Are you shooting Wolf ammo? I saw the box in the background. What is your opinion of Wolf .45acp & for which gun would it be ok to fire it thru? ThX Sincerely, JAMES.
@buzzclark That was for my 7.62x39 wolf ammo for my AK, I was using it as a paper weight haha. Thats the desk in my bedroom so there is a bunch of random stuff on it normally.
@870Remington12 Not sure how to answer that, It really depends on what I feel like shooting, sometimes I leave both of them in the safe, and shoot some others. Although the .45 was my first handgun I bought myself so its probably the closest to my heart haha.
@Halvorson Ok. Cuz I'm 11 and a giant fan of colt guns. my dad has a glock and i shot it quite a bit to see if it didnt have too much kick. it still has a lot of kick for me but once i shoot it once i get used to it. i just wanted to know cause I love Colt pistols. especially the colt 1911.
@bloodrain30 alright, I'm still not really sure what your talking about though, the grip safety on both are interchangeable with each other. So I dont know how one coudl be longer. Also the the a1's had brown plastic grips, prior to that they had wood, walnut I believe. I personally bought the grips (rosewood) for mine though, it came with the wwii brown plastic grips.
Scratch that, I'm on my iPod so I kinda screwed up what I ment, but it's generally the same, just the back of the grip and the wood panels for the gun make it look like a A1
What I ment by chewing (since you replaced the housing I can see how you don't know what I mean) is the old grip safety was not made flush with the rest of the handle, so if you didn't squeeze the gun hard enough, that safety would "chew" the bottom of your hand albeit the recoil
actually, this is a Colt Model 1911A1, slightly improved design (mainly cosmetics because the original 1911 would chew up your hand after extended use, and slight internal changes) but still a GREAT gun that will live on possibly until the end of conventional firearms, i cant wait until i own one
@bloodrain30 actually its not. The mainspring housing, sights, and trigger have been replaced from the original. Thats what you are seeing making you think its an A1. This gun was made in 1916, I've looked up the serial number. Also the slide's markings are not like the ones of the later models.

How did the originals chew up your hand?! and this is an original, and the only "chewing" I get is from hammer bite, but a1's had the same grip safty, so would do the same to me.
I used to be against guns. But I'll be honest...if I were to own a handgun, it would be a Colt 1911. It looks like a reliable handgun and great for target shooting. Is it a 45? How would you rate it on a scale from 1-5?
@irishsoccerguy Well, I was against them because at the time, I was scared of them and I saw them as symbols of crime and killing. Now, I view guns as a form of sport and protection. I would totally own a gun now. After all, it is my right.
@gorillaMaticIAP 10 plus... It's a hundred year-old design that has out-lasted or influenced it's contemporaries... still remaining the weapon of choice for Law Enforcement, Special Forces, and personal defense purposes... No denying the awesomeness of this firearm. 1911... cause everything else is just plastic!!!
@alwayzhated2010 I used to get that a lot in high school, when I had longer hair, a bit more scruff, and less chunky. Haha, I didn't think people would still see that, especially in that attire.
@Aple52 They normally cost 800 to 100 dollars but if you get a rock island replica, since its a new brand, you can ge the from 500-600 dollars and i should know because i bought one yesterday!
now I know that you killed John F. Kennedy! haha

more or less kick than a glock 17?
Pivotmaker206 1 year ago
@Pivotmaker206 more. I've never actually shot a 17 though. I've shot a 19, 26, and 17L when it comes to 9mm glocks though.

Ok, After viewing the video one last time,
The original grip safety stuck out of the gun and was longer (down the back)
Sorry, but mentally I just didnt feel like I was explaining it right
