George was my hero too....the only "celebrity" I ever hoped to meet and thank. I can recite almost all his stuff verbatim...yet I can watch over and over and over. People who remember him for the 7 words(though that was groundbreaking) are missing the depth of this man's genius. When he died, people were calling me to offer their sympathies...I was actually walking around in a daze for a while, and still can't believe that great mind has been turned off...RIP George
He's my ultimate hero man. I hate that I missed so much of his life cause of my age. Thank you internet for providing me the resources to watch all that I missed. Great tribute!
I use to think the death of someone you don't personally know should never emotionally affect you, but the morning I heard that Carlin died made me realize how wrong I was. I've had relatives who've who's deaths didn't affect me the way Carlins did.
The man was not only one of my hero's, but an inspiration to thousands of other comedians, who have said that comedy would not have come as far as is has if it wasn't for him bringing his style of comedy to the table so many years ago.
when i heard that carlin died,,,,i couldnt believe it i was in denial...i cant forget the times i laughed to his videos..my mom hated his language but she let me watch it because he taught me everything i had an art project to do and we had to draw 10 pictures of someone we ADMIRE i drew 37 george carlins..R.I.P. u old bag :')
I am one of the lucky ones who got to see him live. I have never laughed so hard. We miss you george, unfortunately you are not looking down on us and smiling. Cause you said there was no "UP THERE"
What a beautiful tribute to Carlin! He is ONE comedian who could shake the foundations of everyone and make them laugh at the same time! You captured all of my favorite facial expressions of his! I loved the quote in the info! Fabulous! Thank you for this! :) RIP George! <3
I never got a chance to see George Carlin live when i look at the people it reminds me of his funny shit and i start laugh people look at think i am crazy
Great vid! Believe it or not, I always knew about George Carlin, but I never really watched any of his comedy specials... until I saw some clips of his routines in early 2008 when I moved to LA. I was like, "Shit! This guy's BRILLIANT!" I watched him more and more, all his HBO specials, interviews, etc. I really wanted to meet him. When I heard that he died, I couldn't stop crying... I don't care what anyone says. He was, IS, the greatest comedian who ever lived!!
George Carlin was my hero. Growing up I used to stay up late and watch HBO just to see george carlin. My mom used to get mad because she thought I shouldn't be watching him because of his foul mouth. But even as a teen growing up I loved his logic and sarcasm. I go to the mall and laugh every time I look around at all the fat motherfuckers lol. RIP you old fuck!
george carlin was an amazing man, i loved his worl since the forst time i seen him do stand-up on hbo in the 90's when he did "complaints and greivances" idk if i spelled that right bu w/e. anyways, george carlin was an amazing man, and i heard from someone and agree that george never truly die, nor will he ever, he will always live on through his work. i wanted to cry when i heard that he passed... im miss him like hell.
Carlin was a mere glimpse of the capability and potential of human intellect. Also spent a selfless lifetime making people enjoy their lives with laughter and doing it by telling the truth. The old man, a legend of comedy, is truly missed.
:'( i will never forget him. he did stuff no one could do, thats why i truly think that he is a genius and i honor him greatly. and stop with all u assholes who keep posting comments like 'hes in hell now'. if u dont have anything nice to say about this great person, then keep ure fucking coments to ure fucking selves!
To me he is with the most important artist that ever lived on this earth. He was a free thinker,a guide of spiritual freedom and a man of pure intelligence. And he was so generous. He made us laugh and now his death made us cry.He was a poet,a great writer and a perfect performer. His imagination and his logical strenght were so huge.He was simply a true genius and there are few people like him.Let's remember him and let's keep thinkin' and laughin'.Thank you George Carlin. We'll forever miss you.
Doesn't deserve hell either if any of them existed. A genuinely good person that spoke the truth and made people laugh and think at the same time couldn't possibly be deserved to be punished... One of many reasons why i never been able to believe in god.
I came to know this guy 2 days ago.. Seen many vids of him.. My impression is that.. he didnt rely on anything.. He knows he has one life.. and he fucking made use of it.. and I bet he loved every minute of it.. One great man =).. A man who stand up for himself and his beliefs even if the whole world opposes it.. More like " don't let what others tell you what you can't do"
an absolutley fantastic video, I'm from the UK (were george Carlin was basically unknown) and I was gutted when I found out about his death. One of the most remarkable men ever to live *weeps*
I sure will miss him. Not only was he a great and profound performer, he was tangible evidence that there are some among us who have the ability to think unclouded, unhindered and freely..and most important, willing to share it with the rest of us.
He was so good at what he did, he was awe-inspiring.
Thanks George for so many years of the best kind of commedy; of helping us to maintain our balance and sanity in the face of hyper consumerism and the military industrial complex.
He was truelly a person that could bring all kinds of people together becasue he spoke the truth and that is what people need to hear he is a lot more inteligent than a lot of people give him credit for and to all of the people that read this i think you all have to know the one thing that i beleive is true of George I beleive he was pout o earth to make people laugh and make peoples fukin day go by a little bit easier so they dont take a fkin salid fork and start stabbing everyone they see. RIP
So much respect for George! Among many things. He was logical. Had conviction and balls big enough to speak his mind, empathy, and a big heart that I believe some of his adversaries failed see.
I can appreciate the sentiment but i have to agree with remohONE in saying "you're all diseased". look we're all gonna die at some point it'd been better to show one of carlins "bits" so we could have laughed, maybe his bit about dead people, and wiping them from your contacts book. RIP george carlin. Bill hicks was great too.
Family have died, bros in jail, my life sucks every day and I never cried. This mofo dies and I manage a tear of sadness. I cried many times when laughing though. I'll keep him in my heart and remember all the good times ;]
God damn it George... why the hell did you have to leave? The party sucks without you! Actually shed a tear over ya old man, you were something special
this is the best tribute Ive come across in the 3 days Ive been reading and watching. Im really going to miss him and his work.Since I bought his first album Class
Clown when I was 15 he has brought a smile to my face when I was in my darkest times. Sister Mary Elephant, George!
I couldn't agree more. Whether you're one of his fans or you hated him...the simple fact that he made you think means he did his job and he did it well.
The world really does seem a lot less special without George Carlin.

I think George Carlin wasen't measured by what he said, which was brilliant, but what he did. Belief in God or not, he was a truly good guy.

i liked his earlier stuff, or maybe perhaps more accurately, his stuff up to and until around the time he did bill and ted.
His more recent stuff seemed more ranty and just plain nasty. But previously, his stuff was more cerebral and well thought out.
