My friend, I can understand your arguments, but no offence, you live in a different time.. Football has long now stopped being a romantic sport, with passion and about 1 team. It was nice that players, grew up in one team stayed there and ppl did indeed get more attached to them. However since football is now about money, sponsors, advertisements and teams are actually financial companies, you can't expect players to turn down millions.. You either accept how it is or don't watch football..

Then of course there's the practical issue. Football players don't at football as a sport but as a job too. And it's a job they can do for 15 years. 20 at the most. That means they look to make as much money as they can to cover their whole life. Say you get 20.000Euros per month in a team and someone offers you 200.000! Now you might reject that and it's honorable but you can't blame someone else who might take the offer.

Well I don't know much about Portugesa so I can't tell you about the club.

But as for Diogo, I think he did love the club and loves it, but he has to take care of himself first and make sure he has a good life. He spent too many years in poverty to put the club ahead of his well being. I'm sure you can understand that. Plus if the club offered him a new contract, giving as much money as we did or at least just a little less he might have stayed. The difference is big though..
