  • Richard Wilkinson: How economic inequality harms societies: bit.ly\rddTqb

  • America is waking up. I really believe in you. Do not give up!

  • So the OWS wants Corps out of Govt. AND they want greater regulations of banks and markets,,,, uh huh...

And I want my kids out of the house but I want more control over them too.

  • the only corporations in the government are the ones you liberals brought into it with this communist president of yours, the top 1% income pays 40% of the taxes while the bottom 50% pays 0% of the taxes, and you can voice your opinion without being fired

but what you want is to tell your employer how to treat and how to pay the workers. you have everything you just asked for, you just want it to work, and it doesnt, If you hate "CORPORAYE PROPAGANDA" stop doing this bullshit.

  • 政治犯裁判、軍事犯裁判はありますが

    経済犯裁判(経済破壊罪法)はありませんよねぇ~~。作りましょう~。

  • I want other people to pay for my tuition, because I don't want to

I want other people to pay for my health care, because I don't want to

I want other people to find me a job, because the library with public computers where I can look for a job is 3 blocks away

I want to get paid a wage regardless of whether or not I have earned it

I want you to stop asking me how we're going to pay for all of this; it will come from Obama's magical money tree he says will only grow with our 2012 votes. #ows

  • @Danthecockybull Amen. You said it.

  • @Danthecockybull THANK YOU!

  • 0:09

    0:17

good ideas that will continue ruining the economy

  • beat Obama with a CAIN .. simple as that!

  • Obama lover you voted for the asshole.

  • Nice job!!!

  • I want the ows trashbaggers to invest in soap and water, and use it.

  • OWS believes that the government should not bail out corporations who employ people but instead bail out the people. Students who contracted for loans to get worthless degrees, homeowners who bought more than they could afford. Maybe even car buyers who bought that Lexus when they should have gotten a Ford.

The Tea Party doesn't want anyone bailed out.

  • @THEL0NEARRANGER Because no one should be bailed out... The government has no business using the resources it takes from people to bail anybody out. If you took out a loan, pay it off. If you think your degree is worthless, look to yourself for the reason why. If you bought a home at more than you could afford, how is that anyone's fault but your own?

  • @EyeQue782 I agree with you 100%. Unfortunately an organization called the CRA (left wing hippies) forced banks to give more and more loans to the poor because Clinton said "everyone deserves a home" regardless if they can afford it. The reason the government agreed to the bailouts is because the government had knowingly put the banks in the position. On top of that if the banks failed the country would have gone into total chaos.

  • @psiewert83 Actually your wrong the fair housing act started under Jimmy Carter but the legislation that made it final came later. So really all politicians on both sides of the aisle are very equal to blame.

  • @MegaELECTRICEYE Well the "fair housing act" is something completely different. In 1977 the CRA (Community Reinvestment Act) was pushed through to the banks after Carter's (I accidentally wrote Clinton) approval. Banks were upset by this but Carter (Democrat) at that time promised them that they will be bailed out if the plan failed. Republicans were against the plan but it passed because Democrats had majority at that time. The Act has been modified over the years but still is what caused this,

  • @psiewert83 That just touches the service of it all. The deregulation of financial institutions, Out Sourcing Jobs. Tax cuts for the 1%, that have done nothing in creating Revenues or lowering the Deficit. Also the lack of Gov, oversite to insure there corporate buddies don't pay. but the tax payers will. Most of our politicians are lawyers or ex lobbyist they know the loop holes. So yes they are baught off to get a break where you cannot get one.

  • @psiewert83 Yes and Congress approved what Clinton did. Also there were plenty of politicians on both sides of the aisle that were in on that game. Bush comes alone what did he do about it?? ZERO!! And the same with Obama. I do believe the orginal message from the OWS protesters has been hijacked by anachrist. We should all be angry unless you live on a different planet and don't see what is happening to this country.

  • @MegaELECTRICEYE Well you need to do some research. The CRA was at it's highest enforcement during the Clinton administration. During the Bush administration was the first time they ever starting pulling it back since 1977. However it was too late. As soon as Obama took office he wanted to make it stronger again to give me of the poor better loans. He actually sued Citi-Bank in 2008 under the CRA to provide more loans to the broke.

