I use to think Fire-Fighting was such a horrible job, and they got under paid. Let alone I was only 8. Then my brother rented this movie, and I thought it was stupid, a movie about fire-fighting.. til I got to the end. I was in instant tears... I watched it 2 or 3 more times. I still, then cried. After watching this movie, it gave me the hope to become a fire-fighter. I'll do anything I have to. I don't care if it's Volunteer, Part-Time. Anything to become a fire-fighter.

@Jxrred honestly, for the work we do, we are seriously underpaid. i came off of active duty with the Marines at the end of March last year and have been a paid firefighter since then. it does depend on where you work but at most places, you'd be lucky to start at $14 an hour.

Watching this video will never not make me feal bad...... my dad is a fire cheif and last year a man named Mark died and nobody could stop crying..... I personally know his son, which was given his fathers helmet on the day of his funeral. But the man didn't die of a fire he died of a heart attack, but no matter what it is hard to lose a brother and I hope that there will be less deaths of firefighters bcause they are heroes and we need them

we Lost my childhood home to the cause of a fire... One of the firemen that worked to put out the fire, was burned by hot water that dripped onto his back and now has a permanent scar.... I thank God for firefighters every day, My sister and I almost was trapped by the fire and I know each and every one of the men who responded would've risked their lives to save us!! Yes Ladder 49 is the Best Movie and it is a sad one but What i like about it was they all went through Fire Fighter 1 Training before they started filming the movie..
