  • this is very true :'( i haven't able get any job or calls or anything nearly 4 years already. I don't like depend on SSI it make me feel lazy. Its actually very depressing! :'(

  • on a deaf specific dating site

Deafornot dot c om, it requires members to disclose their condition upfront

  • Certainly quite a tough life for deaf people. We are capable of so much, maybe even more so than hearing people. We're definately more observant and obviously we're harder to distract from our work since... you know... what can we hear?! Also we're a lot more beautiful than hearing people, it seems God wants to make up for our disabilty with our looks ;).

  • I HATE DEAF PPL

  • Pornographic Bhagwad Geeta states of naked Krishna while he stands on an elephant. Eating rotti with one hand holding his lund with other. His ballz are in hands of Dar-Phuddie and oneof five husbands of Dar-Phuddies is shoving a full chappa in the gaand of Krishna. Bhagwan is swinging by holding the ballz of the elephant, elephant trunk is inside the phuddie of Seeta who is holding Bhagwad Geeta (pornographic edition) in her hands. Shiva is watching the show and calling Krishna a behanchod.

  • Parvati was wife of Shankar also famously known as Shiva . He was fond of snakes and elephants. When he was away, or sleeping , Parvathi got sexual satisfaction by utilizing the snake , she used to insert in her phuddi One day Shiva saw the insertion of snake by Parvati in her phuddi . He became so angry , he did not know what to do , ordered to suck lulla. She was afraid and begun to suck and later on to please him , begun to worship lulla. Later Hindus began to worship lulla of Muslims.

  • ME GUSTA VER TU VIDEO!!!

  • Deaf are treated badly in the U K too, I hope you find a good job . All the best from England.

  • wait a minute? is that the philippines where you live in? Oh well im filipino too. Im sure i dont remember my classmate in school from philippines. I think there are not a lot of jobs in philippines for deaf people, i think. Just go to United States because there are many good jobs. I wish I want to join the swat but i cant =(

  • Go to Business Convention and Expo of the Deaf, May 27-30,2010, Houston, TX, U.S.A. There experts and consultants will educate how to start up a small business as self-employment with strategies and tips. Also, there will be Business Opportunities Expo. We registered to go there! I know that it will be worth for our future and network with deaf biz owners than registration price. See ya there! :)

  • Yes, deaf job seekers are challenging and confronting with the equal employment issue and discrimination. The issue is anywhere even in U.S. or on islands.

I did not have a job for a long time but I got a smart way to start up a small business and doing it as self-employment. I'd suggest you to get another smart way instead of wasting your time for a job search if it is not productive for a long time...

  • i understand hard find job yo

i am severe deaf and when i look for jobs and have interviews they look at me think im retard but im very good read lips and im asl and i know how do things if they just give chance

people so ignorace and not think yo

deaf need job like hearing people

    seriously

we are human too and we need survive too yo

  • @deafchi BUT U ARE A RETARD. retard and deaf same thing!!

  • @deafchi dude same here im deaf too and i can`t find a job nowhere

  • Hearing a deaf person is like hiring a foreigner. Can a hearing person work in CSD or Gallaudet? Can a deaf person work in Sony or IBM? I wouldn't hire a foreigner and that is the very reason why they wouldn't hire a deaf person. Very few will hire deaf people, but trust me, most will not.

  • Ignorance. Hearing people do work at CSD and at Gallaudet. Deaf people do work at Sony and IBM. Regardless of what you would or would not do, there is a law that protects from discrimination. The more people are educated in this area, such as yourself and the majority of people posting, the less tihs will be an issue.

  • Tell that to the rest of the deaf people holding degrees and still trying to find a job. That's fact, live with it, son.

  • I'm not saying they all have jobs. I know the difficulties that are out there and that many do not have jobs. I'm not arguing that. What I'm arguing is that along with awareness and seeing that the Deaf CAN do just about anything, job hunting will not be as difficult. I do live with it. And I see it everyday. I see the stress. I've seen it with both of my parents. So before you call me son, know what it took to be a Deaf parent.