  • @MegaELECTRICEYE I for one happily pay my taxes because I know that my taxes go to pay for items I use every day like roads and parks and services. I make a good living because I educated myself and worked hard to get a great job. I work for ITW, a multi-billion dollar corporation, and I couldn't be happier with the way that it is run. The reason I have moved up in my career is because I don't take days off of work to sit and hold a sign in a park. Life would be easier if you just apply yourself

  • @psiewert83 To apply yourself is a good start, Alot of unemployed people out there are applying themselfs to find a good Job. Even if you have good one like you have that is great. And you do your share in paying taxes. Here are the long term issue, that you pay into something you earned. Are you going to have ss and a pension when you retire? And these are some issue OWS protesters have brought out. Keep in mind the gov has raided SS. And we have a party that is against pension funds.

  • @MegaELECTRICEYE You're right, I pay into social security and I will never see a dime of it by the time I retire. That sucks, but you have to deal with it. Social Security right now is helping TONS of people who didnt save hard enough in their lifetime and now are living check to check. People back then were told "hey spend every dime you make, the government will take care of you". Unfortunately they were dumb enough to fall for it. On top of that pensions are another drain on this economy.

  • @psiewert83 Actually Social Security has been used to pay off or into our dept. And I'm sure for other things as well. The ss fund was never meant to be touched. Those pension funds that GOV is paying some are for companies that are no longer in Business so the gov took over. Those are funds employees pay into so they will have something for Retirement. 401k are another victim that has been used. The big drain on the economy is a lack of revenue being created like JOBS.

  • @MegaELECTRICEYE What you said makes no sense. You cant just make up information. Pension plans are NOT something that employees pay into. Pension payout is FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE money given to employees till the day they die after retirement. When private sector companies offer pensions, they are GIVING employees free money. 401K's are employer sponsored investment plans that employees have to pay into. Companies match their investments up to a certain percentage. Please do your research.

  • everyone should just simply take their money out of wall street.....that will get U the change U want in an over night fashion!

  • These people claim to want justice, but they define it as taking from others to improve their own situation. Isn't that exactly what they're railing against? This is the danger of pure democracy and the reason we live under a Constitutional Republic. These people need to vote out their Congressmen and elect strict Constitutionalists or Libertarian candidates.

  • If this is the 99% then I'm so glad I'm part of the 1%

  • @Apptend0 PRATT

  • Comment removed

  • this is hideous. "I want to steal from people who are wealthier than me." "I want to use violence against others to solve social problems." "I trust the government."

Watching this made me ill. If you don't understand where the problem comes from, how do you expect to fix it? The state is the problem!! Do not call for more power to go to the state! Absolutely ridiculous. God help us.

  • aint gonna happen

  • I want my Constitutional Republic back.

  • @CorporalDirge it is depressing how many people call for democracy when they really want the human rights our Constitutional Democracy guaranteed us.

  • 0:13 Another bubbly moron. Unprecedented amounts of money go to education and the Department of Education. The rich already pay 40% of the taxes. I am not in the 1%, but don't believe they should be stripped of what they have worked to aquire, only to redistribute to a bunch of lazy goons who don't pay taxes anyway. Oh, and about the education. Look at the money that goes to education. It's a joke. Education has not gotten any better.

  • great footage :-) we will write you also message...

    best wishes

THE CONCERT - World Festival for Real Democracy

  • Government is not the solution, it is the problem.

  • @kjz28

First define what is a government.

Any human interaction implies an intrinsinc non-written social contract.

  • It is very easy to say what you want.. the question is what are you doing to create it.. what are the solutions... how do all these things your saying you want happen? who does not want corruption to stop... how do we achieve that...the real problen starts and ends in washington.... balance the budget... stop spending money you dont have.... reduce the tax burden on corporations so they can invest and creat more jobs.... stop propping up people in homes that cannot afford in the first palce.

  • And today we learn that Herman Cain has strong ties to the Koch Brothers. So they are likely looking to buy the Presidency. If this doesn't motivate you to vote in 2011 and 2012, I'm not sure what will.

"The world will be destroyed not by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything." -- Albert Einstein

  • Occupy wallstreet was started by AdBusters, which is funded by by George Soros' tides foundation.

It's being joined by MoveOn.org, also funded by Soros. The Service Employees International Union, (SEIU) is running the show in downtown NY. Telling people where to go, passing out food and propaganda. This "grass roots" mob was started by Soros and is being run by and for the benefit of the unions and the democrats.

