Actually I talked to one of the Insomniacs game developers and he said that resistance 3 will not be the last resistance and that it will probably turn into a whole series of games so yah. IM SO EXCITED!!!!

There probably won't be a number 3. I only finished this game once and that was when it first came out so i don't remember much. I'll get back to you if noone else does.

I think that there will be a Resistance 3, simply because this is such a money making franchise for SONY and Insomniac. I can't say more than that though, seeing as I can't afford a PS3.
