for the article " Legolas of Mirkwood- prince among equals".I think it will answer your question.

  • NO MATTER IF HE'S NOT A PRICE HIS STAY SO SEXY

  • Love Legolas!! <3 He's soooooo Cute and Sweet!!! =D

  • well, he's certainly not a spoiled brat of a Prince!

  • There are plenty of good arguments here, but we are forgetting one phrase from LOTR: The Twin Towers where Gimli makes an obvious statement saying "Pointy-Eared Elvish Princeling", stating for everyone right there, that he is a prince. Though to me Legs didn't look happy about him calling him that. Maybe its just me... Very nice video though and good job on the research. :)

  • @Kitten202021 haha GImli is so funny

  • So I had a big long argument as to why he is a prince, but youtube doesn't allow for more than 500 characters :) Basically he is a prince, but one of the big debates is perhaps he is not Thranduil's only child, and he has an older brother who can be considered a prince. Tolkien was very vague about deal Legolas!

  • omg! we love him coz he's so sexy!! xD

  • Maybe elves don't have princes... considering they live so long and don't die of old age and stuff.

Humans live far shorter and that makes the heir of the throne much more important. Or maybe he is indeed one of many sons. It would not surprise me

  • He's the son of the King, so he's a Prince. If his father left for the Havens, or died in battle, he would become King. (He obviously leaves Middle Earth before this, however). He refers to his father as "my Elven Lord" because this is royal protocol. However, he is not hung up on his own royalty. His mission comes before any self-importance. He will lead a party of his/his father's subjects to live nearer to the sea, but he will clearly be their lord.

Love the Vid, Well researched quotes, too

  • @ArianneWeaver He may be Prince, but that doesn't necessarily mean he is next in line to the throne. He may have older brothers, for example.

However, I agree with you that he is not 'hung-up about his royalty' - that isn't important to the War, as you said.

  • In the fellowship he represent the elves, what they are, and probably what they stand for. That is why we don't really see him as an elfprince. I also belive i've read somewhere that Legolas himself is not meant to think of himself as a prince but just consider himself as an elf. it's only when it is told us or when it is mentioned that we know that he is a prince.

  • He is a prince. But no one seems to count him as one. He never brags about it, so, maybe he´s not the firstborn. Maybe he has older brothers and thus isn´t the heir... I dunno... Or then, as elves are immortal, and Thranduil will live forever Legolas will never become king. Good vid BTW

  • @LadyOfNargothrond interesting hypotheses . . .

  • Well I didn't think about this before but he actually doesn't act like a prince. He's proud for sure but then again all elves are, aren't they? But it makes him sooo sweet. He's a prince but he's not a conceited jerk.

  • if you read the books you'd know that Legolas is the Prince of the Mirkwood Realm, His father, Thranduil being King obviously. Not a true LOTR fan are we?

  • all of the messages in the video are quotes from the book!!!

  • @ve6titzata don't mind the other persons comment your definitley a true lord of the rings fan!

  • @ve6titzata Some are both.

  • @NashiraJade you obviously didn't watch the video

  • @NashiraJade

I am a true fan and even have first edition copies of the original books which I've been reading since I was 6. Yes, Legolas is Prince Legolas, One of two son's of King Thranduil of the woodland realm known as Mirkwood. LOVED this vid.

Just remember though that Peter Jackson who did the movies, used a lot of artistic licensing, for example where was the barrow-wight part? Or Tom Bombadil....Can't wait to see what the Hobbit turns out like, and apparently he is doing that in 3D.

  • @Ellenyannesei Two sons? Where does it says that Thranduil has two sons?

  • the books are bettern than the films more informations =)

  • Read the book Legolas is a prince.

    love the video

  • Legolas son of thranduil king of wood elves legolas prince of wood elves, the greenleaf emblem comes from there family a royal elf family