  • We have never been a democracy, we are a republic where we protect the RIGHTS of the minority....

  • freakin clueless sheep, i want i want i want ,how about i have earned.

  • @e2bert What the hay is someone supposed to earn when 20 million are under- or un- employed. Please find something to say, rather than spouting GOP talking points. They were saying what they want because THEY WERE ASKED. Duh.

  • @e2bert It ALL has been EARNED!! Who's clueless? What country do you live in Mr. Sharp as a tack? Just which ones did you have an issue w/BRAINIAC? Getting the corporations out of running our government OR the economic justice part? Yeh WASN'T HE SILLY FOR REQUESTING THAT!!! or how about the FOOL who wanted the banks to be regulated? Why would that jackass want to prevent the country from experiencing a 2nd Great Recession, RIGHT?? How bout you open your mind & shut your mouth & learn something.

  • @cmosdriver Baaaaaa Baaaaaaaaa Baaaaaaaaaaa

  • freakin clueless sheep

  • May I repost on my channel? With credit to you?

  • YES

  • @dsauvage should be a whole series of these, so we see the broadest possible spectrum of participants. Thanks. While I'm at it, please visit our video OCCUPY WALL STREET SAID THOMAS JEFFERSON. it's a music video which includes a very pertinent statement for these times from jefferson, along with the "we are the 99%" chant, and some soundbites from Chris Savvinidis

  • the new system cannot be born if the old one is not destroyed..

  • If this is really what they want then these people are protesting at the wrong place.

  • God bless the United Socialist States of America!

  • @Mitril47 We weren't socialist back when Clinton had the deficit balanced and the tax rates were higher, pre-Bush-debacle tax cuts. It is so lame when someone can't articulate their position on issues, just call things that are not socialism, socialism.

  • @lauranoakovics First i do not like left or right, but Clinton wanted to spend A LOT but was blocked by the Republican majority. Also The Community Redevelopment Act passed by Clinton created tough new regulations that forced lenders into high-risk areas where they had no choice but to lower lending standards to make the loans that sound business practices had previously guarded against making. Clinton made sure there was over $1 trillion in sub-prime loans.

  • Those who can created this video. There are a lot of people in the 1% who understand what OWS is all about and are putting their money to good use. Those 1%ers who stood on the balconies and laughed at the marchers and flaunted their bimbos are the ones who have to start worrying about their own tails. We will see a lot of them taking off for parts unknown soon. See how well they handle the heat then.

  • TO ALL THE HATER, U CAN CHANGE THE TRUTH BUT U CAN'T CHANGE THE FACTS.. WALL STREET GOT A BAIL OUT, WHILE WE THE 99% GOT SOLD OUT. SO BACK UP YOUR WAGON AND GO OVER THERE, WAYYYY OVER THERE.

  • This is perfect.

  • I want for you protestors to go home so I can go back to the park

I want to know how the hell did these people pay for the commercials if they are all poor and don't have jobs

I want everyone to shut the hell-up about what other people are being taxed and rely on themselves for their education costs.

I want for college students to be studying instead of protesting.

I want this Occupy Wall Street movement to realize that Wall-Street isn't the problem, its the government

  • @Puz123CP as far as this being a commercial anyone had to pay someone to make- you get a film student with a high quality camera , you interview people, go and edit it. post on youtube. so they only cost was the time that people put into making it. Do you see this running on TV? If it is I wouldn't know I don't watch tv. Government IS PART of the problem it is RULED by Wallstreet and BIG Money. Go to the park ask people what they are thinking, talk to them.

  • @Puz123CP. Maybe if you tried to find more information you would see that the banks and investment firms of Wall St, and other corporations are corrupting the government. Their money is worth more than the vote of the people to the politicians. And they use their power to siphon more money from the economy which caused the economic crisis. The economy failed, and they made millions of dollars in profit.

  • The media, by ignoring the 99%, prove the power of the 1%. However, Facebook YouTube and 99% are changing the way things are done. Power (back) to the people.

  • @kgrluv Ask yourself.... who runs youtube and facebook?

    'Nuff Said.

  • @shinryu1285 Who uses it to get the message to the public? Without them we, or at least I , wouldn't know anything but what is printed in the local bias "tea party" loving paper and the regular news on tv. Not all of the1% are greedy and evil. Some agree with the 99.........Look @ Mike Moore......'Nuff said?

