  • Yes abortion is murder.

So is AIDS punishing the homosexual.

    Condom don't protect STD.

    Homosexuality is god sin.

    God watches you every second.

Vote Republican cause they believe in moral value.

    Birth control is a sin.

    Religion is poison!

  • STOP!

    Don't think for yourself!

Let the Catholic church decide EVERYTHING for you!

    Life IS black and white!

    God is watching!!!

    AIDS is a hoax!

    Overpopulation is a farce!!!

Bible is true because the Bible says so!

Logic won't get you Everlasting Life!

Capitalizing religious Terms is proper Grammar!

  • excommunicate all those "Catholics" keep the faith not the lies.

  • The Catholic question about contraception is the same question it has for anything: will this lead me closer to God? And if not, why should we bother with it? Alcohol can lead a person to God; Christ used bread and wine at the Last Supper and at Cana. Sex is good for bringing people together, as are children. Contraception? No. Contraception makes you think a baby shouldn't exist, and it's wrong for existing. Consider if your parents took the same attitude towards you.

  • @GenghisKhan44 nice post! right on everything!

  • @kevinjjfr On the other hand, the abortion is murder stance is a relatively new one. Before the 1800s, most Christian thinkers thought abortion was as bad as contraception, but it was not murder in their eyes, not until "quickening" - when the fetus was seen or felt moving in the womb.

But nowadays we have genetics, which affirm that an embryo is genetically human from day one of its conception. It has no brain. It has no heart. But it has DNA. And it has or will certainly have a soul.

  • @SorokChyetirye 2271 Catechism of the Catholic Church "since the first century the church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion."

contraception is only slightly less evil then abortion.

  • Lol, I gave up Christianity for lent a few years ago. Best decision ever. Now I don't have to deal with the hypocritical church anymore. :P

  • In our church, Birth control is allowed and im LDS

  • The "catholic"priests who raped little boys were actually teenage boys and done by homosexual "priests" - # 3-4%. Protestant insurance states they can't get a good count but it's approx 4-5%. The Education Depart confessed to 10% last year and this was real pedophilia and not homo-pedophilia on teenage boys. Get educated - check it out. The media and PP enjoyed the contin news bashing but they lost. If you care so much about actual pedophilia contact your local Education Department. Thank you.

  • I love catholics! :) Thank God for real catholics who really live for Jesus.

  • People speak a lot about freedom, diferent views...the reality is you are free to be everything, except an "archaic" catholic...you are free to agree with the seculars ideas only.. and if you don't accept, you are intolerant.. Its not freedom, Its a lie, Its a joke.

  • As a recovering catholic, it's the church's archaic ideas about sexulaity, morality and gender roles that has turned off so many. Oh, and priests raping little boys.

  • @untamedshrew69 youre really.. really fucking ignorant. protestant ministers actually molest more children than catholic priests.. i pray you realize your life will lead to emptyness without jesus christ, who loves you so much and is weeping that you betray him.

  • @ChristianToker - if less children are raped by catholic rather than protestant clergy, than that would make their church more attractive? Helluva selling point! Thanks for reminding me: the intolerant and unchristlike attitudes of the righteous are another turn off. I don't know why jesus would weep for me, I don't have a problem with his teachings, it's his fan club that troubles me. How have I betrayed him, by speaking out against child rape and hypocracy?

  • I have to agree with you on this one. If a person no longer subscribes to the teachings of the Church, why do they continue to call themselves Catholic?

On the other hand, your attempts at humor are weak. Just stick to the facts.

  • A person who has sex for their own pleasure will be unable to see the difference between having sex with contraception and without.

Contraception does not 'cause' the distortion of how they view sex, it is a symptom. Simply stopping using contraception does not make the person suddenly experience sex the way God intended. The person must also work on becoming holy and moral.

When this occurs, sex itself becomes the soul satisfying experience both partners need, and not just physical for self

  • Frightening reality: every study from 2001 has found that increased use of contraception has caused increased risk of STD transmission.

The "safe sex" message has lulled people into a false sense of security.

The HIV virus and sperm is actually smaller then latex molecues. They will slip through, and given that women are only fertile a few days a month, it looks as if they condom is actually working, when its actually jsut the woman's not fertile.

  • Name one study from a reliable source that says that use of contraception increases STD transmission?

& the molecules don't have to be smaller than the virus or sperm, the holes in between them have to be smaller, people used to use condoms made of linen & then sheep bladders, they weren't as effective as latex but they still worked some what.

  • Have you read Humanae Vitae? Here is an excerpt on contraception: "[...] consider how easily this course of action could open wide the way for marital infidelity and a general lowering of moral standards. Not much experience is needed to be fully aware of human weakness and to understand that human beings—and especially the young, who are so exposed to temptation—need incentives to keep the moral law, and it is an evil thing to make it easy for them to break that law."

  • More: "Another effect that gives cause for alarm is that a man who grows accustomed to the use of contraceptive methods may forget the reverence due to a woman, and, disregarding her physical and emotional equilibrium, reduce her to being a mere instrument for the satisfaction of his own desires, no longer considering her as his partner whom he should surround with care and affection."

Can you deny these (IMO) strongly prophetic statements? Remember, HV was written in the 1960s.

  • I'm not sure you get it. People. male or female, want to have sex. It's a natural human urge. People will have sex anyway, and contreceptives make it less risky. You can't ASSUME that men are just taking advantage of women, or the other way around. The two comments you wrote kind of prove the point I previously made, how it's just about people thinking they're more holy than you trying to tell you how to live life.

  • @xCrazyJayx So is binging and killing. Yet we get angry or depressed because 60% of America is overweight, or because some asswipe kills another guy for no good reason. In society, we have to CONTROL our urges or we become animals, you see. That includes sex.

  • I don't get it. Why do pro-lifers dislike contreceptives so much? If people use them, it prevents unwanted pregnancies, hence prevents abortions. I'm more inclinded to think these peoplle just want to push thier religous agendas, instead of doing real good. After all, there's plenty of living people suffering and starving all over the planet, why not focous on them, since they already are alive? Most likely because it won't suite their agenda.

  • What agenda? What does the Church stand to gain by denouncing contraception?

  • Control. That's what religion has always been about. Why else do you think they'd claim to be pro-life, yet at the same time, denounce the thing that PREVENTS unwanted pregnancies? It's insane, and hypocritical.

  • I'm soooo happy ALL stands up against contraception. Any pro-life organization that does not make this one of it's primary battle grounds in the war for life is in the end unable to bring about a culture of life which would include laws. Abortion and contraception are two peas in a pod. They are related, legally, logically, and sociologically. Allow contraception and the end result will be abortion. good job ALL!

  • Control? Hardly. The core message of the Catholic Faith is to exercise your free will. We have to choose to love God and do what is right. Its not about control... its about what is right and wrong.

If anything the Church puts itself at a very difficult position by taking a stand against birth control and Abortion. The church and Catholic faithful get a lot of flack for sticking to what is right but someone needs to do it.!!

    Good job American Life League!

  • Stupid video by a propagandist fool.

  • Stay the hell out of Catholic related videos, then!

  • those groups are so disrepsectful to use Catholic in their names. they are not Catholic, and very misleading no good groups. i dont ever recall the Catholic church supporting that gay/lesbian/bisexual and transgender group or any kind of group for that matter. Nor any thing along the likes of 'women ordinances' those groups are wrong, very wrong.
