it is not a direct swap on some models, you will have to grind the threads away on some edge tremelo's to get the floyd system to fit properly. i had to grind alot of the existing threads away on mine, but eventually it went right in and was well worth the labor. i do recommend using loc-tight on the final floyd screw - as it tends to want to come loose over time (years). hope this helps.

Its a Floyd Rose system, so changing tunes often is not recommended because you will have to adjust the springs tension each time you will change the tunes.

Edge III trem bar adjust..

Tension - push the bar to raise the bridge. Right side, 2mm hex key.

Height - go in from the back, 3mm hex.

Hey jefonyx! I got the same guitar but in black with a grey pickguard. How do you get the whammy stuck at one position without falling down? My whammy bar is very loose.

On that guitar I replaced the original tremolo by a Floyd Rose one, so I don't have the same fixations ont the trembar.

If i remember correctly, you have a little screw placed under the Egge bar, on the block part of the Edge tremolo. To see it, you just have to push the trembar very strong and watch below the Edge II tremolo. The just turn the screw with an allen key.

@BnJohansen theyre completely different guitars for completely different styles but ill help anyway. the epiphone if your a hard rock (guns n roses) kinda guy or just anything that doesnt have too much speed to it. this guitar if your a virtuoso like vai or satriani maybe even malmsteen, the LP has a relativly chunky gloss neck, the ibanez has a slim satin neck

@v1kkz On the video I use the Air Norton twice. You have to pay attention on it because I change my pick up very fast. I usually use the bridge pick up to have a wild sound with much attack, and the neck pick up when I need to have a soomther sound for some rapid phrasing or some kind of tapping.

hey guys, what do you think of a dimarzio x2n in the bridge, and air norton or liquifire in the neck?, i have a gfs crunchy rail bridge, and power rail neck, and hate it. the bridge has way too much bass, and the neck it too warm, and isn't very clean. does anuone know if the x2n has a lot of bass? and would the air norton or liquifire be a good choice for neck, need something will a ton of mid range, but balanced lows and highs. btw its a ibanez RG350dx.

@metalterminator1 get the X2n for your bridge. It sounds good. For your neck pickup i'd go with the super distortion, but if you want the air norton sound then go for it. both sound great

@metalterminator1 i have the x2n in the bridge on one of my ibanez's and it's tuned to D standard. The bass response is good but not overpowering. its got a little chunk to it though. It sounds good because the RG350 is basswood. If it were mahogany it would sound muddy. Listen to the band Death for an idea of what it sounds like tho

@sk8jon2 you have to make several modifications to have a double locking trem like a floyd rose or the proprietary stuff they use in other guitars, you have to add a locking nut, which is a lot of work, and cut a hole for the bridge to fit in. its really expensive to do on non-tremolo guitars and you would probably be better of getting a new guitar with one already equipped

the only problem with the edge 3 is that the trem bar does NOT screw in, it just sits there...this means theres a little banging noise from the bar wiggling around every time you use it....i put 5 springs in the back of mine and locked that shit up

@TangeClown I don't own any locking-nut guitars, but from screwing around in music stores (and when I screw around in music stores I don't screw around) my personal opinion is that all edge trems are just as reliable as original floyds. I even prefer the way they handle.

No matter what trem you get it's gonna be a pain stringing your guitar. If you can, go to a music store and wail on a few axes when the staff aren't looking, or you could take my route and get a string-thru tune-o-matic. ;)

Hmm that's a tough one, maybe you should look into the Ibanez RG fixed bridge like the RG321MH or the RG321E their price are below 500. I don't know if it sounds amazing or not, but you should try them at your local guitar store ;)

i ve used elixirs now for about a year or 2 an i love to play most styles bt i really like proggressive metal and elixirs r really gd 4 it they sound really nice and the tone lasts ages i havent changed my E or A string for about 2 years and they still sound like new strings the only bad thing is they cost quite a bit coz its like £11 every pack

The Floyd Rose would just drop in. You wouldn't have to modify the wood at all.

I bought this guitar and stock its missing a lot of low end punch. Then i switched the pick ups twice(once with the DESIGNED BY EMG picks from an RG2EX2 and again with an old Fender Bullet from the late 80s.) Both times I was still missing tons of low end. Even with the lows on my amp all the way up. Do you think if I get some DiMarzio Evos, itll give me what I want? thnx
