I wish that Lucky could live at the Tennessee Elephant Sanctuary; it is the best place for an elephant in captivity to live. I sometimes wonder why the San Antonio Zoo does not address Lucky's needs, and why American Zoo Association sets standards that do not meet elephants' needs.
and when you try to tell patrons about it, they smirk and turn their eyes away, saying, "I'm not really interested" as though they are too good to care about the animals abused in the many zoos. stop going to these zoos, force them to stop their neglect.
Free Lucky the Elephant to The Elephant Sanctuary Isolated, Sad and Sick Zoo Elephants are the shame of San Antonio and Dallas. PLease Write and Call Mayors Offices and Zoo Officials.
Thank you for posting this! I will spread the word. I don't like how San Antonio Zoo treats most of their animals, including Sababu, their black rhino and Lucky the elephant. Their animals have lack of shade, enrichment, and companionship. Sababu has no pool of water, even though wild rhinos love to swim and sit in ponds!
How can a zoo let this ele live like this? If nothing else, don't they know that people will see this abuse and come back at them? I just cannot understand this neglect and blatant abuse is allowed.