  • Law in the US pretty week. They just eliminated the goldilocks standard where the employer would say you were disabled enough to be unqualified but not so disabled to be covered by the ADA. Most of the disabled who bring job discrimination cases lose them, and many can't find lawyers to even take their cases. I think unemployment among the deaf is something like 80%. Some of that is because once you qualify for SSI it's very hard to give it up, for what will probably be a very low paying job.

  • This video was good, but it could be better. Instead of GIVING UP after the interviewer told him that his typing skills do not meet standard, he should have went back and worked on his typing skills to make it batter and then go back to that job to get another interview!

  • And remember, there are those who don't want to be connected to deaf people. I do not like the experience of being connected with self centered people who were forced to speak, knowing that they can't even hear their own voices. Deaf and hard of hearing people should not be placed in the same group. That is all I am trying to say here.

  • well, i am deaf too from london.. most deaf do not have job..i not have job yet cos i go to second school but if i go to colloge and i want to studys art, cook, english and photograph.. i hope that i will have good job on future..

  • I'm currently taking ASL classes so that hopefully I can one day teach a deaf cooking class. Finding work is hard, and my ASL teacher says that food is HUGE in the deaf community, and I want to be able to help deaf (or just ASL-friendly people) find work and generally just enjoy life the way its meant to be.

  • since i left college i have been trying to get a job some people didnt call back and others said i didnt get the job its been years i never had a job in my life and am on Disability Living Allowance now

  • WHAT? YOUR NOT ALLOWED A JOB BECAUSE YOUR DISABLED? THATS DISCRIMINATION, in where I live, If i have a better qualification also being deaf, it's unfair not me to go coz it's against the law of discrimination act

  • its pretty easy to not hire some one. All the employer has to say is that they are not the person for the job for a different reason. Happans all the time.

  • Right. The deaf guy might suspect it was his disability, but how do you prove it? And even if you were turned down for deafness, it could be okay if the deafness interfered with an essential function you are asked to perform on the job.

  • Deafness interferes with alot of essential functions you are asked to perform on the job. Like HEARING/LISTENING for example.

  • Hey, I'm deaf too from Poland. Really great job of your video!!

I want to visit to Philippines somedayyy. Philippines is really beautiful of many 7106 islands.

Thanksssss for sharing with deaf us :-)))!!

  • I feel bad for deaf people because they can't hear people and I'm sure people won't want to write or signal everything they say. I saw a deaf person working at Home Depot. It didn't help my dad asking her stuff. <.<

  • You don't need to "feel bad for deaf people". They don't need your pity. And it's your own ignorance that's at fault if you are unable to communicate with those different then you. There are a lot of different ways that people who are deaf communicate, and they are used to communicating with people who have a hard time with it.

  • (cont)

It's discrimination not to hire someone based on any perceived "disability". There is training out there for employers who want to be able to communicate with their deaf employees better. I don't think it's that difficult.

I'm deaf and I work. It's not impossible.

Also keep in mind this video takes place in the Philippines.

  • ok...i was wondering lol isnt manila capital of philppines

  • I'm not deaf (just have Deaf friends) but I was born disabled. I think the most frustrating thing about this video is that it is the same way all over the world, for all disabled and deaf people. It is very difficult to get someone to hire you based on what you can do. Even if you're better at your job than most 'normal' people, employers look at you and see 'can't'. So it's hard to get any kind of job at all. I hope things change soon, for all of us. Deaf and disabled people can work hard too!

  • be strong!!!

I love you all deaf people!!

    we are all normal!!!

  • i m deaf 18 old...i do College...but i understand about ur feeling try can not Job...but my friend told me about 4 year later don't job because it is very people deaf about Try study and Struggle Speak...i do speak and sign language Thank God

never let go yourself, be strong! :)
