  • I am a supporter of Fair and Free Trade, and this goes to show that Obama is an incredible hypocrite. Mitt Romney is right on trade. He has the right balance. Mitt Romney 2012.

  • -NAFTA has been used to whipsaw American workers' wages&benefits under the THREAT of job loss. NAFTA hurt the Mexican people because it was written with specific provisions to exclude workers' right to organize& to benefit from wages levels above those of SLAVE labor. NAFTA destroyed family farm subsistence in Mexico& caused a SURGE in ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION to the U.S. OBAMA SHOULD WITHDRAW OUR country from NAFTA & ALL FREE TRADE PURSUITS BECAUSE WITHOUT A MIDDLE CLASS THERE CAN BE NO DEMOCRACY.

  • flip flop artist you sound like Glen Beck have you no pride. I don't have any money and I couldn't I just couldn't do this shit, Is money really that important.

  • Im not an Obama fan, but If FREE trade is fruit, then NAFTA is apples, and Obama is talking oranges! Remember Ross Perot believed in Free Trade, but he was vehemently against NAFTA. By the way, he was right!

  • So which is it you shaky politician? I've had enough of free trade here. Paying unemployment for years at a time is bankrupting the government. I thought you represented change. You came here to Ohio and told people you would change these things now you support free trade? Looks like your a liar. People need job right now.

  • SHOULD WE BELIEVE AND TRUST IN PRESIDENT OBAMA?

    why yes? or why not?

  • Such bullshit this video is so out of context, these trade agreements are not free trade........... Apples to oranges........

  • The only reason why the USA wants free trade is because they get the short end of the stick without it.

  • @wilkes85 Actually, we get screwed. We are no longer protected by tariffs.

  • He's not contradicting himself.

  • Nafta is the North American Free Trade Agreement. From what I understand, if he dislikes agreements such as these, then... He probably doesn't enjoy free-trade. Mm? Just my own conjecture.

  • Obama, and McCain are both globalist. Vote third party.

  • Bush LOVES NAFTA lol.

  • The lenders are the ones who should have stepped in even with the lighter regulations and said you should not buy a house that you can't afford. YOu can buy a house just not that one.

The problem here is why can't they afford the house? Was it due to the adjustable rate or was it because the people lost their job?

That can happen to anyone in any situation. It has nothing to do with the lending requirements.

  • Just because he believes in Free Trade doesn't mean that he should support NAFTA. NAFTA isn't really free trade. Sure, it says "free trade" in the agreement title, but it doesn't really fulfill that objective. It's like saying someone is unpatriotic for voting against the Patriot Act. The title and meaning don't necessarily correlate as well as one might like.

  • obama is in the pocket of the unions, that's what all of this nafta stuff is about. they oppose it,so obama opposes it, it's that simple he gets ALOT of money from unions

  • NAFTA is a type of free trade agreement but that doesn't mean he agrees with this type of free trade agreement.

There's a difference that this video does not state. NAFTA is only one of many free trade agreements in the world. This video is trying to say just because he doesn't agree with NAFTA, his other statements of wanting free trade around the world is invalid. That's not true and not the whole story.

He believes in free trade, just not NAFTA...that doesn't mean he contradicts himself

  • Thanks for clearing that up. I wasn't sure what the difference was. This was probably the first thing I have seen that made me question Obama as a candidate...But I guess it was false or another one of McCain's lies?

  • there's a difference. NAFTA has no regulations whatsoever, unlike the free trade agreement in the EU. without regulations the u.s. and canadian companies are taking advantage of the mexican people by paying them a few dollars a day, and destroying the natural enivronment. same goes for CAFTA. it's using the latin american countries for u.s. gains. what obama should've said is fair trade.

  • pure progaganda ...... aimed at the ignorant ..... Obama like most people are for free trade ..... but NAFTA is 1 specific trade agreement which is too flawed, and doesn't help most Americans, so Obama opposes it..... but NAFTA does NOT stand for all free trade, nor does a Ford stand for all motor vechicles on earth.

  • this video was made by one ignorant being.....

  • I don't see the contradiction either. He's saying he supports the basic idea of free trade, but has opposed specific trade agreements, or wants to revise others. I know when I vote on a ballot measure, I may support the basic premise of it, but I look at how it was written, if there will be unintended consequences, etc, and may not vote for it. I like that Obama doesn't just rubberstamp something based on simplistic ideology, he gets into details, thinks with subtlety and foresight.

  • FREE TRADE: GOOD NAFTA: BAD... think about it like this... you cant go and buy a house with cash. If you save your hard earned money, you still can do it. Y? Because you remove the banks and other folk that have an interest in you owing money. More organizations, more layers of red tape... less productive process. McCain Lied: I am the same McCain so lets change the system i have been keeping the same for decades!

  • Some argue that NAFTA has been positive for Mexico, which has seen its poverty rates fall and real income rise, even after accounting for the 19941995 economic crisis. Others argue that NAFTA has been beneficial to business owners and elites in all three countries, but has had negative impacts on farmers in Mexico who saw food prices fall based on cheap imports from U.S. agribusiness, and negative impacts on U.S. workers in manufacturing and assembly industries who lost jobs.

  • Critics also argue that NAFTA has contributed to the rising levels of inequality in both the U.S. and Mexico. Some economists believe that NAFTA has not been enough (or worked fast enough) to produce an economic convergence,[12] nor to substantially reduce poverty rates. Some have suggested that in order to fully benefit from the agreement, Mexico must invest more in education and promote innovation in infrastructure and agriculture.

  • free trade good nafta bad, thats not as contradictory as it seems. Ron Paul says the same thing. why do we need binding agreements to have free trade? isn't trade war enough of a deterant?

  • It is too late. It is over. Start plowing the fields again. Greed took another victim. Emergency meetings for the Lehman Brothers continued today. The bailout of the venerable 158-year-old firm is underway. It would appear the much-ballyhooed Free Market is anything but. That, though, is hardly a surprise. Left unchecked (Read: Unregulated) human beings can never be counted on to do the right thing. Just ask Mr. Gekko.

  • Go splice together your own sexual lecher's videos. McSame has to lie about pigs and lipstick and sexual deviancy to win. He has nothing to offer but the same.

    There are CAFTA,

    NAFTA. Australia

    Bahrain

    CAFTA-DR

    Chile

    Israel

    Jordan

    Morocco

Singapore NAFTA is North America. Many are under review because they have not been enforced. OB is talking about several different agreements that you have spliced together to sound like he is talking about 1 issue.
