I accidentally bought the Gauge 10-60 set. Hahah, I wasn't reading. Lol, now I can't tune the guitar no higher than drop C. It's fine though. It has a sinister feeling when I play Drop B riffs.
What's With The Applause And Cheer In THe Background? When You Rubbed The Pack Of Strings, It Reminded Me Of The Price Is Right With The Appluause And Cheer!!!
And even on his 20" scale guitar. It depends on a guitar. If any Gibson scale 24,75% says 11 for the win, it is same as 9-10 on a Fender or other 25,5 " scaled guitar.
Strings are entirely a personal preference. I have always said that the guitar picks the strings. That's why companies like GHS make so many different types - Boomers, Burnished Mickel, Super Steel etc etc etc. Gotta experiment with strings types and brands. Nice video!
more power to you Billy. Like I said I like 9's they are good for my style and I hope everyone plays with the strings that are suited to their style. Try them all out and whichever you like use them. Keep ROCKIN' !!!!! Peace!
The "thing" I like about the strings is that the bass strings d-a-e all get better pinch harmonics with this set than any other set of 9's I have run across.
Hey fellas,
Rumor has it that Joe Satriani has changed to this heavier guage too. If you like him.
Thanks for commenting on the sound! The Amp I am using is the Carvin Legacy twin just on distortion. The Picups in the Telecaster are the noiseless fender ones since the stock can't handle as much distortion or volume as I like on stage. The frankie is...welll. the frankie!
sweet, i use ghs strings to, only i use SET GBTNT-B Gauge 10;.13;.17;.DY30;.DY42;.DY52. i somtimes switch over to anyther set to see what theyre like, but end up back on the ghs strings, my latest test strings were dean markley blue steels same gauge, only not made with ghs's dynomite alloy
That's cool and the tone rocks on 10's from ghs! But for what I do if I am playing live I use this set because it allows 2-3 whole note bends on the lower 3 strings especially the e string, and it allows me to do tricks I couldn't do because of finger strength otherwise! Thanks!
Roundwound Nickel-Plated Steel Passion, Power and Performance. The Dynamite Alloy Boomers continue to be the standard to play by. The bright, long-lasting tone continues to be THE power string. GHS strings are the music industry's choice whether you want a fat, bright tone, or a bluesy, warm & mellow tone. Before they leave the shop, each string is meticulously inspected by hand by quality assurance people. Gauges: .009; .011; .016; .DY26; .DY36; .DY46

Are GHS Ultra Lights any good? I'm trying to buy a cheap pack of 8's just to experiment with different gauges

@RobDZeppelin Yea, GHS is a pretty good brand all together. I use Dean Markley 9's also if I don't have GHS. :)
