- in order to cover every aspect of 3D. It's a very good idea to experience and try everything, before you make lifelong decisions, since 3D is complex, big and beautiful area of work :)
If you want tutorials, I'll gladly give you every torrent I downloaded concerning full 3D packages as well as 2.5D ZBrush (highly recommended for sculpting, also, you can export your sculpts out as maps for your models). Equivalent to ZBrush is Mudbox.
To sum it up - if you want, hit me with PM and I'll
@bradoverd123 XSI (Softimage company, now bought by Autodesk, but they still exist as a company) is made primarily for animations, and therefore it has many great tools for animation, as well as for modeling (I personally use XSI and I am blown away by it's modeling tools).
However, I'd advice you to organize for yourself 4 months of learning animation both in XSI and MAX, 2 months per program, and then decide for yourself.
Because anyone, either pro, or beginner, will tell you they preferences about programs based on their experience. At the and of the day, you will choose your robust tools in order to achieve certain goal. Also, there are NO BAD 3D programs (production oriented 3D programs), but there are finesses because of which you'll decide to learn and work within program A, or program B. 4 months of training animation - 2 months in XSI, 2 months in MAX and then draw your own conclusions :)
thanks :D for a good answer lol, some people would just say one or the other or call me dumb... which to be honest is dumb because as i want to begin animation (still haven't yet lol just watching vids etc. until I finish school) i want the program best suited to me. im gonna use your idea about the 4months training. thanks again lol. oh wow... i have -2? for asking a question? oh well lol thanks :)
@bradoverd123 nvm minus rating. I wouldn't be surprised if these people who rated you are those who think that 3D is something for eating ;).
You have the right to ask, and your question is fully in place, it's normal ;). Glad I helped you out a bit. And well, I'm not other people haha :D.
Tell me, are you beginner in every aspect of 3D or? Because, if you are beginner, then I'd recommend 2 months for modeling, 2 months for texturing, 2 months for animation, 2 months for particles
lol marvin take it easy...well kaitoxshay....the modern anime now use lot of 3d and they combine with 2d environment....for example AppleSeed, Macross Zero, last exile, etc.
