  • In Philippines they are everywhere.. in color green, green with a mix of purple.. we call that "maka-hiya" once you touch them they are folding looks like they are shy.. and shy in filipino is "hiya".. ^_^

  • i will love to fucking smoke it

  • We call it "Makahiya" here in the Philippines. Funny because "HIYA" means shy.

  • Hello,

I am a student at Pullen Elementary School. I am doing a project on Mimosa Pudica and would like your permission to use your video in my Power Point. I will give you credit and I will not make any money from your work. Please let me know if that is ok.

    Thank you,

    Rylee S.

  • Haha, oh my god! There like sensitive 9 year old girls, you tell them you know who they like and they blush right away. But with these plants, all you gotta do is soflty touch them and they "blush" right away, lol

  • سبحان الله

  • سبحانه الله العظيم

  • Do they move if you shout abuse at them?

  • how long does it take for the leaves to open again?

  • We Have that in our backyard

  • I think thats a MAKAHIYA??

  • they arent getting enough light, to big to fast mos of them will die. water shoots down from where it was touched into root systemmmmmmm>>>>P

  • I love my tickle me plant...

  • even i had one when i was in my early teens in alaska and it was the best plant i ever owned

  • the reason why the plant folds is so that grazing animals see it and think it's wilted so they dont eat it.

  • see they have feelings don't cut a tree down or buy one for christmas that was alive.. and trees don't die instantly when cut so they die slooowly :(

  • They also close at night and open in the morning!

  • le me plant :O accidentally pressed send

  • I luv my tick

  • Nature, you cool.

  • Would it go crazy if you ripped one of the leaves off?

  • Are these plants expensive? .... I really wanna buy one

  • @Davichojr

Veeeeeeeery common in Southeast Asia. Don't know about other areas, but here it grows pretty much everywhere. If you would buy the seeds online, don't get ripped off. It's really quite common.

  • @Davichojr No, but sometimes they are not easy to find. Ask you local garden center. Where are you located?

  • @angeldanielmx I live in Ecuador, and I have never seen that plant in my country :(

  • @Davichojr I would think that in Ecuador would be like a weed in tropical areas. Look closer :-) Ask around.

  • I used to have these grow wild in my yard in central florida. They grow a nice pink flower. Seems I remember that as these get large and age, they lose this ability. Easy to grow and fun to watch!

  • i wanna take this to a party and be like

"Look guys, i can kill with the touch of a finger"

and laugh as everyone is in shock

  • i've done it before!!

  • Is the famous tickle me plant?

  • How did you get it to grow so large? I've only seen them in little sprigs, but that is like a lush garden all its own!

  • @PhoenixBorealis I just planted a LOT of seeds... and voilà.

  • @angeldanielmx Oh, lol. I see. :D

  • I know this plant

  • @ThangTran1994 Yeah, the Senstive Plant is very popular, specially in tropical areas. It grows like a weed!

  • @angeldanielmx hell yeah!

  • Hey well do they stay that way or do they pop back out?Like if they stay that way i would be like ONE TIME A YEAR KIDS!Prob. christmas!I dont have kids..But it looks pretty then ugly when flipped over.

  • @gta4monsterxboxLive2 The fun part is that the plant open its leaves again after 5-10 minutes, so you can do it over and over and over. Amazing.

  • @angeldanielmx this would be great for a movie props , like being a person with some curse , everything he touches dies you know?

  • they grow wild here (Louisiana)--how would one dig one up and take it home? I want a sensitive garden!

  • @realsugarpig What a great idea... a Sensitive Garden :-) Just order collect seeds and take them with you... or you can order them online. They grow fast in the right environment.

  • where did you get it?

  • @LOLZProductions123 I work growing plants (I'm a Horticulturist) so I have access to seed companies that sell Sensitive Plant (Mimosa pudica) seeds. You can also buy these seeds online in small quantities, but sometimes are not fresh and they do not germinate.

  • Why does it do that?

  • @MegRocks88 It is a natural response of this plant to the touch. It could be to protect itself from insects and expose its thorns (when the plant is mature it develops thorns, when is small like in the video there are no visible thorns.

  • @angeldanielmx Oh cool :) Thanx for answering!

  • Awwww they are shy

  • smoke it

  • @x4aperfecttool Haha. I am sure some has done it already!

  • belly flop!!

  • Too many to look good... You need just a couple really tall ones, not BILLIONS. But each to his own..

  • @subtleserveyor When they get tall, they look leggy, skinny and they produce thorns =( I prefer them short and young... they look cute and they are soft... and no thorns.

  • i bet they use these plants for security purpose's....

