Hi Jared, love you videos man.. it really inspires me to take on photography , heck i was so inspired i quit my job, hahaha... i have a question, can i use lightroom on my pentax raw files? thank you..
Jared, what's your take on digital realignment? I few nudges in photoshop would be able to fix alignment in the top part I bet. Just a little curious because it felt like the thought didn't even cross your mind. I'm no pro, but the thought did cross my mind. Thanks.
i use aperture would you reccomend me switching i have some 30,000 pictures and a few thousand videos, mostely family pictures with some fine art photography i have taken? right now aperture can handle alot but chokes on RAW files
Tell me something.. How is it that this picture almost got no grains, but it's shot at 8000 ISO?? When I shoot with 6400 ISO on my Canon 550D, I begin to see a few grains S:?
@Mr54M Because you are using a 550D (T2i) and he is using a d3s... the 550D is an APS-C (cropped) sensor and can't come anywhere close to the full frame sensor in the d3s... or the 5dMk2 for that matter.
ah sucks that it was off angle.. if only there was a way to be able to correct and TWEAK it (as though you had gotten the exposure just a little bit off)..
i wonder where did you focus when taking this photo? as you zoomed in once in the box up above and it seems to be well in focus. cos 2.8 should give u a very less depth of focus as my understanding, or is it because you shot at 14mm so it still have some depth of field? thanks
how do u shoot with a shutter that fast, and get the light to go into the lens??? is it only possible with certain lenses? i have the kit lens from a d3000
Great shot! I especially like the one of his shadow towards the end. It would be a cool album cover idea if the ground was flat and wasn't uneven(i'm guessing covers for the cables).
I'm about to but my first Mac and wanted know what program should I invest in for photography. I hear aperture3 is good or is this (lightroom) superior?
lol my professors would be screeming at the top of there lungs at you if they saw 8000 iso, they have it stuck in there head that iso should always be left at 200 and at the most 400, i try to explain to them that it depends on the camera but they insist that on a commercil basis for huge prints high iso's are very bad. even the d3s is noisy at 8000 iso. very noisy actually
Technology, along with photography of course, is one of my many hobbies. But I am a mac-using photographer as well and always look at the mass of apps in your dock and wonder abou them. Do you think sometime you could do a run-down of "What's In My Dock" (especially those apps pertaining to photography.) Thanks!

I would like to see it rotated just to see how it would look. Because my eye is drawn to the balcony being off-level.

I have D3000 and I don't have a lens yet, I'm 16 and on tight budget.
Should I wait for getting a tamron/Sigma 17-50 2.8 or get a 35 1.8 which is cheaper?

jjjjjokerface 10 months ago
Thanks Jared for teaching me not to be afraid of ISO! :)
People get scared when I told them I shoot at 1600 and even 2000 with my d90. The prints are rock solid, and that is what matters at the end.
Even in bright daylight I shoot at 320. Everything seems more natural and with more detail in shadows I think.
I have to thank you for that and for shooting RAW!!!
