  • buy a boat!

  • At 57 (a young one though), maybe I won't be taking up Kayaking after all...

  • HAHA thats a tough paddle out.

  • I am sorry but too funny! All that work and a no go... Just goes to show there is still some need of innovation needed for the kayaking fishing... But I give the A for attempt.

  • my yak would've lasted 2 seconds lol

  • What kind (brand) of kayak is this guy using?

  • man... a lot of work just to fish. gotta love his effort - way to hang in there Jaco!

  • That was cool! I hope he had an energy drink with him for after he got outside. That's the kind of surf that shipwreck survivors used to drown in while attempting to swim into the beach. With the right yak, just going in and out of the surf line would be a blast. I'm 62, and I wanna try it.

  • the music is a song from the sountrack of plunkett and maclean

  • What was the music you put to the clip guys?

  • hey i dont know how you guys failed this so badly. with these kayaks and a bit of proper training this would be a breeze. i do this in australia with a 2.7m yak and fly through it mind you the short length helps turn pin point. and those waves arent big either practice and you will fly through that shit mate

  • I'm exhausted just watching that guy. I hope he had access to swim fins...crazy!

  • where is this?

  • gotta love that south african spirit of try anything!

    nice work

  • That guy has awesome skills and balance

  • the crazy thing is NOT only concerning yourself with getting out, BUT COMING BACK IN!!!!!! might as well put up a yard sale sign!

  • You ever watch the movie "Papillon" starring Steve McQueen? Based on the true story of Henri Charriere. wrongly convicted of murder in the 1930s and sentenced to life in a penal colony in French Guiana.

Watch the part where he sat and studied the ocean waves to launch his home made raft to make his escape from the island prison.

That movie clip may help you launch your kayak in the future.

  • Increible, los kayakfishers cada vez nos vamos convirtiendo más en kayakistas...

Felicitaciones al que lo intentó, son olas de temer...

  • Awesome, I surf launched at La Jolla this morning, 4 feet waves and I was drenched. I will never launched if waves are more than 4 feet.

  • hahaha! Brilliant. Five minutes and still on the beach.

  • Those fishermen were probably rolling on the floor!

  • wish that was me in me surf kayak what a waste of some sweet surf!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • THAT was a fishing competition?!! You guys are psycho!!! Bravo.