  • dont forget to end the fed. greetings from holland

  • derp at the girl who wants wealthier americans to be taxed higher. that just encourages the wealthy to lie about their wealth and adopt shady business practices to keep it. dont be a dumbass and ask for things that are more fair to you than other people.

  • Well done, but I see one major problem: you all want different things. I just don't see this working out guys. Go read a newspaper and figure out which candidate (on any level of the government) wants what you want and VOTE. Don't yell, we have a political system for a reason, use it. Write your congressmen, support candidates, but stop wasting time yelling. You look uninformed and disorganized. Your actions are delegitimizing your cause.

  • @lamesauceization The problem is this: politicians don't care about what people want and we don't care about what politicians want. No candidate in our current system is willing to sacrifice their bottom line for actual change.

  • @lamesauceization i've been following that strategy for years but the only result has been a computer-generated message saying that the recipient has read my letter and to not reply to this email. the power of voting is no more since politicians listen to the will of the corporate donors, who will buy them the votes to stay in office for years. as long as corporate dollars dominate the government, the will of the people becomes worthless and trying to fix the system with the system will fail.

  • People need to start reading Marx again.

  • @howfreeaml thank you for bringing attention to my post ;)

  • I want a future.

  • This was ok until the little girl came on and said "I want the top 1% to be taxed higher and that money to go to education". How much should the top 1% pay? The #1 reason college education has skyrocketed into the stratosphere is a direct result of Government guaranteed loans. I like the idea of #OWS, but some of you people really need to understand how we got here and who is going to get us out. Socialism is the enemy and is exactly what these people are protesting against. Ron Paul 2012!

  • Props on producing a quality video for #OWS.

  • Short but truly powerful.

  • This isn't about personal responsibility and personal sacrifices. This is about the exploitation of a political system by an economic system. A hegemony that has allowed one class of people to rob the rest of a society blind. And a sense that social upheaval is required to end that and bring us something better.

  • Hurray for Bob from Boston and Mike the spanish student! Our uprisings are pumping blood back into this country.

  • @howfreeaml I just tried to read your last comment out loud and it just sounded like a fart

  • @badfish13 that is your tiny brain exploding... ;)

  • Positive uniqulture. Love and Hope X

  • @altonahk why do you weirdos ever pity the top 1%? burden? You think they have a burden? Why do you assume they worked for that money, let alone worked hard. I work hard, very hard my whole adult life and I have little to show for it. I have been penalized by this twisted systemfor being underprivileged and that's the truth about the majority of the working class. So drop your rhetoric nonsense.

  • @badfish13 So, you think that because you have been less successful, that you have a right to what they earned? How would you like to have the taxman come and take 40%-50% of your check to give to someone with a lower paying job because it's "not fair" that you'r more successful? You should have the right to make money you work for, and should not be penalized for actually succeeding. The rich aren't steeling from the poor (in general), but now the poor are making a try at theft from the Rich.

  • Cant get enough! Hope it leads to changes very soon.

  • you know what we're going to see soon? an ad similar to this only with a product or company tacked on at the end...capitalism is wily and knows how to usurp movements for its own gain and survival. BEWARE!

  • @altonahk and @howfreeami Oh hai, you must be with the 1%. Sure is nice to pay less of your % in taxes than the rest of us. But no biggee, you get heaps of breaks and incentives that will let you pay none. While some of us are having to survive from paycheck to paycheck and rising health costs we can't cover.

TL;DR Obvious trolls are obvious. You have just lost the game. Please become an heroes. Thank you and have a nice day.

  • @AnobviousX LOL you ignorace proceeds you my friend. I am nowhere close to the 1%. Since your comment was in no way shape or form a rebuttle, I guess I am feeding the troll. If we the 99% were going to tax someone wouldnt taxing Corporations paying close to 0% be ideal instead of hardworking citizens? Break the grasp of the Private Banking Cartel (Fed)(Derivatives and CDS's) to help America...not raise taxes on hardworking Americans. Please do your research before you comment. Thanks :)

  • @AnobviousX Actually I probably make less then you do. I barely make enough to pay my bills and eat, and that's with me being insanely lucky with a ridiculously cheep apartment/car and no health insurance at all. I just think people who work for their money have a right to it, and parents with money have a right to give it to their children. I think it's wrong to penalize them for it. Not everyone will succeed, but stealing from those who have been successful because it's "not fair" is wrong.