  • DUDE HOLY HELL! YOUR PLANT IS HUGE! what did you do to get it so big?

  • @X3R0X77 Is not that big. These are really just seedlings, I just sowed a lot of seeds in the propagation flat.

  • @angeldanielmx any idea of how many seeds haha

  • @X3R0X77 I would guess... maybe around 500 seeds of Mimosa pudica (Sensitive plant).

  • @angeldanielmx How did you acquire so many?

  • i like to play with this plant touch them they close, just wait awhile they will open again

  • @YoyoYo91100 Yes, Mimosa pudica (Sensitive Plant) is really cool. Is relaxing. Usually it takes 5-10 minutes to open again. Depends on temperature and plant development.

  • wet touch it ,it will close just wait awhile it will open again

  • it's MAGIC! :)

  • @hoiningt it's nature! :-)

  • lsd

  • @Pomologist666 somethin like that ;)

  • Where is this at? It seems like a different bread compare to the ones I see around here in south Louisiana.

  • @PokeYourEyez The plants in the video are greenhouse grown, very young plants. Actually they are just seedlings. When they get bigger, they do not look "cute" anymore, just like puppies, I guess. When they are mature, they produce thorns and look "leggy".

  • what soil is it, and where do you get the seeds

  • @joeybab3 Is a mix of peat moss and perlite. Seed are available online. You can look in eBay.

  • @angeldanielmx i got seeds they started to grow got there first leaf and died

  • @joeybab3 Maybe the plants got a fungus. They are very susceptible to "damping off". As soon as they start to germinate, you need to move them to a dryer environment. Also, what type of soil did you use? Was it sterile?

  • @angeldanielmx it was brand new sterile peat moss from home depot

  • @joeybab3 Maybe the seed was old and not viable anymore. Where did you get the seed?

  • @angeldanielmx ebay they were 1 day old from recieving them when i planted them

  • cool plant it's called the TickleMe Plant . Just search it on line to grow your own

iin the TickleMe Plant Greenhouse .

  • @Tina44323 TickleMe Plant, Sensitive Plant, Shy Plant... so many names... but the real name is Mimosa pudica.

  • i wanna smoke it....really get fucked up

  • Be Careful when you touch the plant on the corner of the leaves!

  • if you were on acid or shrooms, this would entertain for hours

  • Beautiful !!

How long do its leaves remain closed ?

  • @jacho80 It depends on its level of sensitivity-if it`s warm & it has been in the sun for a while, then the leaves can open in 2-3 min. If it`s at a heightened level of sensitivity, then sometimes you can even notice the leaves gradually opening again!

  • @jacho80 they last for like 2 minutes.. its really fun!

  • pee on it

  • Just google TickleMe Plant to grow your own indoors year round in the TickleMe Plant Greenhouse seen on Tv or party favor

  • wow i never seen a plant like that.

  • wow nice

  • i had one ... killed her by excessively touching :|

  • Anybody has growing tips for me? I have a mimosa pudica, its 3 months old, and its barly 12cm high. I bought the plant with a lot of leaves on it, but now its almost bald. Yet, the branch is still very green, it means its still alive. I keep the temperature in my room always over 21 degrees, and 75% humidity... Someone help me please? I think the plant is healthy, but not happy... How can i make it happy? Please, someone.

  • what happens if u put flame to it? does it cry

  • this is actually a common plant in the Philippines we call it (makahiya)/shy

and its everywhere .I actually just pull it out cause we consider this like a wild grass.it will just grow randomly in the garden ,

Im not sure how it will just pop up of nowhere ,but we do not actually

pay much attention on it ,you can go here in the Philippines

and you are all welcome to get makahiya.

  • @gehrenity14 your so lucky you live in the phillipines. Im sure u never get bored lol :D

  • @gehrenity14 You can also find it in Hawaii. My parents and I lived there for 3 years when I was a very little girl (my dad was in the Army), and we had some in our yard that I LOVED playing with. So much so, that when we moved back to the Mainland, for a long time whenever I saw a plant that looked like it, I would touch it to see if it would fold up like the ones back on the island. lol

I think I'll see if the local nursery here can find that plant and order it. My daughter would like it. :)

  • @gehrenity14 Yes, it is considered a "weed" in tropical areas. And if you see the flower, you'll understand how the seeds travel and get dispersed... and with a little humidity, more plants will grow. It's a very vigorous plant this Mimosa pudica.

  • @gehrenity14 Yes, it is very common in tropical areas all over the world. It is a weed, as you point out. After the plant flowers, the seeds float through the air when the wind blows, they fall all over the place... many far away from where the plant is. That is why they op up out of nowhere as you said.

  • whats the difference between this and mimosa hostilis?