  • At the end, the guy in the hard-hat, was that one of the fantastic guys from The Kindness Offensive? Hugs from the UK

  • Wow. I think I can honestly say that I only agree with the first two people. If the other people are serious AND they are 99%.... this country is going to the dogs. It will end poorly for us all. The top wealthiest people are already losing 40% of their income to income-tax. The top 1% wealthiest already bare over 75% of the tax burden. But that's not enough? You have to take more? Honestly, think about it. You are taking money from someone who worked for it. Thieves.

  • @Altonahk Exactly, this is was a really scary video. Hopefully this is a joke....beacuse the 1% sits behind the federal reserve. Raising taxes on hard working Americans regardless of socail class is about the most ignorant thing I have ever heard. The uneducated blame capitalism, but think about people we havent had capitalism since the 1800's. If you do not understand this statement read a history book. Start with Morgan.

  • @Altonahk The wealthiest people WORKED for it ?

Most of them have inherited it, read a history book.

  • Earn it or inherit it doesn't matter and is okay with me. The wealthiest corporations need to pay their fair share of taxes. Example: 2008, the GAO reported that 83 of the 100 largest publicly traded companies had subsidiaries in tax havens where they can legally protect profits from taxes.

  • They should have some veterans in there too. And mention the FED!

  • It's worth noting that these are all bullet points that Obama said he would accomplish during his campaign for 2008 elections, and promises that ultimately got him elected. What a major dissapointment.

  • The video has to continue like this: I am willing to sacrifice my buying power for more equal wealth distribution. I'm willing to buy less, so less fortunate can buy more, I'm willing to pay more taxes if ONLY(!) there's to be a better health system.

Yet the video stops at "I want"...

OWS is only a start. Whoever thinks that this is going to be enough and as as citizen you can protest the government to change but you will continue to live just like before, you can continue to blow hot air.

  • @Anaxarxes What you say is perfectly true, that we in the west (where most of us, including the lower classes, are well-off compared to some countries) do need to think about making MORE sacrifices, but the point is, people far, far, far richer than us aren't making ANY - so why should we? Also, everybody involved with OWS realises that this is just the beginning - you clearly haven't been LISTENING.

  • @Anaxarxes I agree, the "I Want" thing gives detractors too much to bitch about. Yes, sacrifice is needed to make those things happen. But I think the message is that the sacrifice needs to come from EVERYONE, and proportionally, not hugely from the middle class, and nothing from the top. 'Coz from where most of us are sitting, we ARE making sacrifices and feeling the pinch, and the BOA and Wall St. execs and Congress are not.

  • The problem in a nutshell, to quote Thomas Friedman: "We're having an economic crisis; they're having an election." And you can be sure those big-ass corporate and financial interests are far deeper into this election than they are into improving their services or easing the burden on the majority of their clients.

  • @Anaxarxes yes unless you are barely hanging on as it is and dont have much buying power. When all you are buying is food and gas. and all your time is spent commuting and working and you spend little time with your family and friends. but yes what will someone give who is able to do so, true.

  • @Anaxarxes Exactly! Change comes from within. The video stops at "I Want", and so do the people of OWS as a whole. I also think people need to re evaluate what certain things really mean rather than what they think they should mean. Upgrading every time a new phone comes out is not an inalienable right. Stop maxing out your credit cards and the bank doesn't have you by the heels. So many of the "wants" are all directly tied to the responsibility of the person speaking to the camera.

  • That's what America is all about! Real people real troubles real solutions. The Elites don't care about humans, only war games and profits.

  • Awesome! It's so encouraging to see people want truth, justice and fairness.

  • Very nice. Well done! Bravo!

  • This is the face of what I experienced when I went to Zuccotti Park. Shame on you media for ignoring the 99 %.

  • @EVRYMANaKING Of Course the media won't cover much Occupy Wall Street because it is controlled by the 1% so it wouldn't make sense for them to contribute their own demise. It is up to us (the people) to inform others and spread this story through social media like Facebook, Twitter, etc.

  • Awesome, simple, and a good representation. Nothing is perfect, but this is truly beautiful.

  • That's the message everyone can relate to (almost everyone.. let's not forget the 1%). We have to created more like this, because I still think many Americans don't understand what's happening downtown Manhattan and in many other cities in the US

  • Beautiful, thank you!
